Need advice understanding labs where to start?

ad

OK so labs last week LH 0.01 ,FSH <0.02, prolactin 25.7, creatinine 0.72, test serum 398, test Direct 4.8, doc wants me to explore TRT. Just read so much the last week I don't know where to start. My sodium is a little high my cholesterol levels are great. My liver is great. .
Thanks

Ok now if you all got that out. So here goes and no never pinned before. Feb my labs had test serum @248 and total at 2.7 this was my family Dr. Just thinking my issue, weight gain, low energy,no libido, was all from thyroid they found my test to be off so he started me on test cyp 100mg 1x month March, April I got injection in office,. I couldn't afford the $600 gel my insurance company won't cover. I was referred to endocrinologist who ordered labs and said come back. In the mean time my family Dr said he'd lean on not stopping the injections like the endo. Suggested and doing TRT. My labs on 5/29 were what I posted above.

What is:
- your current body fat %?
- Current stress level?
- your current diet?
- current supplements (fish oil? pregnenalone? DHEA? Vitamin D?)
- your current state of health? (Fat and out of shape? Thin and exercise all the time?)

The answers to these questions will provide the real solution that you need.

I don't know my body fat is my last BMi is 24.1 I'm 5,6 157 6/. I had some stomach issues and polyps removed (pre cancerous) so I eat chicken, oats, carbs, do alot of veggies cabbage and kale. I don't eat junk honestly.
My lipid panel was great and my kidneys over work he said I'm under the norm
I take multi vitamin, Cinnamon 1000mg , nugenix, in April and may I received 1injection of 100mg test cyp.
I have 6 kids from 13yrs-2yrs old 4boys 2 girls so I have a little stress.
I was in shape I have an athletic build across my stomach and sides my body is storing fat, I'm really weak now. In 2010 I was 181 benched 220
I go to the gym 3x week. Do cardio, abs, and chest.
My endocrinologist stopped test injection, because he said my age (35) and the risks of heart disease. My family Dr said he would increase test cyp to 200mg/mo. If I want to do TRT treatment. He also suggested that I get HCG and he would do it in office. I have BCBS insurance that don't pay for anything really except generic prescriptions so it's been a fight with them on everything. I get my labs done next month to see were my levels have settled to since they stopped the test in May. The concern was my LH and FSH are so low and prolactin high they think maybe a tumor. I waiting for the preauthorization for an MRI.
I just feel like shit.

HCG worked miracles for my well-being. Even with Test injections, I still feel miles better with the addition of hCG. BTW, I am permanently on TRT due to a pituitary tumor.

Keep kicking in doors until you get treated right. Your well-being ought to be your endocrinologist first priority. +1 for getting started. Don't ever stop.

The reason your LH And FSH are so low is you have been getting exogenous T injections. It may take months with PCT for their levels to return to normal.

test serum 398, test Direct 4.8, doc wants me to explore TRT.

Bullshit.

Cut back on your sodium and call it a day.

I'm a newb so I can imagine there's alot of bullshit on here maybe when your test levels drop and your in you PCT phase you'd be willing to give a newb some advice with all that experience you got!

Greg's picture

I'm 58, my levels had dropped years ago and my doc would have laughed me out of the office had I suggested I needed TRT with your levels fist stated to be at 400. Which are nearly twice as high as mine. There is no "PCT phase for me."

The bullshit gets deeper when in May you're posting you have test levels at 400 and now you're posting you have 248. Which, perhaps, could be in part due to you stopping your treatment with your endocrinologist for a few weeks prior to going back to your GP?

The bullshit continues to flow when you state you went to an endocrinologist but decided to post here this statement, "Just read so much the last week I don't know where to start.."
Naturally If I was in your shoes, I'd do the same thing. I'd go to the internet and find some random steroid forum and ask them instead of asking my endocrinologist or my GP.

So let's go with your new story. It sucks, but you should have your doc work out your TRT regimen first. It is not as simple as having him pick a random dose and you're done. You can cut costs by insisting he teaches you, (and your wife), how to administer your injection at home. Have him argue your case with the insurance company. They will pick up the cost if they believe that this is not an "elective" procedure (like getting a nose job to look better v. getting a nose job because you suffer a breathing defect.)
Insurance companies will gladly pay for your TRT if they believe that it will prevent more costly health issues later on.

Short answer, back with you doctor,

DragonDog's picture

Something is not right. Nonexistent LH and FSH, but normal testosterone?! He had to be pinning before the blood was drawn.

zeusmarada's picture

That's my guess too.

No doc is going to put you on TRT with levels close to 400.

Tireguy1983's picture

I wouldn't say no doc will put him on at 400 cause mine put me on at 495. I should have weighted but that was 3 years ago and tried coming totally off a couple times and after stopping pct drugs settle low 200s so I have kinda just come to accept it but if I was doing it all over again I would deffinetly weight to go on trt.

Well my Dr is my serum levels are up for 248 test serum and 2.7 total. I've never used AS before my family Dr thought it was a thyroid and just on whim checked my test levels. Now they ordered and mri of my pituitary gland thinking its a tumor. I'm just trying to understand all this so I came here because I have 6 kids I can't afford all the TRT treatment and the $600 gels. I know that AS and PCT are along the lines of what I have going on for me so if I have to do a cycle or pct I'm just trying to gain the right knowledge and understanding and where better then here. The Dr's say all kinds of stuff . I had to fight the insurance company to approve test injection cyp 100mg 1x in May and cyp100mg 1x April. Thanks
