+ 2 What is your resting heart rate?
ad
Heart health is an important consideration for us as we all know the side effects of improper and even regular use of AAS can lead to heart complications. This is also a reminder to stay on top of heart health and if you don't know your RHR, maybe it's something you should begin following.
We all hate the cardio word but as we get older, cardio does begin to play a more important role in overall health.
Enough of my pubmed ted talk, vote on the poll and let's discuss heart health.

55-60 What's my secret? Constantly moving around/being busy physically + eating healthy + fish oil + mk7 + aminos + lots of garlic and ginger in my diet.
I quit smoking over 3 years ago. Following this I monitored my heart rate regularly and it floated from 80 to 100 bpm. I weighed around 240 at the time was out of shape and wasn't lifting. I wasn't on any kind of trt either. The doctor told me it was normal for people with more muscle mass to have a higher resting rate then the average person. I forget his exact reasoning and explanation. Didn't stop it from freaking me out though. I checked just now and it was 82. So maybe quitting smoking had something to do with it.
Does a resting heart rate <30 mean you are dead
There's a few ultra endurance athletes with super low heart rates under 30, I doubt any body builders fall in to that range
Mine low is 58 average low term. Surprisingly low considering how loud and clear I can hear my heart sometimes .))
Jonathan22You're lucky, I would need a cortisol inhibitor and a good beta blocker to have a such low rest heart rate.
I'll hang out in the upper 70's. On cycle I might creep into the low 80's.
Good poll. I had to double check. Off-It's 40-50's. On-It's 50-60's. But still goes under 50 while on too still sometimes.
Shit Bro - with proof too!!! Putting us all to shame LMAO
Mac are you even alive?
I know bro. I’ve been slacking here. Working my ass like a 3-peckered goat. On a long Test / EQ run though. Eat and grow.
Mate you got me wrong LMAO I meant because your HR is so low not because you haven't been on much lol
Ah ok
I got you, working and reading too fast. 30-40's is scary to watch on the cardiac monitor too !
Depends, if you're an endurance athlete, it can be normal
Oh for sure when it’s expected.
I don’t put myself on usually, but probably should.
I get to see all sorts of rhythms.
One of the few good things about being light and natural is your HR and BP - I use to be fit as a fiddle up until doing roids!! Never out of breath doing anything and could never feel my heart beating in my chest Lol I use to think it was hilarious seeing people who couldn't run for a solid mile.
Oh yeah, starting up AAS last year, and I for sure feel the difference a little. Tolerable, but hey at 50 I can still run a mile no problem
I could too - whether I would still be alive 5 minutes after finishing it though is debateable lol
Yes but can you run that without stopping too
This is a very individual thing. Mine doesn’t go up if I increase to cycle dosage or add anabolics, but I also cut sugar and caffeine when I ramp things up. Now, this is where it gets interesting, although my heart rate doesn’t increase, it definitely feels like my heart is beating harder. Stronger? More pronounced? Hard to describe, but my heartbeat is more noticeable.
Totally get that. Start feeling the pulse in different areas stronger.
Didn’t want to edit- +1 to the OP, it’s a good discussion.
80-82 on or off cycle
Before I began AAS, my RHR was 38. Which is extremely low, my doctor made me come in 3 separate times for testing and then checked my VO2 max which took entirely too long as I was a pretty high level athlete.
After my first few cycles with AAS, test, eq, etc. My heart rate began to rise to the 40s, I assume because I put on more mass and was doing less cardio.
The big kicker was when I tried Tren and Anadrol for the first time. My heart rate shot up to 80-90. I was young, stupid and running entirely too high of doses for someone so new to the anabolic world.
After that cycle my heart rate never went below 50, it stayed at 60-70 for a few months after, which is 'normal' but for me felt a bit too high. I don't regret doing cycles, I just regret not doing them slower and lower. If I had the knowledge I do now, I would have run at half the doses I did, maybe even less and probably still had amazing gains.
As i sit now, my RHR is 55, I'm 20yrs older than I was when it was 38 and no where near as athletic.
Damn Unc, in a few years you’ll be know as Pap, lol, Same here did some dumb shit when I was younger and even when I wasn’t so young. Maybe that’s why I’m on BP medicine at 38. Hard to say, but I’m sure it contributed to it. My rhr is 66-71. Test, Primo and Dbol, interesting cocktail, you throwing the Dbol in for strength, or a little weight?
I’m having my Rmr, VO2max, and Dexa-Scan done in a week at NY Jets facility. I want to lset a benchmark for the 12-16 wk program i am beginning. I just had bloodwork done. Everything was within range… testosterone was high 969 . Im a 57 y.o male
Any recommendations concerning the testing
is that 969 no trt? If so, I'm jealous.
Im on TRT 200 enanthate per week.
Moving over to your Sust 500 per wk.
Great Poll idea - this should be interesting
Would be a good idea to state whether it is on or off cycle as I know mine differs quite a bit.
very true, on cycle and off mine stays fairly consistent but that's because I don't run heavy cycles anymore.
My last cycle, 200mg of test e, 400mg of primo, 10mg of dbol
For sure, when the gear is low you can almost get it looking normal its amazing the difference things like high test and Dbol make to it. Like yourself I noticed a big difference once I ran trenbolone, whilst on it the heart permenantly races I assume due to increased metabolism levels and in turn body heat. It seems to alter your resting heart rate for a very long time afterwards and not in a good way, takes a long time for it to settle down again.
