I think this is a fine idea, but personally, I’ve never had an issue with someone offering illegal substances via PM or the like.
I try to be selective on who I accept as friends here, so maybe that helps. Maybe I’m just old and these folks don’t want to deal with me. Either way it’s a win.

It happens, sometimes regardless of what you do. As long as people take precautions, don’t participate and report it, all will be fine.

jayiski've always told mods about troll srcs and even a shady previous src that hit me up. but that is a tough when its a friend that hit you up. wouldnt want to be put in that situation.
It happened to me about 2 years ago. I told Greg. The 'friend' probably only sent me a friend request to get another potential customer. I felt like a dog for telling Greg, because in my culture you don't dog on your mates, but then....I never met the guy, only had a few exchanges in PM, so it's not like we were close. still, I wasnt comfortable about dobbing the guy, but then, I like being a member of this site, and I also play by the rules. Rules exist for a reason.

It's just something I thought was a good idea to do after recent events and wanted to share in case others wanted to follow suit.
Exactly, from this point forward it doesn't matter how close a friend, how well respected a member, if anyone sends a PM like that they're getting reported. I acted out of foolish impulse and could have done myself and the site serious damage. I truly regret it but what's done is done and all we can do now is move forward having learned a valuable lesson.
Mind if I plagiarize your blurb and just copy/paste into mine?
