175lbs...
I trip out on the fact that all the "first cycle" posts are guys that are 170-175lbs. I mean I get it, you want to be bigger. But I find it hard to believe that one has even really lifted or lived long enough in that mindstate if they are 5'10" and at that weight. And it's the majority of each first cycle door I open...I swear I went from a birdboned fk to around 195 on just food and creatine when I very first picked up the weights. Maybe I just really am a maniac when I lift or maybe it's because I over did it lifting each and every time and in doing such I was a hungry mofo. I beat the shit out of myself doing endless sets so I went from a normal 3 meal a day guy to a always hungry guy.
If these guys are truly maniacs under the weights I know they have to be fkn hungry...right!? I know everyone is different but no...if you are exerting mass amounts of energy, your body will need mass amounts of fuel...so I ask...why the fk is everyone 170-175lbs??

But most aren't.
End of October I moved house 100miles away from the gym I own. The new place I train in sums up most modern day gyms. I get funny looks from people when I'm dripping with sweat after battering myself day in day out. Most of them spend more time texting and chatting than actually lifting anything. "Rapping to failure" means something very different there than what I learnt. Drop sets until pressing just the bar becomes heavy, WTF is that? And they wonder why I'm 50lbs heavier than anyone else.....
And that's one of the good reasons I now own a business/training center/personal gym at my house now, we are a HUGE exception to the norm. I can't cope with "gym fad people". Plus I eat whole Fkin animals per day, and piles of grains, and buckets of fruits and veggies LOL
Was it Dennis Leary that came out with "and if they don't eat the meat, we throw them on the fire for the other meat eaters"....? That's the image I've got in my head. I got lectured by a friend of my wife's who's a strict vegan. I described myself as an "anti vegan". She's very fond of me ;)
Hahahaha...nice
Yea I think it was Dennis Leary, I remember something like that
Exactly Cat! The majority give up before they have even started. The way I see it, is the reps in the early sets are the ones that the body "can" do. Im focused on the crucial reps at the end of sets the body "can't" do! The ones crucial to growth! The reps that you have to pause for a moment, fight back the urge to puke, the urge to give in, find every ounce of fight in yourself to lift! Basically the beginning reps led up to these last few are warm ups to the real ass kicking reps!
And it's exactly those reps that cause growth. That's why in the grand scheme of things number of reps is irrelevant. They're just numbers, how many of them truly hurt?
When I finished training calves today they were so utterly destroyed I couldn't raise the seated calf raise up high enough to get the lever back in the rest with just two plates on at the end of a huge drop set. "Yep, my calves are officially done".
You don't need to do that though do you? Just pin a bucket load of gear and it will happen with much less hard work. Nope ;)
A reporter once asked Ali – “How many sit ups you do?”, To which he replied – “I don’t know, I don’t count my sit ups. I start counting when it hurts and I feel pain, because those are what really count and makes you a champion. “
Calves are stubborn as hell to beat into submission being they support our weight each and every day since our first step. When they finally do "tap"...you're walkin flat footed the heel don't raise....more of a shuffle lol.
I'm 175 lbs ;(

"On a side note before people ask I have a strong base knowledge of the gym, and eating healthy and how to eat while training for different situations so I dont need advice on any of that kind of stuff."
You mean like this???
Yes...like that lol. Good for a few tea bags by the guys though...
Honey, would you be so kind to hand me the pepper....ah...and when you're already at it, could you hand me the gun as well please?
That's my humor. I like it.
The misery is thick in the cycle section
because we are living in a metro sexual world now, hardcore body building is fading out, no one wants to bulk, its all abs and biceps now, its supposedly "the in" thing now, but really its just easier for skinny dudes to inject some tren and get veins popping out of their skeleton, these are the same guys who eat lettuce and tomato salads all day and think steak is bad for their abs, " oh hello rupert" oh hello oswald how are you? oh im fantabulous thanks for asking, but ive just eaten a salad and it had dressing on it so ive now got to go and run on the treadmill for 3 hours i think my abs are fading, "oh are you serious? gotta run then im of to the salon bye now......
yeah you get it.
I visualize stomping the shit outta fuckboys like that. Don't even deserve that dick between their legs, if it hasn't shriveled up into a vagina yet
RustyhookerHigh five!!!
Yeeeaaaa budddyyyy!
I like the aggression in that shit!
Haha...I'm not "with" this whole modern age alternative lifestyle thing. I would've dropped the 3 letter word that starts in f and ends with g...a in the middle. But saying that is like dropping the N bomb now :-/
Terrible world smh...lol
The times..they are'a changin and I definately am NOT trying to keep up lol
Nothing like an Ol' Fashion ;-)
Ladies - if your boyfriend can fit into skinny jeans, you have a girlfriend.
hmmm what if I can't fit into skinny jeans and want to live vicariously through my boy friend ... ??/
I'm sure you would have no problem fitting into them if you reallly wanted to, but then skinny Grrls don't win power lifting meets ;)
my wife insists that she needs a gay boyfriend too.
You call that a pool boy...
Dont lie like you women dont have mind control over us dumb dumbs already lol
A good morning laugh...true story though
Totally agree. So sad, look at the golden age, damn those were aesthetics which is so different to knowadays. They didn't super ripped and shredded abs, etc. It was the overall shape, etc...maaan, what happened...
I started out at 15 and 167lbs doing Arnold's 3x bodypart a week competition program because I had the energy for it and thought more work more results. Eventually dropped to 2x a week body part and still took me way longer than it should have because of the excessive over training, but hit 200lbs pretty ripped by 19 without gear. Even with overtraining I still build a pretty strong base. If you can't get 200lbs naturally you probably should not be taking roids. If I could go back to being 15 now with what I know I would be a monster.
RustyhookerDepending on height. But thats again why we push in forum for real stats
I remember it took me forever to break 180 back when I was 19.
Like this one......

its gone ;-(
That's probably for the best. It saved you wasting 90 seconds of your life you'll never get back....
I see ... all those seconds do seem to add up
It was a beaut-!
That is the last one of the many that prompted this post. At 168 there is no lifting or eating to begin with...
Yeah, and then going onto another thread and encouraging the guy to take AAS because they are in a similar state...even though we were able to make the other guy rethink his approach. Man, he'll probably read this encouragdement and hop on AAS now. You know how most of them are, asking a question and only seeing the answer which pleases this individual
I think it's only you and I picked up on that so far. Sure he'll have something to say in return. Boyce the rose comment? Left out if original post.....
All we see at the moment is guys with less meat on them than a chicken drumstick posting up cycles. "But I'm a hard gainer", "I eat 5k cals a day and can't put on weight". I've heard it all before. Getting boring and I'm starting to lose my usually diplomatic approach ;)
I feel you and I guess many of us feel the same way. Often I really need to force myself to stay calm.
Anyway, >I eat 5k cals a day and can't put on weight
Is such a BS statement. If you have trouble gaining weight, they simply need to eat more frequently and get creative. You can easily make a liquid blend of couple of hundreds/thousands of kcal. For powerlifting meets after weigh in, the first thing I do is to drink my shake (700ml) containing about 1500kcal with lots of carbs and sodium...same as you, heard this so often...
it's because they are NOT eating 5k a day. They only think they are. They don't take into account when you cook food it loses some of its value or the guy who takes 5 protein shakes a day of Whey and adds it to his total intake as if his body used all of the protein or even carb supps.. I purposely do not count any supplements in my total daily intake because if scientists have no idea then how the hell would I as well?
I eat 5K cals most days. Life gets in the way at times and it's difficult, this lifestyle I live. Filling yourself up with that amount of food is no joke. I sit for HOURS in a day and eat, it's ridiculous. And I can only do it because my job, my career, my life IS training, coaching, competing. But that's just it and I keep saying this...NOT everyone is built for this! If your genetics stink then good luck. Eat all you want and run all the gear you want but it will never save you. I know a decent amount of guys in my area that run gear and just really don't have the base for it. It is what it is.
