silver389Its hard to remember that we are never promised another day here in life. We get consumed and at times swallowed by our problems. Our bodies in a way become our problems vessel. We become slave to stress and thinking that isn't true to who we are. Life is a continuous test of problems thrown our way interrupted by brief moments of true happiness. Brother you can't let difficult situations mess with certain things you like to do. The sort of things that bring you that "happiness" as shit crumbles around you...or else you're wasting your own short time here on earth. I know for me lifting has been my savior especially during the hard moments. Use your spirit...the energy that makes you, you...to give yourself the strength to enjoy this passion we all share. Lift with passion brother, problems come and go but the weights aren't anything without you there to lift them. So eat well and know you need the rest in between to maximize what you love doing!
RustyhookerAgree. Compounds issues with more worries. No bueno davey
BigBmajEmotional stress takes a huge toll on everything. Some people handle it better than others. I've always been very susceptible to losing appetite and sleep the second things get strange.
I used to quickly fall into a place of self pity, it's still my natural tendency. Now I have to look at it differently. I ask myself "how much power am I going to give this situation?" I know it's stupid to think I can brush it off - I can't. But I can choose how I let it affect me.
Does it make me go use drugs and loose it all?
Does it make me loose my physique?
Or
Do I acknowledge my pain (I'm not weak to feel sad - it is sad) and then choose to go to the gym, eat a meal, call a friend.
Life is really only a matter of how well I deal with what happens to me. And that is MY CHOICE.
Good luck brother. It's easier said than done.
*Yes it is! Very much so! You need to keep your head above water and keep your focus. Use your training and diet as a channel for the pain it causes you. You can either let it consume you and eat you up from the inside out or you can use that as fuel to drive that motivational motor!!! If you train hard, you'll sleep well and your body will demand FOOD! Let all the frustration out on the iron! Good luck!
I've defiantly noticed channeling the anger gives you a lot better focus and anger to drive you to an even greater failure
The want to get bigger and better myself came out of a screwed up relationship. After I got out of jail my mindset was "look at what you're missing out on. You ain't ever gonna get this back".....she did though lol...I mean we didn't get back together but hung out a few times and put it in her butt.
Stress and depression. Gave me an ulcer a few years back at the age of 24. I think I've been most healthy when single. Until now, the girl I'm with helps me and supports me better than any other. So I'm gonna marry her, got engaged a few weeks ago. I realized she makes me a better person, and I can't lose her.
If someone makes your life worse, then get them out of your life.
Also she supported the steroid use and was gonna compete with me next year in a competition
This was my fuck up. got addicted to pills and cheated on her for 6 months
In no way am I trying to justify your actions, but generally when ppl cheat there is a reason for it. possibly you were not as happy in the relationship as you thought....ppl tend to romanticize a relationship when they're out of it....obviously the pill addiction is something you need to address with out without a women in you life....there are 7 billion ppl on the planet you will def find someone else for sure....I would def not give up bodybuilding but u should def focus on yourself and what led you to cheat and to the pill addiction...forgive yourself and address the problems, learn from them, then move past it....
I do agree a broken heart is a truly sucky feeling working out is one thing that will keep your endorphins high and minimize some of that shitty feeling.... keep your chin...this too shall pass
I've had my issues with addiction as well. But still man, if she can't understand why addiction can change you and won't love you through recovery, then move on. I've learned my lessons on how to not get too hung up on girls that aren't worth it.....even though I do still think about them.
I can't blame her for being pissed honestly, the bad thing was she never knew I had an addiction
Yes... I've learned that twice ;P... Love is stronger than any drug in the world... It can bring you down, and it can make you feel more euphoric than Dbol, or a real drug like meth..
Best thing to do, is to give up the gym and this lifestyle for a while and focus on the relationship!!! My ex who I was with told me I was more like a roommate because of my lifestyle, and that's after 4 years of being with her......... It hurts worse than anything..
Lmao.... complete opposite of what I posted
It's fine, I agree with you as well. There's many sides to each question, right? ;)
I told my ex I'd give up bodybuilding for another chance and I highly doubt I'm Gonna get that chance
Sigh.... I didn't get that chance either, and I did give it up..... She found another man while we were dating, who wasn't obsessed with things and gave her all the time in the world.. I wish i was that man at that time, and I should've seen it. it is what it is though, and you need to find the right person to accept you. Even if you can never accept it, there is always another woman for each man.
That's the thing I'm a stubborn sob and I'm not gonna give up... Bad thing is We dated for 3 years and I think she's already talking to someone and we have only been broke up for 3 months
Oh man.. I'm stubborn as hell too... Honestly, just leave them alone. If they want to, they will come back to you. I bothered my ex for 6 months after we broke up while she was with another man, and she hasn't talked to me since the day we broke up. Literally not a single word.
I say either try your best to move on, or just wait patiently and see what happens.... I waited and after a year or so I just gave up. It is what it is, and at least I know she's happy.
Yeah that's probably what I'll do cause she thinks I'm full of shit on the addiction part changing you
royk gave you good advice bro. I've been in your shoes and I've fucked up more than one good relationship with some women who honestly deserved better than me. Sometimes it's just best to move the fuck on and accept things for how they really are. If she loves you she'll come back but if not just pretend like she's dead and get on with your life
Thats how i dealt with my similar situation years ago.
I figured people would probably think I was kidding when I said that but I'm being dead honest! I had to go to that extent to change my thinking habits and get my mind on other things that matter. No need in worrying about something you have no control over
Yeah that's probably what I'll do cause she thinks I'm full of shot on the addiction part changing you
Unless you're a girl, you'll vent by eating more. LOL
Yup!!!! Men don't eat when depressed, women eat A LOT when depressed.
Lol i wish!!
