Best tasting Whey

ad

I been trying new protein the last three are Naked Whey, Isopure, & Nutricost. By far the Baked tastes best then the Nutricost but the Isopure to me taste gross, to rich. It tastes like cake batter. I only buy chocolate because vanilla makes me cringe. The Naked is much milder flavor and not as thick.

Gorilla mind has some out , I really like the chocolate peanut butter. Price wasn't terrible.

So currently my favorite is Naked Whey. I not over powering and its consistency is perfect. I hate those really thick proteins where you have to add extra liquid. I use Unsweetened Coconut Water usually Silk.

Taste does not matter to me because I rarely drink it as a shake, instead I add a chocolate flavor to oatmeal with a few spoons of cocoa powder to make it actually taste like chocolate instead of just vaguely... brown
Mutant whey 10lb bags at 110$ is the best deal I've ever seen in Canada. Stocked up.

They changed the formula recently though. Doesn’t mix nearly as well and the calories are higher now per serving than they used to be. Went from 25g serving size to 31g. Has this coagulated texture now when mixed… very unfortunate because the OG salted caramel was so good I bought 3 11lb bags recently (came as 6 5.5 lb bags). Used to be blue/white bag now it’s orange/white. Now I’m stuck with 33lbs of a different formula

when im using protein powders i'm not counting calories and always mix it with milk or orange juice and fruit

i've got the orange bags myself and it works good with fruit, oj a greek yogurt in a little nutribullet blender

I only mentioned it because that change was the first thing I noticed. I bought/used so much that seeing a different calorie amount made me go “wait this is different” then I noticed the grams changed too and the ingredients list was different.

I wasn’t saying it in the sense that higher cals per scoop makes a powder bad.

Isolate. Regular whey or concentrate doesn’t digest well with me. Get horrible bloat and gas. Isolate is the only one I can tolerate in terms of digestion

press1's picture

I'm the same, its because of the high lactose content in concentrate and the other cheap crap. Isolate is good but Hydrolysate is better buddy. I just got the chocolate version of that one and also all of the Clear Whey range is Hydrolysate. For years I used the Isolate 97 which is virtually 0% fat content, 60g protein per serving and bought the Unflavoured version. I eventually got sick of always having to flavour it with Flavdrops though and cordials. Definitely worked the best but obv is expensive especially these days after Covid and the War. I read something quite interesting the other day, and that is that with Hydrolysate because it digests so damn fast it actually converts to Glucose and gets used as energy rather than being digested properly and used in building muscle. Not sure how true this is but it is a little worrying - then again though things like casein and concentrate are unusable for me. Casein Hydrolysate is awesome but only a company called DMS make it in Europe and own the rights to the filtration process, so you can only get it when they have done a recent run Lol I have a few Kg's of it here. Yamamoto stock it regularly now though in Italy.

Yeah I often forget the flavour selections are quite different and probably which proteins are available too, I use Bulk Powders a lot too - probably a little bit more than MP. Have Bulk P made it over there yet as I know they were intending to expand Stateside? The quick digesting stuff is definitely my favourite also, like having a shake straight after training then having either a snack or meal within 30 minutes of that.

sell it on ebay and take a few dollars off their price.

at least you'd get most of the money back

I’m gonna drink it all and just not buy from them again. I’ve discovered some tricks to make it tolerable. It’s the lack of transparency I don’t like. Switching/changing the formula and not saying anything. Coupled with the fact that I’ve been buying from them since the days an 11lb bag was under $100 without any discounts and now they’re damn near $300 without their 50% off sales.

I find myself always going back to Dymatize Cookies and Cream. It's by far my favorite and never gets old drinking it.

Yeah, it's good stuff. I like the fruity pebbles flavor too. But cookies and cream is my shit.

THATS MINE TOO!!! especially because it’s hydrolyzed and super easy on my digestion. It’s the only protein that they sell at Walmart/grocery stores, that I can digest

Ya it’s the only non-chocolate flavor I’ve ever liked. I usually get chocolate everything but I actually have only tried the cookies and cream one of Dymatize. And I loved it so I still haven’t felt the need to even try the chocolate one

I bought the cocoa pebbles flavor once because cookies and cream was sold out. It was OK, very chocately.

I never tried that. I don’t enjoy overly sweet or high carb proteins. Usual I find cookies and cream a little too sweet. Is it very sweet? What’s the carb count?

It's not overly sweet. I think it's just right. Total carbs is 2g with 1g sugar
