Muscle car of your dreams!

ad

Mostly alpha males around here. Whats that one car that gets you feeling like a kid when you talk about it? The one you would drive everyday in a perfect world! It doesn't have to be a muscle car, mine just happens to be. 1967 Shelby Mustang aka Eleanor!

Sadly, Eleanor was a Hollywoodized 'stang and not an actual production. That being said the one of my dreams would be a '68 GT500 KR Convertible 'stang. 428PI, 4spd (damned few of those made, and I know where one is at, a friends mom has owned it since new!) As for the movie Eleanor (the original Eleanor was actually a '73 Mach I) I picked up a '67 6cyl coupe a couple years ago that had a tree limb mash the roof that I am (slowly) making into a Eleanor convertible clone.

I agree, the remake was better action-wise, altho the chase scene in the original was not a bad scene and when you consider when it was shot was pretty cutting edge at the time. As for the 73 Mach, it's not at the top of my list, but I wouldn't turn one down if it was given to me either! Smile On a different note, passed a CLEAN 72 convertible 'stang today! Only mods were the chrome tips on the exhaust out the back. Other than that nice and stock, just plain clean!!

Definately gotta love the 'stangs!!! My first car was a '67, 289 HiPo, 4spd and Cragar SS wheels

Interesting. So the original 67' is a nice pretty shell with nothing under the hood?

Garageth's picture

IIRCC, the motor sound effects during the chase scenes in the remake were actually from a big block 'vette. Altho a true GT500 would be big block powered, the majority of the clones are actually small block cars. The movie used a mix of BB and SB's as I recall.

Any INDEED!! Sorry to the import junkies I respect them all but give me American Muscle ALL DAY!

all fox mustangs in general from 87-93 both coup and hatch back and also love the sn95 (94-95).

eatbig's picture

oooh, they'r sweet. I love the way they look with a cowl hood and some weld racing drag lights OMG. You must have recently got it cuz I seen the pics with you and the (96-98?) cobra and didn't see a fox in those pics. That cobra looked nice too. I think I seen goth say he put a supercharger on that one, but I don't know if he was joking. Ive messed with mustangs forever and probably will do so the rest of my life. I just love those cars. I got 2 of them and my girl has 1 also Smile

The tail lights threw me off. They must have been replaced with the 96-98 at one time. I bet its fast as hell. My 94 is carburated with a turbo, 5 speed, built small block, and sliks. If you guys ever run into some problems or have some questions about the stangs or just wanna talk cars, you can PM me anytime.

X2 on the 67 mustang, that was my first car and the one I learned to drive in.

I remember the first ads for the Mustang, Maverick, and Pinto. They were about $2,000 new. I remember thinking to myself how easy it would be to save up for one of those...
