+ 1 Steroids and Cardiovascular Health.
I want to get bigger than my body seems to want me. Anytime I get around the 200 lb point my blood pressure rises, to a point where I need to take meds. With medication its well managed. When I was 150lbs and running marathons it was well managed too.
So what do you do? I know I'm not the only one with this problem - I see purple faced bros all over the guy just looking like they could pop.
Are there any medications that don't interfere with lifting - many pressure meds just plain suck.
Currently running 600 mgs of Test E weekly - looking to gain about 15 - 20 lbs.
What do people do when they want to get big and want to stay somewhat healthy?
I used to just do it and not care but I'm getting older and I think I want to live awhile.

BigBmajI know this isn't exactly the most interesting thread but I do have a feeling that many people here have either chronic high pressure or - on cycle suffer from excessively elevated pressure.
I'm going to start a new protocol - following some of the suggestions here and some research that I've been looking at.
My pressure today with medicine is 145/76 It can creep up to 170/80 at times. I'll do a log with my bodyweight, BP, and the approach I'm using to remedy it.
The problem as I see it is that if I start a huge protocol - Hawthorn, Apple Cider, Potassium, ultra low Sodium, garlic, fish oil, CoQ10, ..... It will be hard to know what is making the improvement. I'll start simple and add variables as I see fit.
I'll keep everyone posted if anyone happens to be interested.
WithdrawlIf I had to prioritize I'd say fish oil, apple cider vinegar, and CoQ10 would be my top choices because not only are they good for blood pressure, they are great for overall health and can legitimately help you to live longer. Particularly fish oils and CoQ10. Those two are an outstanding combination.
I've heard Apple Cider Vinegar can work wonders for blood pressure. I've also heard good things about Hawthorn Berry extract. Sodium intake makes a huge difference, as others have stated. Drinking a lot of water can help too, and you should be doing at least some cardio every week.
Usually its the sodium intake that contributes to blood pressure. I had that same problem before on some eg and test. My sodium in my body was so high I was about to pop. My ai wasn t used correctly. Are you taking arimidex or aromasin to help combat estrogen issues??
BigBmajThat was the other part of the equation - cholesterol. It's below 200 now. If I wipe out all the estrogen it seems to get higher. I manage gyno with extemestane. I use only a small amount 6.25 or 12.5 as needed. That stuff works so well I hardly ever have to take it. Only if I feel a tad nipply. Should I run drier and see how much that helps. I also notice a little joint pain when I'm super low on estrogen?
Yea the joint pain is def a sign of low estrogen, too low of estrogen does hinder gains
High Salt/Sodium, low potassium intake, alochol, and tobbacco use are some major contributors, supplements to take are fish oil, garlic, cinnamon, hawthorn extract, calicum, magnesium, potassium, folic acid and pretty much anything mediterrean (which is supposed to be considered the healthiest diet in the world, but doesnt fill the needs of muscle building though).
BigBmajI keep sodium to below 1500. And that does make a huge difference. But the pressure is still up there unless I take something for it.
Maybe look for some things that are not traditional... Research some stuff on ancient/Chinese medicine, all those hippies and earth people usually got their stuff together when it comes to home remedies and such
BigBmajI'm looking into it. Come to think of it, when I was a 140 lb yoga doing hippie I had my pressure under control.
I do think there are probably a few natural things that can make a huge improvement. I couldn't believe how much cutting the sodium down helped.
I just want to weigh 230 and have excellent blood pressure I'm not sure the two things go together for me.
My dad died at 59 of heart attack. Maybe I should just go do some f'n cardio or something.
hahaha, oh I thought you were already going cardio.. Cardio is gonna help immensely
