So you've tried a new product and want to tell us what you think? That's great - we'd love to know. But first, here are a few things to keep in mind...

What IS the product? It's not always obvious from the name whether you're reviewing a protein powder, a creatine product, a fat-burner, etc.

Can you give us a breakdown of the ingredients/nutritional data?

Does the product make big claims? What are they, and does it live up to them?
TIP: You can often get all this information off the manufacturer's website. If you do copy-and-paste, it's a good idea to use the [Quote] function. This helps people see which bits are the product's claims, and which bits are your review.

How much does it cost? How many serves? For the results you get, is it cost-effective?

Are you giving the product a fair trial? Are there other factors involved that might be "fudging" or distorting the results?

How does your product compare with other similar products you've tried?

Is there anything else we might want to know? Taste? Texture? Solubility? Side effects?

Finally, reread your review, and check your spelling and grammar. Sure, we're not marking you on this, but a well-written review is easier to read, so we'll appreciate your efforts much more. Besides, it's really just good manners.

The benefits of writing a review are threefold. Firstly, you help other people make informed choices about their next purchase. Secondly, you provide valuable feedback to the manufacturer (especially if they're a NZ company) so they can find ways of improving the product for you. Finally, writing a review forces you to analyse the product and its effect, making you more in tune with your body and ultimately increasing your awareness as a bodybuilder.
