+ 2 New Forum Heading
There are posts every week about some cycle being way overkill and/or not showing the proper respect for some of the more advanced compounds. Occasionally, the posting member will heed the advice and back down. However, more often than not, the member will dig in and exhibit their grandiose self-image about how they are really more experienced and knowledgeable than appears. And to add the period to their thoughts, they mention how they have already begun using some of the compounds with no ill effect.
But what is really underlying the thought/decision making process is not knowledge but “adolescent invulnerability” also referred to as the “optimism bias.” Optimism bias is evident when individuals assume more favorable outcomes for the self than for others. Alternatively, individuals report that negative events are more likely to happen to others than to the self. We tend to be optimistic about our chances of getting cancer if we smoke, of contracting an STD if we are sexually active, of surviving a natural disaster if one comes our way. Consequently, if individuals start smoking, take up drugs, drive recklessly or engage in unprotected sex, it is because their decision-making is compromised by optimism bias that, in turn, induces a sense of invulnerability to the harmful consequences of these health compromising behaviors. But do not think this is a phenomena limited to young adults, researchers did show that optimism bias is a general cognitive error and that adolescents were not uniquely disposed to optimism. Meaning, we all suffer from it.
What is the point you ask? Well, as mentioned recently in a post “eroids is a safety first site.” SO, rather than trying correct members one at a time, oft times in private, and then venting in the general forum the frustrations, how about a new forum heading where members can post about their personal misadventures, close calls, and the unfortunate. Senior members who help in private can write about the situation and maybe point out some of the flaws in the distressed member’s logic. The idea being to provide a single place that reminds members that accidents happen, we are dealing with potentially dangerous compounds, and hopefully some will read it prior to starting down a dangerous path. If not, when they post a crazy cycle, members can simply point them to the new section.
Now, I understand that if a member is thorough they can craft a safe and sane cycle using information on the site. But remember, the alternative definition of the optimism bias is attributing more favorable outcomes to oneself. So, having a section to remind members that no one is above the science, may knock down some of the craziness, and ultimately help reduce the repetition in posts so many senior members struggle with.

This is smart, articulate and true! Unfortunately those with optimism bias would quickly dismiss the forum believeing it is for "others" LOL
I've been around here a long time and as cynical as it sounds I have found "natural selection" to be the singular direction for these knucklheads. When they plateau at 25 and can no longer get it up (naturally) by 30 THEN they will get the message and start heeding warnings to the next genration that will not listen to them.
Well thought out an written; but their is a seat for every ass. This is the internet and since most of us have never met in real life a lot of people have the safety of this fact. So the lies come out or truths are hidden. Like I wrote in a last post I am anti-abuse and not anti-juice; but the masses of young people or inexperienced coming to our site and asking for our help and then going in defense mode is fucking astounding. So I try and help them and they feel I just put some sand in their vagina. That does not mean I am giving up the fight because I continue to try and give them the best advice that I know, even if sometimes it's not 100% but the effort is there. I find the problem is when a bunch of fellow roiders agree and say they should not do it; the thread gets hit by ass-clowns telling them they will be fine so they get their 1 person agreeing with them and that's all they needed. (then again, they already planned or started and just wanted acceptance). It's a GROUP effort to try and give great advice. Rant now over.
