DHEA to combat rising cortisol levels during PCT?
Hey fellas, I haven't tried this yet, but I've read on another forum that in addition to Anti-Estrogens, using DHEA post cycle will help to reduce cortisol to minimize the crash some of us experience during PCT... Do you guys think this is just bullshit, or could there be some truth to this claim? It's my understanding that there are several metabolites of DHEA that are present in the body after ingestion, 2 of which are 1-Androsterone and 1-androstenediol. The latter can only convert to 1-testosterone, which leads me to believe that such an addition to PCT would possibly defeat the purpose of PCT in the first place. Unless this 3-step conversion from DHEA to testosterone is so minimal that our endogenous test levels would not be effected by it? I am hoping that some of our more experienced bros here can shed some light on this topic.

During cycle you bodies normal level of dhea almost drops to zero. Dhea plays a key role in your cns, use it while on cycle gives you a boost of energy and helps you with test flu or that lethargic feeling mid cycle. This can be cited online and from my personal experience. I weight 214 right now and I find that 150mg daily makes me feel better while on cycle. The estrogen effects shouldnt matter because we all know you run AI while on cycle right
hell it dirt cheap, there is no reason not to try. HPTA suppressed is not only test, it is also were dhea is generated from our bodies. The term I was looking for called a cns crash. I ise it on and off cycle. As far as pct progression I cant say it was the most benefical, because other compounds were used in conjunction with it. What I can say is while on cycle it makes me happy, eliminates yawning while at the gym. (Weird I know).
Interesting.. Thanks for your .02 man. So you have used it post cycle and found that it did not inhibit your recovery? If this is the case then perhaps it would not be a bad a idea for cortisol control. I'm already in my first week of PCT now. My last pin was on May 11th and so far I've been maintaining my gains. Just feel a lot more lazy than usual though. Gym and the bedroom are the only places I exert any energy. The rest of the day I'm just kind if dragging myself around. Could all be just a psychological thing though. I ran HCG for 3 weeks leading up to PCT and am now running both Nolva and Clomid. I like to run aggressive PCT, because I just don't like taking chances. I'm still waking up in the morning with wood and have no problem pleasing my Asian princess at home, so these are also good signs. Hopefully, things will remain this way.
It would make sense if you are using an AI and Serms that potential you could influence the converison factor. Good point, the good news is it will be 50/50 and I like those odds, especially since the combating of the other is alreasy in place. There really is no loss, just need more guinea pigs like us
I absolutly love dhea on cycle, it is one of the few supplements I notice kick in quickly within a few hours. However once levels are back up to nomal the results of the supplement will become less noticable (during pct). So I would guess 2-4 weeks pct. Should be a good run. After drop down to the regular 50 mg dose.
Is there nobody out there with any input on this at all? I was really hoping to see some opinions posted, to help make a decision on whether I should add this in as part of a PCT protocol or not...
dude, i take DHEA every day anyway. w/ my vitamins. its cheap as hell. do some research on it. i dont know about PCT but i like it in general. 25-50mg a day i believe is the proper dose. don't quote me on that cause i dont have the bottle right here by the computer. look it up. or go to GNC.
Thanks man, I appreciate that. I understand pretty much that DHEA is a non-anabolic steroid hormone and just like most other hormones it depletes with age. It is capable of converting to both testosterone and estrogen, depending on which hormone the body lacks most, but this is where my concern is... After a cycle, our natural test levels are deep in the basement, right? So if I took DHEA post cycle, does that mean that the majority of this hormone would convert into test? Because if this is the case, then this could have a negative impact on my recovery. My reason for even considering the use of DHEA is to possibly aid in lowering the stress hormone cortisol, which I understand can rise dramatically upon completion of an AAS cycle and exert it's catabolic effects on hard earned muscle. during my research, I have read articles and posts which tend to support this belief that cortisol levels can be lowered by supplementing with DHEA. This does not seem to be a very popular topic for some reason, but I think it deserves some attention if cortisol can prevent us from maintaining our gains. BTW, I sent you a request bro. Thanks again for your input.
