+ 5 What pushes you to train

ad

Some of us train for health, some of us train to look good, and some of train to fight demons.

The best way I can describe myself is that I am like a pitbull. I am extremely loving, extremely protective, but I can also be extremely aggressive . I grew up in a violent household. Beatings and sexual abuse. Forced to fight as a kid to prove who was the baddest family. Taught to defend anyone who disrespected my family with violence. My last name held weight. Later in life as you get older and people get washed up in the system, people OD, people get killed you realize this way of thinking won’t get you far at all. Dead or in prison is the only option. You do enough bad in life and you will forever look over your shoulder. If I am capable then who’s to say the person next to me isn’t. I am constantly on edge. What happens when you keep a pit in a cage? They become aggressive. Like a pit I need to be ran. I need that output. If I don’t I become aggressive. Of course I enjoy the benefit of the look from training hard but this isn’t why I train. I’ve also never trained for health. To a degree health doesn’t even cross my mind. Now that I’m diving into PEDs I pay attentions but that’s only bc I’m doing them. I train bc it’s the only thing that tames the beast. I don’t need music to get me hyped I just tap into that monster inside. That anger and frustration inside is what lifts the weights. Every negative thought or thoughts of violence get released when I squat dead or bench. This is why I train.

That being said.. what pushes y’all to train?? Lmao

Mr.Asteroids's picture

Training gives me strength and energy, which in turn builds confidence and mental resilience in life. I love how my character changes over time when I'm consistently lifting weights. And it’s nice to look at yourself in good shape rather than with a sagging belly Smile

Sithx66's picture

It definitely builds confidence and mental resilience. Some of the best work outs I’ve had were days when I didn’t want to work out. It trains your mind to do things you don’t want to do but have to do and the outcome is great. Also changes the way you carry yourself. Especially tren lmao

When I couldn't see my own penis past my belly, I knew it was time to get my ass up and start working out.

What weight was that? 185 lbs?

Sithx66's picture

When I was peaking in strength body comp was out the fuckin window. I cared far more about strength the body comp. Since starting gear I’ve been aiming for body comp. Been going for push pull legs high reps and any lagging muscle I’ll hit twice a week. I usually do westside method. Bench dead squat and accessory day with chains and bands

You ever try training bench press dead lift and squat. Then add in your accessory work?
When i ruptured the disc's in my back 7 years ago i was actually doing a speed day.

Sithx66's picture

I was doing accessory after my main lifts on speed days. That’s when I’d use bands and chains. Max days I’d do drop sets. 4th work out day was also accessory day but that was a bit random.

I know you’re a strong fuck. What are your work outs looking like these days?

Training helps me function as I get older.

Same. I get it.

I definitely feel that mental clarity afterwards but I don’t always feel calm after a work out. Sometimes it take a minute for the adrenaline to stop

Good question and post my man. So for me it all started with me just wanting to be strong. As a kid I liked watching Hercules, the hulk, and He- Man. At this point it's more about quality than quantity when it comes to muscle for me. I'll probably be training until my 70s or 80s if I'm fortunate. Better mood, sleep, appetite, and just better health overall. The body is your temple so we gotta take care of it. When you do it'll definitely pay off

Sithx66's picture

Shit I hope I’m alive at that age lol crazy how the length of life almost means nothing when you’re younger then all of a sudden one day you want to live for as long as possible.

I e never really done anything and the only thing I’m good at is not giving up. So I like to think that I’m some ultra super badass walking to the gym late at night, dark cold and raining and everyone else is cuddled up watching some gay movie and I’m out grinding. I take like 5 days off a year. It’s stupid but I just like to think that no one’s as a hardcore as me lol, like I’m the David goggins of my neighborhood. I like my kids to know that no matter what I go to the gym every day, even when I don’t want to, or it’s snowing, or cold, or it’s been a long day. There a few things that are extremely important to me to teach my kids, and those things I teach them by action and this is one of them

I get that 100% it’s that savage mentality. When I was a bit younger and went to a public gym that’s why I’d go between 12-4am. My mentality was I’m killing it when everyone is sleeping and I’d still get up at the same time as them and I didn’t bitch or complain about how tired I was lol

God Bless you and may you continue to heal and get better in all ways you wish to. I subscribe to the ideology of advancement and development so whatever I can do to get better in any which way and anything that has a positive "R.O.I", I engage in. Training whether I'm in the weight room or on a mat with gloves and shin pads on, fixes and helps a lot for me

Yessir. I boxed for 3years prior but took up Muay Thai this year and it has been a wild ride hahaha

Nice! My family loves boxing! Muay Thai is sic tho. Every once in a while I go on YouTube and watch fight. Are you competing?

iLikeGlocks's picture

No sir, I do not but I have been thinking about doing an amateur fight or two for the experience and for fun. When I strictly boxed I wanted to do an amateur Bare Knuckle match but there was nothing like that around me at the time

Jameshobbis's picture

Just trying to be that bit better each and every day man! Also being the biggest dad on the playground always feels good when collecting the kids from school haha! For me gym is therapy nomatter what's going on in life outside the gym the gym is the one place you can fully forget about what's going on in life and for that 1-2 hours nothing else matters its just you vs you.

I got fed up of making excuses to myself as to why I should ‘take a night off’ for reason X or Y.
If I don’t do the workout I know I should do I’ll beat myself up about it. It will hurt more to not do it than to just get it done.
I’m also 45 this Saturday and I have kids. I want them to see me put myself through it and normalise this behaviour to them. So without telling them to do it, it sets a standard of what we do in this family. Wife trains hard too.
I’ve realised all this is for my mental health just as much if not more than my physical health. It’s what I do and the standard I set for myself.

I went about 15 years without a bike. Now I have 2 newer ones and 3 old 2 strokes that need some TLC.

Sithx66's picture

I haven’t had a bike for about a year. I sold it bc I’m an idiot. Now I’m looking to buy another one bc I’m still an idiot lmao. Very few things compare to hitting 160mph on a bike.

In a promo × 1
scoobydoo's picture

Me too. That's why I started buying smaller bikes. My newest is a KTM Duke 200. I can rev that thing to 10,500 rpms through the first 3 gears and still be barely breaking the speed limit. Lol

Sithx66's picture

I was thinking of doing the same but deep down inside I know I wouldn’t be happy or satisfied. They do make some good looking smaller cc bike. The ktm rc390 look hella good. I also like the honda cb500f. And the Kawasaki z400z. Still tho the new r9 is calling me! I’ve always bought used bike. I’d really like to buy an r9 off the floor.

scoobydoo's picture

The R9 is far too much power for me. I'd be doing lots of stupid shit on that thing.

Sithx66's picture

I’m curious to see how it compare to the r6. The power band is supposedly a little more forgiving. I low sided my r6 on the windys. I was coming in way too hot. Got up to 70mph on the straight and didn’t slow down enough. Got some slight fish tail leading into the turn and leaned for dear life lol. I slid about 15-20ft. My helmet had a nice mark and my gloves and gear got tore up nice and yet all I could think about was if my bike was ok. I felt fine that day but the days after I could hardly walk and practically half my body was bruised head to toe. I was so pissed about my bike. I sold it for what I could and bout the fz07. Atleast 2 days a week I’d go back there and practice just bc I felt like the corner beat me

I try not to go too much over the speed limit so I don't end up in that situation. Lol

It's so mental for me. I just feel foggy and brain fat if/when I don't work out. Even if I can only get into the gym for 30 minutes of cardio and a 10 minute sauna after I'm a completely different and better version of myself from that, vs saying fuck it and just couching up after a long stressful day. Especially in winter when I'm more prone to the winter blues (lack of real sun light). As much as I love the pump and look and the physical feelings of pounding weights, and the much better more frequent healthier sex life....I do it mostly to keep the depression at bay or less. As Beast Mode once said ya gotta take care of your mentals.

As I get older it helps strengthen my overall body and system and actually helps with pain. I’ve quit training and after sometime I just start feeling more physical pain, also helps the mind tremendously.

That’s pretty cool! My son is in his teens and he is getting into powerlifting. He starting to be conscious of what he eats as well. Most teens eat shit and this kid is like I need protein. He asks me hella questions about food and training nowadays. I fucking love it!
