ad
My boy Sarge stedanko started a very popular thread called "inspiring quotes". He hasn't been around lately. Probably off in some 3rd world shit hole shooting up some jihadi's so I'm Gona start another just for quotes period. Inspiring quotes are nice. But sometimes I'm feeling cynical or sarcastic and shit like that doesn't belong In an inspiring quotes section. Some of my favorites come from Winston Churchill. He was a sarcastic bastard and I love it. Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, among others. So post your favorite quotes. Doesn't matter the context. We all love a good quote. One that I happen to like at the moment

He who looks in through an open window never sees as much as he who looks at a window that is shut. There is nothing more profound, more mysterious, more fertile, more sinister, or more dazzling, than a window lighted by a candle. What we can see in the sunlight is always less interesting than what transpires behind the panes of a window. In that dark or luminous hole, life lives, life dreams, life suffers.
French poet-Charles Baudelaire. "Windows"
StevebThe problem with Canada is half the people their speak French, and the other half let them.
"They hate us cause they ain't us."
“If the words ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness’ don’t include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn’t worth the hemp it was written on.”
-Terence McKenna
StevebLet me inhale slowly, slowly, the aroma of your hair, let me plunge my face into it like a man who thirsts and drinks the water of a spring, let me wave your tresses with my hand like a perfumed handkerchief shaking out my memories in the air. If you could know all that I see, all that I feel, all that I hear in your hair! My soul wanders over its
perfume as the souls of other men wander over music.
Let me slowly bite your heavy black hair. When I nibble at your flexible and rebellious tresses, it seems to me that I am feeding upon memories.
French poet-Charles Baudelaire "A Hemisphere in Tresses"
"You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice."
-Bob Marley

And freedom tastes of reality,
If I told you what it takes
To reach the highest high,
You'd laugh and say 'nothing's that simple'
But you've been told many times before
Messiahs pointed to the door
And no one had the guts to leave the temple!

Steveb“We are
Born like this
Into this
Into these carefully mad wars
Into the sight of broken factory windows of emptiness
Into bars where people no longer speak to each other
Into fist fights that end as shootings and knifings
Born into this
Into hospitals which are so expensive that it’s cheaper to die
Into lawyers who charge so much it’s cheaper to plead guilty
Into a country where the jails are full and the madhouses closed
Into a place where the masses elevate fools into rich heroes”
Charles Bukowski

" Only through compulsion can there be absolution " - Dean Calderon
good old Dean. have you ever met him? He is very .... different ;-) (he doesn't know it but he helped me take my first iron dog award )
He is a trip. I met him a few times. He was pretty decent friends with a guy we trained with years ago. Have not seen him in years though. Thinking of different individuals...have you ever met T Floyd. Now that guys a trip! When your training is flat you got to go to Jersey to get your T injection.
Dean is a great trainer and I'd probably kick his ass if I trained under him. The way he talks to some of the people he trains is ... inflammatory ..lmao... He trains at our field when he is in town .. I have not met Floyd. I may hit you up in pm I ve got some questions you may be able to help with ;-)
Anon"All over the place, from popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they have is to ratify decisions and to consume." - Noam Chomsky
Anon"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."

"You wanna be makin' moves on the street, allow nothing to be in your life that you cannot walk away from in 30 seconds flat if you spot the heat around the corner." - Robert De Niro (Heat)
Anon"Declare your jihad on thirteen enemies you cannot see -egoism, arrogance, conceit, selfishness, greed, lust, intolerance, anger, lying, cheating, gossiping and slandering. If you can master and destroy them, then you will be ready to fight the enemy you can see."
Abu Hamid al-Ghazali
Anon"She would be one of those who kneel to their own shadows till feet grow on their knees; then go down on their hands till their hands grow into feet; then lay their faces on the ground till they grow into snouts; when at last they are a hideous sort of lizards, each of which believes himself the best, wisest, and loveliest being in the world, yea, the very centre of the universe. And so they run about for ever looking for their own shadows that they may worship them, and miserable because they cannot find them, being themselves too near the ground to have any shadows; and what becomes of them at last, there is but one who knows."
George MacDonald
Anon"I'm tired of being told that its too hard or that for some twisted reason that I can't. Why can't I? Why must another preach about about hard work and sacrifice and about dedication. They think I don't have what it takes to give it my best. To lay my heart and soul on the line.
The sun doesn't shine for just a precious few. The rain doesn't just fall on the weak and timid. Life isn't easy. Life is living each and every day on the brink of breaking. Pushing ourselves to the limits of our minds hearts and bodies. To achieve greatness I must be willing to die for it. To climb out of hell one bloodied fingernail at a time. To deal with pain that may be unbearable and unimaginable. To tell whatever Gods may be that I am unconquerable. I can and I WILL"

RustyhookerBest quote ever. Thanks Darktide! The site misses you.
'Those who hate true discipline are always going to hate whomever brings it.'
“Forgiveness takes intelligence, discipline, imagination, and persistence, as well as a special psychological strength, something athletes call mental toughness and warriors call courage.”
