+ 1 Localized Pump After Injury and Severe Muscle Atrophy
I want to experiment with something but AI/Google isnt helping me for what I thought is an easy question, so Ill ask yall experts. Im looking for an injectable for pump in target muscles, specifically my left triceps and pec. I know this is a thing, but dont know what "the thing" is. Ill explain;
I had a brachial plexus injury, specifically a rare form of brachial neuritis, also called Parsonage-Turner Syndrome. This is an auto-immune condition in which the body actively attacks nerves, mostly after an injury, sometimes after taking vaccines (im pure), but often for no reason at all. Mine was the latter, came out of nowhere last October. Its rare, and very frustrating. Basically, white blood cells target nerves at random and cause massive damage. When the nerves die, the muscles have no signal and they shrink at rapid pace. Just for reference, my right arm is 18.5", my left arm is now 15" since the triceps has withered away. The pec also shrank quite drastically, but seems to be slowly recovering. I can at least flex it now.
After my last EMG, my neurologist says signal is slowly returning, the nerves are healing and regrowing, and I am clear to start hypertrophy training on my now-small and weak tri and pec. So this brings me to my original question, what can I use to increase blood and really pump these muscles while working them. It will be a slow road, but I think flooding them with blood will be beneficial.

I know this is an old post but HGH plus igf-lr3 and a tens unit just might be the answer
Forget juice for now
It’s kinda rare among vendors but Ara-290 is a peptide for neuropathic help and inflammation. I’ve heard some pretty great results from others running it for nerve damage
Looked into it, but from what ive learned its best use case is smaller nerves such as those in the fingers and toes, and at skin level. Doesnt do much to speed axonal growth in the larger, deep nerves
Thats not to say there couldnt be anecdotal evidence otherwise. I appreciate the suggestion
I’m dealing with something similarishhhh? I have disk protrusions @ c6/7 and 5/6 that are pinching a nerve.( runs down my left arm) Along with the horrible effects the pinched nerves are causing, it has caused very significant muscle loss in my left tricep and left pec. It’s like half my tricep just doesn’t exist anymore. The part that forms the top of the horseshoe is just non existent. And my left peck is significantly smaller than my other one. My left side either doesn’t fire at all. Or over fires and causes cramps. This muscle loss is over the span of only about 2 months. It’s one of the most insane things I’ve seen. Went from 30 pushups a min pretty easily, to not even being able to hold myself up in the ready position. I’m just hoping using them will help get things back eventually. Feel for you man..
I'm in the beginning stages of this myself - left side brachial plexus problems, lat and pec are shrinking on me. If I try to flex it, it just feels mushy. How is recovery going? Any PT specific techniques you found worked?
If you are early, you are lucky. If you havent yet, find a brachial plexus specialist, not just a neurologist. You need someone who actually knows what to look for. You need to determine what the cause was/is, and if its been resolved or still acute. This will determine course of PT. If you still have the ability to move the arm at the shoulder, look up "D1/D2 exercises for bp injury". one thing I will suggest (besides seeking out the specialist!) is keep flexing the affected muscles multiple times per day, just contract and hold for a few seconds even if it feels like nothing is happening. You have to keep the neuro connection going
If you havent yet, find a specialist in brachial plexus injuries. And time definitely matters!! At only 2 months in, youre in a much better spot than me and my shitty VA health care. I had to go private to get real answers. It will come back, but nerves are slow
My gf is a hippy and a RN…. she saying “cupping” and dry-needling (localized acupuncture) might work. The whole point of cupping is, in her words, “improve blood circulation through localized negative pressure”. It essentially creteas a vacuum to lift skin, fascia, and muscle….. whatever the fuck that means
Ask her if I should cup pre-workout? My Asian wife says cupping too
She says right after lifting and your tricep/peck off days, essentially when the muscle is building/recovering/growing.
Appreciate it man!
Dry needling is a gem for breaking down scar tissue. I don't think it's as mainstream as it should be.
I do it once a month in my lower back and shoulders. It’s actually quite common now in chiropractic offices. I pay $30 for an adjustment and $15 for the dry needling. It’s done wonders on my lower back.
An added bonus is that I get the best night of sleep on days I have it done.
Second this
Injectable aminos Injected bilaterally into the target muscle PWO gives a massive pump. The blend I use occasionally has l-arginine, l-citrulline, l-ornithine, valine and taurine. Only thing that sucks is it falls out of suspension pretty easy and has to be heated up to get it back in.
You already mentioned glycerol monosterate and that promotes a big pump too along with glycine.
Also support this. It’s in my daily PWO stack
Hell yea. Pinning both biceps and both lats on back day never gets old.
Would this be the wrong forum to ask you about splitting dosing when pinning 4 spots?
No you can ask that. The blend I use is a total of 520mg/ml and I usually do 1/2ml per spot, regardless of how many spots I'm pinning. Sometimes I do two spots and sometimes more. I usually just a 5/8" 25ga. Pins super easy because it's water.
Thanks bro. Found the preworkout blends on my usual research site. I’m old but the anticipation of trying something new has me like a kid on Christmas
This already sounds amazing, and I havent even place the order yet.
Fucking feel like Goliath after pinning my biceps
Dude missing the veins is a triumph every time
What happens if it goes intravenously? Im not a rookie, just curious. My stuff just got here, so tomorrow the experiment begins.
Feel this in my soul. I typically just try to stay inside the main vein but I have a few that go horizontal as well
Haha dude same. I'm pretty vascular so it's easy but I'd be scared ASF if I couldn't see them.
This might be the one. Appreciate it
Appreciate the replies. Im still training hard, eating my carbs, hydrating, and taking all the usual pump supps. L-citrulline 10g and liquid glycerol 6g.
Its going to be a slow recovery, so just looking for anything that may help speed the process even if its just a little bit
Wouldn't IGF-1 DES work well for what you are after with it being localized where you inject it rather than systematic like IGF-1 LR3? It would specifically target muscle growth and recovery in which ever muscle you inject it into and as we all know IGF-1 is great for increased and sustained pumps for hours after training.
And since you mention IGF, now I wonder if simply adding GH to my HRT would do the trick. More systemic obviously, but maybe....
Problem with hgh is it can cause inflammation and fluid retention usually go hand in hand with neuropathy or nerve injury...my left leg is numb from l4 l5...I would just go low on the dose .. just from my own personal experience and what my DR tell me but my issues are different...hgh can be great but it can also cause issues a lot people don't think about
That could be it possibly. I recall Vigorous Steve quickly mentioning soemthing when going over a quick preworkout protocol, but cant find it. I have a powerlifting background, my PED knowledge and use has always been very basic. Ill dig into that though.
The only thing i can think of that increases blood flow to the muscle is Cialis. My pumps are fucking insane off it. Idk if you tried it or not yet, or if your medical problems could interfere with it or not? Look into it, its also pretty cheap. Btw i hope your healing journey stays on the straight and narrow, and you make a full recovery back to normalcy, so you can train like a beast once again!
May have to try that. Already using L-citrulline and liquid glycerol, and eating a shit ton of carbs. Worth a try though, and dont think that'd interfere with the neuro side.
Im still training hard. Leg day and back day are balls to the wall still. And am becoming a master of single arm DB press LOL. The size difference is the most frutrating
Yeah i read about the massive difference in your arm sizes, I'm sure it is super fucking annoying and irritating, I gotten Sciatica in February, I haven't trained legs since, I've lost a good bit of size cause of it to. I'm very close to being 100% again, I will probably start leg training again in May. Last year I got a Hernia had to get a surgery for it in March, yet again that fucked my leg training. I seem to have a new issue every year. My goal for the rest of this year and all of next, is to have zero physical problems at all. I hope god hears me and can keep me safe.
Train hard, but smart. Hope things work out for you as well. Seems to be an age thing, for me anyway. Since hitting 40 ive stayed strong and big (until this one), but it seems like one decent size injury per year now LOL
I'm only 32, so i hope i am on the up and up from here on out, and same goes for you bro.
Nope. Pump in specific area is lifting weights. High reps and good carbs
Yep, got those bases covered. Lifting hard (as I can), eating lots of clean carbs, and staying hydrated. But if theres an edge out there, I want it
I have absolutely nothing to contribute here. I just wanted to say that sounds fucking brutal and you must be one hell of a warrior. Stay strong, brother.
Its been quite a mindfuck. But Ive always had that mindset of just doing what we can with what we got. My back is getting massive since there really hasnt been much pressing
That sounds rough, I’m sorry to hear that. So C7-8 affected? Just listening to Vigorous Steve’s Q&A from this past Saturday and he’s talking about site injection/hypertrophy with IGF LR3.
You could also search for an interventional pain practitioner and consider ultrasound or fluoroscopy guided nerve root injections. 5% dextrose hydrodissecrion is nerve healing/protective. Could also consider Wharton’s jelly/exosomes (umbilical cord sourced stem cells). I’d find someone highly rated who doesn’t take insurance, cash based means their results have to be excellent or they would go out of business. None of these treatments would be covered by insurance regardless. Good luck!
No, its not a nerve root issue. That was suspected at first but was determined to be more downstream after all the testing. I have been looking into stem cells, but doing alot of vetting before I dive in.
You mentioned Vig Steve, I coulda sworn hes the one I heard this muscle specific pump thing from. It was at the end of a Q&A a few months back and he quickly rambled off a preworkout protocol in response to a question, and unless im crazy he said "something something, 1 cc of xxxx in each bicep, something something", but I cant find the clip
Srem cells are complicated, there are only a few sources processing them with full chain of custody from the umbilical cord to an FDA certified lab (lab only, stem cells are not fda approved) to the provider.
