What does everyone prefer ?
I personally love to eat more fish & ground turkey over chicken.
I make a bomb turkey chili every week that gives me 6 meals. Outside of that I drink a carton of egg whites or two a day, and usually a serving of fish. Red meat once a month maybe when I go out to eat but not often.
Personal opinion, and really research supported, you do not need the amount of protein a lot of people preach on here. There is just no research to back up any more than 1g/Lb of lean body mass.
I eat anything that doesn't eat me first......
Thanks guys. Was just seeing what everyone prefers. I personally get tired of eating red meats. lol I might just start doing cycles when I travel to Asia. Fish is so cheap.
12 eggs a day 2 whey iso shakes and tons of meat especially seafood cod, salmon, haddock, calamari octopus shrimp etc loaded with omegas Dam I'm getting hungry lol
Chicken, Beef, Turkey!!!
I eat fish rarely and when I do I prefer cod.
Post Training I eat Isolated Whey.
Chicken, pork, turkey, eggs, milk, salmon, beef.
Besides those I'd say most of my "other" protein comes from potato, peanut butter, oatmeal, whey etc
AnonRare new York strip 3x a day does me well. Currently on 30 days of this, gains are rediculous...
Holy shit batman I'd hate to see your grocery bill!
AnonThe local grocery store had new York strip on sale a couple weeks before Thanksgiving, $1 a pound. I was like wtf, so I asked the butcher what gives, said they need to make room for turkeys. Long story short bought 100 buck's worth. Most is still frozen, but I'm making progress lol.
I can get a whole strip loin for 5.25 a pound. Cut it myself. It's possible but yeah expensive. Just got 40 pounds of prime rib for 7 bucks a pound, actual prime aged prime rib. I like to take care of my butcher and he takes care of me.
iNarcissistHow do you take care of him? No homo
hahahahahaha absolutely no mercy!!! lmao
Cut its horns off and wipe it's arse! That will do me
Boiled peanuts
Tuna
Eggs
Cheese
Pork in the smoker
Chicken
Anything with four legs or wings.
Forgot about the swimmers also.
Eggs and beef baby.
Fish and chicken, not much of a beef person
I don't know chubbs. Why don't you ask Chubb what HE eats. https://www.eroids.com/pics/back-up-to-350
Lol
I made a buffalo dip for a party the past week, and way over did it. I've been bashing it on tortilla shells all week.
6 pounds of shredded chicken breast, 4 blocks of low fat cream cheese, 2 bags of Mexican cheese, and 4 bottles of sweet baby rays buffalo sauce.
I'm not saying it's the lowest in fats, but it's bulking season and it goes down easy.
Chicken is a great lean protein, but it's low in calories. A couple pounds of cheese help offset that. And a little hot sauce turns any boring protein into a mutha fckn delicassy.
I stick to Whole Foods, personally I limit my heavy red meats to just a few times a week, this is due to the heavy affect it can have on cardio vascular health. My daily sources are egg whites, lean ground turkey, chicken (cooked down in crock pot, much easier to eat when it's shredded! ) and local white fish such as flounder as that's one of the frozen readily available fish that does not have "carbon monoxide" added to it in an effort to prevent rot like tilapia products.
Salmon and turkey filet. Chicken would be next on the list. Then, lean beef and pork, some deer and wild hog at times. There's lamb, goat and then the fishes. ....eggs and milk, which aren't animal protein, but they help, but you need a good amino acid profile from all meats....Viking says ofall ...hearts, kidneys, liver, etc are awesome sources for protein....
Well I may like the taste of some proteins over the taste of others. But regardless I'm not going to eat one or two types of proteins 5 to 6 times a day. And I would never expect to grow without eating at least 5 to 6 meals per day. So I always have a variety of protein every day of my life. Eggs, chicken, beef, Turkey, steak, fish, and of course milk. I don't necessarily rely on milk for a source of constant protein because the human body is not actually not supposed to drink milk. But that's a whole Nother topic altogether.
So why when we are born are we breast fed with milk? Infact why is every living creature on the planet breast fed with milk?
Aha, this is why the glands consist of connective and fatty tissues that support the milk production in breasts and the alveoli are just a natural physiological mistake...
But yeah, this is a whole nother topic
Just from a Meta analysis:
The totality of available scientific evidence supports that intake of milk and dairy products contribute to meet nutrient recommendations, and may protect against the most prevalent chronic diseases, whereas very few adverse effects have been reported.
& another one:
It does appear that protein from animal sources is an important source of protein for humans from infancy until mature adulthood. However, the potential health concerns associated with a diet of protein consumed primarily from animal sources should be acknowledged. With a proper combination of sources, vegetable proteins may provide similar benefits as protein from animal sources. Maintenance of lean body mass though may become a concern. However, interesting data does exist concerning health benefits associated with soy protein consumption.
In athletes supplementing their diets with additional protein, casein has been shown to provide the greatest benefit for increases in protein synthesis for a prolonged duration. However, whey protein has a greater initial benefit for protein synthesis
Steak.
Ya, A steak right now would be nice.. Used to get stuff from a local farmer, gotta say grass fed taste so much better.
Don't overthink it.
Try to get a variety of protein sources.
Why?
Because protein isn't the only thing we need to pay attention too and the more variety of protein sources you have, the higher the chance of getting plenty of different and essential micronutrients and further different composition of amino acids.
That being said, I'd prioritize protein sources which have a high biological availability, such as for example:
*eggs
*Whey
*milk
etc.
and additionally food that is high in leucine (such as beef)
Hope that helps
