Let’s just say I hope most sources ship by stork and not by whale.
I hear we’re back in business, just saw a video of the cargo ships being unloaded, I guess they signed a deal till January
Jammed
Packed ,, civil service continues to baffle me,
Depending on how much of a puppet you are to the man you’ll get grade changes, you’re told to snitch eachother out, don’t clique up don’t get close.
The unions in NYC are still and example of strong unions based upon some merit based increase, you can’t fuck off putting steel up and not be on time when the teamsters arrive, to me it’s a well oiled machine.
I’ve been targeted at work cause the clowns I worth with use minorities for seasonal help then fuck them and keep them down, yo this shit fucking disgusts me.
People aren’t inherently evil nor does the majority get off on hurting others but that systemic corruption is hurting others because your pocketbook grows, I’m able to live pretty comfortably right now but I wouldn’t doubt if some member of local congress is reading what I post on eroids.
This bag of dicks is one of the reasons people hate unions. He's the head of the gulf and east coast longshoreman unions. He honestly looks gleeful to me about how much damage he's going to do to your average American by going on strike and holding the country hostage.

That guy fkn disgusts me.
Turns out that asshat makes $900k/year, drive a bentley and has a 75' yacht he cruises around the bay on. So he is the 1% he pretends to be fighting against. Also he's been brought up on racketeering charges several times but the feds haven't made anything stick. He def comes off as a mobster kinda guy.
Me too, total dirtbag
The strike is almost over
This some NA problem we EU wouldn't understand?
The people who off load cargo ships in 65 different ports from Maine to Texas have gone on strike. No ships will be getting unloaded until they work this shit out. Or until the president enacts the law in place to force them back to work. But they probably want the chaos.
Where is biden and kamala
There not in the south , north carolina
There not in Georgia, There not at the ports fixing this shit and there definitely not over in isreal war
BIDEN WHERE THE F-uck are you
Kamala is staying in campaign mode so the Biden administration wont force them to work because they are trying to save the votes of labor workers. Just like they want the young college votes so wont fully support Israel and lose the pro-palestinian young voters. The country will suffer till November.
The fix is in already.
They come to agreement?
I was referring to the outcome of what happens in November.
Oh i see.
That bitch is probably somewhere cackling away at the thought of all the dead and destitute.
The cackle in chief?
They need to get prime minister Trudeau involved... He's an expert at this sort of thing.
Chaos or taking care of a bunch of dudes in short amount of time?
Yes.
I live in Baltimore and my wife works in logistics. Causing a nightmare for her company. Def some misinformation out there on both sides. The media isn't truely getting either side.
What information could you give us?
Oh man I’m sure of that, it’s always the case. Give us a little insider info
AK80Easy solution: Stock up. They want better benefits (fairly easy to do) but also $5 raises per hour, per year, for the next 6 years. That means they want an 8% raise for the first year (normally companies do up to like 4% for cost of living adjustments)
The problem is the inflation, yeah 2-3% is common, I’ve seen 4% for wage raises, but let’s meet in the middle and say overall cost of living inflation, the stuff we see everyday like groceries, utilities, fuel, etc… is at 15%, an 8% raise is a setback. It’s very simple math, say you’re a paycheck to paycheck guy but you can save a couple or a few hundred every month. The cost of life just went up 15% and your paycheck went up 2%, it’s a hard fail.
Thats what my company gives and hasnt changed in last 14 years. 0-2% raise annually. Depends on your performance
Also, raises just to meet inflation means you’re net zero every year. That is zero growth or progress. I’ll be damned if I’m making the same amount relatively from year 1 of my career to year 30. Sure your absolute dollar amount may have gone up but your relative buying power has stayed the same. You never moved ahead in life for slaving away at that company that whole time
Fuck the 3-4% raise every year bullshit. COLAs should be a requirement. Then additional raises on top of that to match your performance in your job.
I agree with you. The problem with unions is it’s not performance based. Good for some but bad for others. Hard to outpace inflation with wage increases in a contract when it goes to every employee, deserving or not.
Oh yea I don’t live in a union state. Never have. That’s a shame that’s how they operate. I strongly believe in a merit based system. Should be the only way to determine pay. Got no problem with a doctor or ceo making 1, 10, or 50M a year as long as that’s how much value they bring to the table based off their performance.
My union has stopped Merit system based raises
Acouple contracts now. They find it hard to believe supervisors will give unbiased reviews…..
I mean suckin dick can be quite meritorious…
You should of told me this 35 years ago lol
Exactly this, exactly. I’m no communist, but I feel even a burger flipper at 40-50 hours week should be able to afford a small apartment. Public transportation, a meager living, but even an apartment is out of reach for those workers. Things have gotten way out of hand. I’m all for capitalism, but treat your workers right, right?
I think Covid gave companies an excuse to take advantage of “inflation.” Claim shortages so you can jack prices up 30%. What they did was jack up profit margins. Cost of living is as high at is right now due to opportunistic greed. And those increased profit margins definitely aren’t going back in to the company in terms of investing towards your staff with better pay/incentives to work better/harder.
You understand it 100%, greed is disgusting.
Just hearing about this now. They'd better give those people whatever their asking for
According to a local guy who works as a long shore man in nyc they're asking for 50-70% raises. Sounds like a whole lot of not chance in hell to me.
This same guy says that they are demanding raises because automation is taking a bunch of their jobs. But he also says they can't find people who are willing to do the work. So what exactly are the companies supposed to do if they can't fill the positions?
Did he give a ratio of how long it will take to catch up? I’d imagine those ships are going to stack up. Like for every 24 hours not worked it will take 36 to get back on track? Or 48, or more? It’s not like there’s an endless supply of trucks waiting for the offloads, the containers still need storage space on dock, and moving the ships isn’t like trading parking spots at Walmart…
Not that i heard. But how do you give a ratio on something you don't have the details on? Something that lasts a week or two isn't going to be nearly as bad as a couple months.
Ask for 50% settle at 20
The union turned down 50% raises because managment wouldnt agree to stop the automation machines
Now the workers make between $88,000 up to 200,00 a year depending if they want to work overtime
And if you don’t work overtime you’ll never get a civil service grade increase
@ChuckThaDuck22
100 %. They will say Lets bring up the elephant in the room .. im like what , Oh you have missed some overtime. Made 90% but that doesnt matter its the 10% you couldnt make.
My supervisor gave the two autistic kids civil service jobs before any of us were moved in on the list, cause their mom bends over and takes it from the boss, he paid for her lip and Botox, and fake titties,.
That's absolute insanity to turn down.
I work in an at will state. I'd jack all the union guys off to get in and get a job with em
Same, but only the foreman is getting tugged
You might have better luck with a little gluck gluck
Bro I'll give him this butt butt
Are you going to try the diddy egg test to make sure you're ready to be plowed?
