Injection sites - Quads, calves, lats
Ok so I been hitting daily injections for the first time. I can't get away with delt+quad only anymore. So I been hitting pretty much everything except traps and lats.
Bis, tris, chest all easy I like those spots.
Glutes, delts and quads when I need to inject more volume, also easy injections. However when I do quads I noticed I do a different spot than what is generally recommended. I hit the Rectus femoris and love it. Never get pip. Dead center between the kneecap and crotch. Never hit a nerve or anything. I am vascular so I can see which veins to avoid, 99% of the time I never even nick a vein or capillary at all.
But everywhere I read about quad injections people say only use vastus lateralus upper outer. Well I have done that. EVERY time I do I hit a NERVE. My leg jumps and I get a tingling sensation through my whole body. As well as slight pip and swelling days after, which I never get with the rectus femoris. I have tried SOO many times and can never find a spot for that upper part of the vastus lateralus muscle.
So whats the deal? I just want to know if its completely safe to inject rectus femoris in the middle. I seen pictures from nursing websites and other drug information articles showing the middle as ok.
Calves. I love it. Easy to pin, painless, no pip whatsoever. Just a little stinging for a few mins until I rub it in the muscle more. I hit the middle/outer area and have no issues there. My calves are split into 3 different shapes but it's 2 muscles. I hit the smaller one around the middle/outer side. I make sure to not inject anywhere close to the muscle separations and hit the middle of the muscle.
Anyways I was reading that it's more likely to get a blood clot in the calves than other muscle groups. Anyone know if calv is safe or not?
Never done lats but considering it. ANyone have experience with this? Is it safe?

...don't see an answer to your quad question...
I pin both the vastus lateralus and rectus femoris without problems.
I tend to pass through a (surface)blood vessel more often when pinning the rectus femoris.
I have pinned the rectus femoris so many times. I love that spot. I literally get zero pain every time. One of my favorite spots overall.
I can not seem to hit the vastus lateralus at all. Every time It's a damn nerve. Horrible pain too leg twitches and everything I must be unlucky and have an extreme amount of nerves all in that area.
I have had more success pinning calves than the vastus lateralus quad site. In fact I have only ever had one successful injection in the vastus lateralus. There was quite a bit of pip though for days after.
pinned my lats for first time and one day later its killing me ,now i am stupid enough to pin the other one tonight and hopefully put it down to virgin muscle
because this every day pinning is getting tiresome a and i need new sites ,my quads are a big fuckn no no :/
why??
WithdrawlI just started pinning lats this year and I love pinning there. It's nice to have a new spot that's so large. They should get used to it.
INTERESTED IN PECS?
how about a 23g 1 inch or should it be 5/8 inch and how much 1ml or less?
el super beastoStart off with half an ml.bro.then work your way up to a full ml.and a ml.and a half.pinned pecs.last week.
slin pins work, but yea 5/8" 25G should be cool too. Depends on how thick your chest is. I like using 5/8" on chest.
I'd start with 0.5ml until you get used to it. But yea chest can hold up to 2ml no prob. start low 0.5ml and work your way up
I can stick my 1.25" all the way in, at a slight angle, but I have some meat around my body. I think the deeper the better as long as you don't hit anything that you shouldn't.
I love lats too. I pin lats, quads, glutes, delts and pecs. pecs though are hit or miss with bad pip. I do 2+cc in lats, quads and glutes and try to keep it about 1.5cc or under for delts and pecs.
I have pinned 29g slin into tris and bis. i use 1 inch (1.5inch for glutes) 25g for everywhere else but not sure if I want to use a 25g for bis or tris
i hear calves can be painful
Ok so here's all that I pin:
glutes, quads, delts, biceps, triceps, lats, ventroglutes, chest and calves.
All are completely painless. I get zero pip no matter where I pin, what I pin or how much I pin. So really I just do the ones that are easy such as
delts, glutes, pecs, lats, quads, biceps and triceps. though I do not pin lats as often. Calves I don't do much often either because its an awkward position to get it in the right spot.
I use 1" or 5/8 inch on everything, usually 23G or 25G. Biceps I just use a slin pin usually
What you using for tris?
Backloading the slins? Ive slinned HGH into bis and tris but I think the oils be to think for slins
Tried pining VG and either I didnt hit it right both sides both times or that site doesnt agree with me. Thinking I missed it cause the pip made it feel like I pinned right into my hip. I had peg leg for 2-3 days!
Tris I use 25 or 27G 5/8" pins Or 29G 1/2" slin pins
VG I noticed has a lot of cappilaries in it so I don't tend to pin there often.
I've always wanted to do calves but I'm afraid of hitting a nerve. Before I inject into a new site, biceps for an example, I will google nerves in bicep. When I did this with calves I noticed there are a lot of nerves in the calf muscle.
So my question is have you ever hit a nerve in the calf and does is it painful?
I'm sure I've hit nerves in my quad because there are times I will be inserting the pin and my muscle will twitch and the pin will almost shoot out of my leg. But I've heard stories from guys saying it will hurt like hell if you hit a nerve? I guess it depends on the type of nerve? Maybe you know.
I'm sure there are a good amount of nerves in calves but I have never hit one. I inject on the side of the muscle so I never have a problem. I also use a slin pin 1/2" so I don't go very deep.
As for pain from hitting a nerve, it depends on how hard you hit it. I've had times in quads where I nick a nerve and it only hurts for a second, Ive had times where my whole leg shakes/twitches, and I've had a time where it twitched then hurt quite a bit the next day. But it's pretty rare that I hit nerves now, I'm so used to which spots are best for me, I know the spots to avoid
Thanks for the info bro +1! I'm going to go ahead and try pinning my calves today. I don't mind some pip but I am scarred shit less to hit a painful nerve, I don't know maybe I'm just over thinking it. I'll use a slin pin 1/2" like you recommend.
WithdrawlI recently started doing lats and I love it. 3cc no problem for me. No pain. Only problem I encountered was blood when I aspirated once so be sure to aspirate. Go to spotinjections.com and check out the lat section. Actually the whole damn site is great for reference.
I'm planning to incorporate lats on my next cycle. Seems easy enough to reach and the more rotation the better!
Cool I will try that one next. I have a bunch of veins on my lat right at the surface of my skin so I can easily see where not to pin. Do you go like under your armpit or more on the side?
WithdrawlLol, I have a bunch of veins to dodge too. I go in the middle, a little towards the outside. If you go higher you'll get your upper Lat, and lower will get your lower Lat. I usually hit my lower lat, although I've hit upper before on accident. I have yet to hit a nerve, but I do put the needle in really slow because the area does feel a bit more sensitive than areas like the glutes or delts. If you look at the pic on spotinjections.com where the guy reaches across and puts his hand on the opposing shoulder, that's exactly how I do it.
I do the same, middle of my lat. No pain as long as I keep the test-p at a low dose and for me its an easy spot to hit. I use 26gauge 1inch
Thanks a lot I got a visual in my head from your description, I'll try it out maybe tomorrow. What size pin should I use?
I got
23G x 1"
25G x 1"
27G x 1"
27G x 5/8"
27 x 1/2"
29 x 1/2
was thinking the slin pin but thats only 1/2 inch is that deep enough?
I just got some 27g 1.25" pins. I use an 18g to load them and since I use a concentrated mix I don't pin more than 1ml EOD. The oil trickles out slowly so I am forced to take my time, which is good. It first I had to readjust my hand while pinning, but now I have better hand dexterity with them and don't have a problem.
Withdrawl23G 1" is what I use.
