Weird thing from post office
ad
So I've got a pack that's come from an international source that uses a reship when it hits country. Every thing proceeded as usual but then it's been in transit to next facility a town over for days. Now today I get home and it's a receipt stating they couldn't leave it cuz theirs postage owed on it but the tracking still says in transit and this is the only pack it could be. Went up there and it was still on the truck. Idk just trying to get a read on this

Byanymeans78Well alls well that ends well post man dropped it with my roommate and took the postage from him.
Byanymeans78So somehow it wasn't there
Things get funky sometimes when they use a reshipper. I’ve gotten updates saying delivery was attempted but no one home. Give it more time.
MungI wouldn't touch that with a pole. Does risk outweigh benefit? What's the worst that could happen? As said elsewhere, what we do isn't without chances, however I would never accept anything in my hand, much less make a physical payment in person. Best of luck to you bud, but personally I'd try to work something out with the purveyor.
Go to post office, pay cash and leave with package or cuffs, this game is not without risk.
The "I didn't order it" excuse/defense will be harder to claim/prove if you're willing to spend money to receive it.
I'm sure that the re-shipper isn't high on the payroll.
I’m curious if it was a direct pack from overseas or sent through a 3rd party here in the US. Either way I wouldn’t be too concerned but if it was the later I wouldn’t worry at all and just pay the fee. I’ve had it happen with stuff I got from eBay.
Byanymeans78Yeah they use a reship
How much postage is owed? If not to much I would just pay it and contact the source to get credit for it.
Byanymeans789 bucks and change I'm going up after work. Can't lie I was just nervous. But after some thought more then likely it's what it says it is
Tracking number not showing the real status every time. It's depends of the country you waiting package from and shipping method your sender did choose. If package isn't really big, no worries and pick it up.
PropheticWookieI think you need to call them and clarify, there may be an error on the site.
RustyhookerContact source...theyd know
Byanymeans78I did but their really not comprehending
RustyhookerAsk em.... wheres my package? Lol! Be patient. Foreign can go up to 6 weeks. Ive had some as fast as 7 days.
Byanymeans78Your not following their saying they went to deliver today but they said they couldn't cuz no one was home to pay the postage owed. But again the only pack it could be still says it's in transit from the city over. It's all very strange
Sometimes whatever county it passes through will put a postage fee on it, but when that happens it usually won't leave that county until it gets paid. I've never heard of the United States putting a fee on it. And usually they won't bring it to your house asking for the fee. It will stay at the post office and they will send you a letter saying to pay a fee. But if you paid whatever shipping price the source asked for and their is additional fees the source should cover those fees.
Byanymeans78Maybe it's on the reship company?
It could be, but if this source does this shipping regularly they should already know what's going on with the reshipper.
Byanymeans78I'm going up tomorrow more then likely it's what it says it is cuz I've read on here that if you don't pick it up they'll open it to see if it's safe to send back and I don't need any attention
RustyhookerSounds sketchy to me but .....things change over time
Byanymeans78Now the pack is MIA. idk bro I'm not going back up there now. Fuck it. But if it's a set up their doing it in a very odd way.
Never have been in that situation I would get with the source and ask questions there to see if it's common or not for his packs maybe someone can chime in with a similar experience I'm my 10 plus years never had it happend to me . Granted sources have switched up in the years the way things are sent not impossible
PropheticWookieАnd I have some adventures with parcels through the mail. Either they will be lost, or they will be sent to the wrong place somewhere. Very often I had to find out and look for parcels.
Byanymeans78The only thing that may have happened was the order was lessened so to speak and they may have possibly still included and did the postage for less. But the amount it's for seems like it would be less but I'm really not hip on rates
Byanymeans78If I broke any rules posting this inquiry I apologize but I think I didn't but it's hard to keep track some times.
