+ 1 I’m looking for a non-inflammatory protein powder or shake

ad

I been digging deep into the inflammation issue most humans have. All the shit in almost everything we consume is inflammatory. Apparently inflammation is a major cause of disease and illness. Cancer, diabetes, and many others. I’m not saying it’s the only cause but it’s a major contributor from what I’m uncovering in medical journals and other writings. That being said I’m looking for a non-inflammatory protein powder or shake. Whey is inflammatory so that’s not what I’m looking for. Any advice would be appreciated.

This place makes any type of protein powder you can think of. Also look into digestive enzymes and avoid any protein powder with sweeteners

DeeMan's picture

Used them

eighty7's picture

You have?

Musclemem's picture

I have used them years ago but stopped once they started making EVERYTHING. In my mind once they start that it turn more to profit then quality. I think the protein of old is better than the new stuff. Remember when you would go to the site and customize your protein and it would arrive in a big clear plastic bag. Now they got all flashy. Just my opinion.

Man they do have everything though. Not called Protein factory for no reason!

DeeMan's picture

O yeah...long ago. Guy that runs that place is a good no bs guy. Lol their flavoring system wasn't the best now. I'm sure it has gotten better though

I always bought protein with no flavor

If it ain’t chocolate flavored I gag like a whore

Musclemem's picture

I have a similar issue. Chocolate only. Vanilla and Strawberry or Banana just taste so artificial. Nasty.

That's why I buy unflavored so I don't get sick of the taste. Also you can add something for flavor if you'd like.

Good idea. I can add my organic raw cocoa powder

Just add a small amount of honey and it makes a big difference. But you got to mix it in a blender

I have the ninja bullet. It’s pretty good.

I do that now, but back in the day I used to get my protein with stevia and some sort of artificial chocolate. Some nasty, some ok. I think I also had Optimum Nutrition All Natural whey protein too. Was ok. Not the best tasting. Now I add whatever to powder and it's all good.

Don’t forget the whole butter, no margarine, no butter nonsense. I stopped listening to the “experts” long ago. Don’t care how many letters they have after their name. Common sense works just fine for me.

I use Finlandia or Kerry Gold

I’m in a space where I think as technology and medical advance this will change what we know about foods vitamins and our bodies. Who knows what to believe that’s why I like medical journals. But I believe everything has some level of bias.

To each their own but I often think all of these theories and diets are trendy. People invent problems to cause anxiety and sell products. The internet made it 100x easier. Doesn’t require a lot of effort for someone to validate whatever theory they can think of. In addition, they arent’t sustainable long term. Most people just aren’t built that way to maintain a strict/limited diet. Short term sure. Moderation has always been what I strive for.

Anyway, I wish you luck.

iFit that’s why I’m trying a variety of diets. You are 100% correct about the web. I tired of the destruction of the food industry for greed at our healths expense. We consume so much poison even when it’s marked as healthy or Organic. I’m no freedom fighter but I just want to see how I feel when off of the bullshit poisons that are in our foods or sprayed on our foods. I extremely difficult to rid all of it but I’m going try for a spell.

Sounds like a plan. Good luck. When I pick up the kids McDonald’s I am weak. Very weak.

Hey brother I love a Big Mac and the old less healthier processed beaks and feet nuggets. They were the best. The newer white meat ones SUCK!

I would drop protein powder altogether but you can try orgain. Most companies now provide a plant base selection like optimum nutrition. I had to do this when I had mercury poison back in 2018 but I ended up being allergic to most powders so I dropped altogether and used cashew butter or avocados in exchange for the protein. But dr Morses raw alkaline vegan book which helped me vs having to go on dialysis.

Musclemem's picture

Holy Shit! Simon that’s horrible. Hope your doing better now. From what I’m finding is that there is no such thing as a whey protein powder that IS NOT inflammatory. It appears all whey causes inflammation but I can’t say that definitively. I’m going to see if I can grab that book.

correct. let me know if you need any assistance in your research.

DeeMan's picture

Yea I do think you're right. I remember reading something about whey being inflammatory.

I never understood the alkaline thing. Our stomachs contain acid for digestion so how can we become alkaline? Obviously I’m no nutritionist.

It's working for him so there might be something to this alkaline diet. Brady is at least 45 yrs old, maybe older. And yes our blood are pH neutral so maybe the more alkaline, the better. Debatable. Good point

Musclemem's picture

His diet is full of 'alkalising' foods with low pH levels

Breakfast: In addition to his smoothie, Brady will have avocado and eggs; Lunch: Salad with nuts and fish; Dinner: Roasted vegetables and plain chicken; Snacks: In between his meals, Brady will snack on hummus, guacamole, or mixed nuts. GISELLE FOR A LATE NIGHT SNACK.

Looking now. He must be coming something right. He’s a fossil in the NFL world and still the arguably the best.

@Tricepatops is right about cause of inflammation but the human body can never be 100% alkaline with blood neutral pH of 7. But I see what he means.

Well if you are looking for different kinds of proteins to try look into Naked Nutrition. They have different kinds of proteins like Naked pea protein, Naked rice protein, Naked Goat whey, and some others plus your regular kinds of proteins. They offer protein powders with the bare minimum ingredients with no fake stuff or cheap fillers for people that are very health conscious. Just be aware that they costs alot of money. But they seem to be the most natural protein brand out there. I don't use any of their products so I have no feedback unfortunately but do some research on them if you are interested.

Kush you weren’t lying about pricey god damn! I’m going to look deep into these and see what may be a good fit. Thanks again

Good point. I think alot of times the inflammation is from the additives in any protein. Now some protein may actually be inflammatory. And all those proteins you mentioned are available at ease.

Musclemem's picture

These guys claim to be the best anti-inflammatory protein on the market. I love researching shit like this.

Drink Wholesome is the best anti-inflammatory protein powder. This is their claim.

I can digg it. I could be wrong but like I said alot of the added ingredients cause or add to inflammation in these various proteins. My opinion but a valid one. I've been on whey since it came to the market years ago

Musclemem's picture

Sounds great! Thanks Kush I’m going to look now.
