+ 1 Frequency of Complications
ad
I am about to embark on my first cycle and employing the old adage that it is better to ask forgiveness than permission. However, after ready about extremediezel's recent troubles I am wondering what my odds are of having to ask forgiveness. Although this will be my first cycle I am well versed on proper injection protocol and keeping things sterile. So my question is this, how common are complications?
I was planning on running CENSORED Test Cyp, so there is only 1 pin / week.

Thank you everyone for your insight and responses, it has allayed my fears and I will be proceeding with my plans. With that settled, I am off to work on the diet and make sure that is in check and finish up the routine plan. Will post my cycle plans and stats in the cycle section in the near future. Keeping my fingers crossed the advise helps refine the cycle and does not simply turn me into a bobo doll.
i cant speak on frequency based on others, but in almost 20 yrs pinning off and on i have had issues 2 times, once my fault not being thorugh with cleanliness in a rush. the second time was contaminated gear. so id say the frequency is low by comparison. these things are real parts of using AAS it happens. ive learned that its something to plan for rather than ignore. id rather be prepared than not. i get antibiotics and keep on hand. i do this twice a year, depending on the antibiotics shelf life more. theyre cheap so its not a big deal to keep them on hand
Everyone covered the sterility but also din't pin too much at once or keep pinning in the same area.
Quads are typically a first cycle pin location of choice due to the easy access of the site. Alternate between legs. Try and incorporate additional pin sites. e.g., glutes, delts, etc.
Abscesses and infections scare me to death. I don't know who would even maintain any statistical data on "complications" but I know a lot of people that use and neither myself or anybody I know has ever had a problem. When I wash my hands before touching vials, syringes, etc., I either let my hands air dry or I'll take the chance and use a paper towel - I don't want my hands coming in contact with any bathroom or kitchen towels I normally use for washing my hands, that's for sure. If I'm gonna pin multiple sites - I also take a shower before I start the whole process - a friend that's a nurse told me that doing that sure ins't gonna hurt anything - and again - I'll let my body air dry and not touch any bath towels. Pinning yourself is serious business. I think everyone below has got every nugget of this covered.
GearofWarYeah, sterility is key. Don't fuck around and take chances AT ALL. Make sure to always wipe down your vial, and injection site every time. When I pin I make it close to ritualistic. It takes the guesswork out of everything. I put some music on, lay my shit all out; pins, vials, alcohol wipes, etc. Let your vial air dry after wiping it down with alcohol prep pads. Try not to remove and reinsert the sharp multiple times into and out of the vial if possible. Due to the increased risk of sterility being compromised. Some guys will replace their needles with new after drawing from the vial because they claim the pin is dulled after being inserted through the rubber stopper and is not done for the sake of cleanliness(waste of time IMO, but hey do your own thing). Thoroughly clean and wipe the injection site with an alcohol prep pad or swab prior to injection. Just as with the vial allow the injection site to air dry before pinning. When you do inject, dear God please make sure that you're aspirating properly. If you're not aspirating properly you're begging for troubles. When I'm done injecting I usually wipe the injection site with alcohol again for good measure. Using these quick tips I can confidently say that I've never had so much as an issue. Ever(knocks on wood). And whatever you do, don't waste your time shooting Test sub cutaneously with a slin pin. It won't end well. Viking knows what I'm talking about, lol! Other than that welcome to the brotherhood.
Very thorough ... you sure yous not a doc lol
Get some fine nosed pliers bro for pulling out the pin stubs when they snap... and when you pin abs and then hear a hissing noise dont panic its just a little gas blowing out from the Hi-Pro diet..... also always pin were you clearly see so that when you get a big fountain spurt on you can slap on a big band aid instead of having to re-paint that lovely fresh bathroom lol.
Viking, As a noob I tend to be a little on the gullible side. I figured you were joking about orals and latex outfits, but do you really break pins? have you really had blood gushers?
So that's what the hissing noise was from! I thought someone blew a tire next door when I was pinning. Thanks Vike! Also, not to disagree with you, but I find a little red in the bathroom to be a nice touch and a cheap way to redecorate.
Hahahaha... yeah i agree but suze made me re-tile once after i had splattered blood all over the white tile grout.... even bleach would,nt get that shit white again lol.
Since then i never pin delts when they are still fully pumped.... i shit you not i have had 3 foot spurters.
ClassyChassisI've pinned probably thousands of times and never had an issue, so in my case complications are statistically non-existent. Just don't touch stuff with your fingers is my advice. You'll be fine.
Edit: I also leave an 18g in the vial to draw with, so once it's in, it stays in. No in and out, so that might be a reason for my "luck". I use the syringe to push it all the way back in when I'm done, and grab the plastic barrel to unscrew with a swab. Obviously I draw some air from the vial into the syringe before I unscrew it.
I never touch anything that actually has anything going through it, or that pierces my skin. Then I screw a fresh pin on the syringe to inject with, again never touching anything. So I only break the barrier of the seal once. I also keep the vial in a top cabinet that stays mostly closed to keep any random dust particles out, but you could put an upside-down Dixie cup over it or whatever. These solutions are not difficult.
Great information CC! Never thought of only piercing the stopper once. As you said, as long as you are using sterile techniques, you should be fine.
yea, I've been following that too. My suggestion is to just be absolutely certain you're using every sterile technique you're supposed to and do not confuse which needles are fresh and which are used. That story kind of scared me too man especially when I'm about to embark. I've even seen the pros have issues with the exact thing, but shit, it's the risk we take I guess.
I keep remembering those images of the guy with huge arms in the documentary called " the man whose arms exploded"
