Red Blood Cell count

ad

I went to the dr 1 1/2 months ago and had a full panel blood test. My numbers were pretty good even cholesterol finally but my red blood cell count was four times what it should be and he asked if I was in gear and stupidly I said no but I was on testosterone boosters I said. I had a new test and the count was double now. This is normal for us but has anyone ever had any heath issues related to this red blood cell count being high?

Thanks for the input guys. Sometimes doctors don’t go through everything and what it means. They love to focus on blood pressure and cholesterol so they can write a script.

Going to the wrong doc!

I fire any of them that throw meds at the problems nowadays. If they aren’t willing to be well versed in common practices and help me solve the root issue they are not worth my time or money.

Remember- it is up to our discretion who treats us. You are never forced or stuck with anyone. I’ve hopped around endo’s, primary docs, pain management specialists, PT locations, etc.

It’s OUR bodies! Be upfront and honest about everything you are doing/how you view things, and you’ll run into someone that’ll work with you with care in their heart.

17.4 X 3 = 52. It's not dehydration. These numbers aren't bad at all. You're slightly elevated but your platelet count is in normal range. It's when you're severely elevated H+H and the platelet count is in high range that the danger comes of clots/stroke. But these numbers look ok. To get into normal range maybe just try more frequent injections. That's what I would do

Do a blood dump every 6 weeks. You can 1. Donate at a clinic 2. See a hematologist and have it done medically or 3. Order the kit and do it yourself at home. High rbc/ hematocrit levels can be dangerous. Puts a lot of extra stress on your heart veins and arteries.

I actually just called a TRT doctor today to ask advice. He said as long as your blood pressure is normal, 55/18.5 is his cut off limit. Once it hits or surpasses that, he requests a phleb. Stay under that with normal BP and your good year round. He said hemoglobin is what they care about more than hematocrit which I never heard before.

I've been chronically high for years and got no issues. Tell us your numbers. The most important thing is to stay hydrated and take vaso dilaters, I take baby aspirin and 3000mg omega 3. There's another supplement call IP6& inositol that is good for this

DeeMan's picture

I try and keep omega 3 in my arsenal at all times. I do remember some study stating that omega 3 caused prostate cancer but those studies can contradict one another. Good to see u back around posting.

With that baby aspirin be on top of your glutamine! Aspirin lowers stomach lining and can cause major problems especially on steroids! Becomes a problem for lots of people on an ECA stack. Glutamine is a necessary godsend especially on aspirin or oral steroids!

Aspirin is extremely bad for your kidneys and stomach, literally can cut off blood supply to the kidneys for as long as its active the same as Ibuprofen does. Loads on people end up with Chronic kidney disease resulting from taking it for years, I know these baby aspirin are lower in dosage than normal ones but it still cannot be good for you at all taking it religiously everyday. Causes stomach ulcers and the lot. I personally would rather sort out my blood than use aspirin to thin it.

smurfdude1234567's picture

Yep yep much can be prevented with glutamine and proper supplementation. I agree with the stomach issues, but most of the kidney issues are much more common with other NSAIDs with different mechanisms of action such as acetaminophen. In high doses of aspirin (300mg+) those effects are much more pronounced. The baby aspirin are 81mg, and I feel the benefits outweigh the negatives especially short term when taking compounds that are causing the issue… as long as you are taking proper precautions as with anything!

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10726126/

Conclusion: Chronic low-dose ASA use was associated with faster kidney function deterioration, and no association was observed with mortality or risk of ESKD.

Really interesting read!

It seems that chronic use IS linked with function deterioration, but could not be linked to actual kidney failure or death.

Overall I think it’s relatively safe for periods when it’s needed. I truly think it helped a lot of people during COVID and many places used it as standard protocol due to the clotting issues.

You'll always hear the pros and the cons of anything but that's usually the case with anything including exactly what we do and that's using gear. As far as baby aspirin I probably have to agree with you on that. Good facts with that cited study.

Drexyl's picture

You’re going to hear conflicting information about the baby aspirin, I added it to my regimen a couple of months ago. Every day but not religiously, sometimes EOD. If you ever find yourself in a situation, whatever that situation may be, if you’re around a group of old people, ask them if they take vitamins and baby aspirin. The vitamins will be a maybe, but you’ll find most of the really old people are taking the aspirin. There’s something to it.

press1's picture

The Old people aren't far off dying though, so the long term health problems that arise from taking aspirin everyday aren't really an issue for them. The benefit outweighs the possible negatives.

smurfdude1234567's picture

Oh yeah I take it myself!

I was just saying make sure you have glutamine in proper doses going with it. It quite literally destroys stomach lining.

Absolutely. Glutamine is essential for stomach and Colon health. Not to mention immune health

Naringin, resveratrol and turmeric also chelate iron like IP6 does.
