+ 1 Heart Rate Monitor and your efficiency ("you need one")

ad

My wife talked me into getting a fairly pricy HR monitor, the wrist watch kind. I have had the thing for three days now and it's become priceless to me. I haven't seen any emphasis on them as a training tool, and I believe they are essential to your efficiency as an athlete.

Metabolic rates vary as do how we eat to obtain our goals. Bulking, lean bulk, cutting, shredding whatever you wanna call it. But having a base line without a tool of measurement is pointless. The theroy for some is, I can eat X amount of calories-and burn Y amount of calories (with a workout) and that will give me a caloric value that i can intake but that doesn't give you an accurate Metabolic rate.

Definition: "Metabolic Rate is the rate at which the body burns up calories. A body that consumes 2500 calories a day, and burns 2500 calories a day will stay at the same weight. A body consuming 2500 calories daily but burning only 2000 will gain weight at the rate of about 1lb a week."

What the HR monitor has done for me is keep track of everything. Daily steps, stairs climbed, calories burned, Heart rate, duration of cardio or exercise and my sleep. For all those that don't thing all of these things are essential to your efficiency your missing out.

Since I have had this tool I have been able to dial my nutrition in to the calorie. I adjust my macronutrients accordingly to plan. I found I was in a massive deficit most days. The conclusion is simple if you want to get better results get better data and make the adjustment.

They also blutooth sync to most of the fitness and nutrition apps on your phone as well as the phone itself. That comes in hand when your training and don't want to look at your phone for calls or messages. Get one Bro it will change your fitness.
