Cabergoline vs Pramipexole
I'm well aware of the effectiveness, and reputation of Caber, but I also know that more times than not it's fake. One of my trusted sources said this of pramipexole... "Pramipexole has demonstrated properties and actions similar to that of cabergoline in clinical research. Based on supporting research, pramipexole acts as a dopamine agonist. Dopamine's main function as a hormone is to inhibit the release of prolactin from the anterior lobe of the pituitary. Thus, pramipoxole can play an important role in the inhibition of prolactin secretion. Pramipexole has a half-life between 8-10 hours."
Does anyone have first hand information or experience with both? or alternatively, who has additional knowledge about the way these two compounds work, and why one might use one over the other. I have done a LOT of searching on the site, but haven't been able to find the answer to those questions, or find dosage guidlines.

Someone else posted this link to another board with a lengthy discussion on prami. I found it very educational. Paying it forward...

Thanks, Garg...I am just about done with work and I'll peruse this info when I get back to my desk. I'm sure all appreciate it.
No worries man. Can't really take credit for it though. Someone else posted it just a couple of days ago and I saved it.
Guys I don't recommend using wellbutrin for prolactin control. First of all its a very powerful antidepressant with it's own set of side effects. I have been on it for 4 years now - i'm well aware of its effects. They are similar to cabergoline and prami except without the nausea.
Also wellbutrin on its own is not enough to prevent deca induced prolactin. The point is you do not want to get hooked to an antidepressant to control prolactin when prami or caber does the job without all the drawbacks.
Another thing about wellbutrin is after time dopamine levels are not as high as expected. Wellbutrin acts more on norepinephrine in the long run. The dopamine levels return to a more normal level after extended wellbutrin use and it's antidepressant effects are a mix of dopamine and norepinephrine. It is a stimulant. Side effects I always have is dry mouth, sometimes headaches, and I used to have bad anxiety. After being on it for a few years the anxiety wen't away, but I'm still getting high adrenalin sides.
Use prami, and if you are absolutely intolerant to prami, use caber.
and (lol)...Bupropion is only an antidepressant if it's called Wellbutrin. If it's called Zyban, it's suddenly (and magically) transformed into a smoking cessation drug. Just like diphenhydramine is an antihistamine allergy medication if it's Benadryl and taken when you're sneezing, but it's a sleep aid in Tylenol PM or Sominex. Prami is a Parkinson's drug if marketed as Mirapex and prescribed in that fashion. It is used by GearHeads for their sex drive and to keep their nipples in check. The bottom line is...most of the pharm's we freaks on here use have other purposes. When considering these dopamine-increasing drugs, they all have risks and have similar effects on brain chemistry. Granted...Wellbutrin does have the added norepinephrine twist to it. Hell...I'd better get back to work. Hope you guys have a great New Year!
yeah thats true. Prami is also prescribed off label for depression. But yea the thing about prami is as long as you slowly increase the dose the sides will not cause any issues.
Wellbutrin is good at what it is for. It is an antidepressant that doesn't have sexual side effects that ssri's have. It also does not make you feel tired like ssri's do. This is probably due to the massive increase in norepinephrine levels.
The nicotine cravings tend to dissappear as a side effect.
But you are correct any of these drugs can do the job, I just know from experience using an antidepressant when it's not needed is not the best idea. Because when they stop the cycle and they try to get off wellbutrin, your brain can feel permanently depressed forever. Coming off wellbutrin is not as easy as coming off caber. Once your brain gets used to how you feel on wellbutrin, it's never the same without it.
Since Wellbutrin is generally NOT used for the purposes we are discussing here, there probably is a good reason for it, which probably includes the concerns you mentioned. Good talking with you. I like discussions of this type because while most of the drugs we discuss on this board are used in some "off-label" purpose, they are simply chemicals that do certain things to our bodies. Some work better than others. After all, Viagra is used in pulmonary hypertension. Hospital bed sheets tenting up would be a side-effect. But the sheet tenting is actually the primary labeled use for Viagra. Kinda funny if you think about it that way.
Thanks, j223...It is also worth considering that Bromocriptine is an option for this purpose. I found it to personally have low sides, but then Wellbutrin was tolerated so well that I personally had no adverse effects at all. So naturally, everyone's mileage will vary. The problem is with all the fake Caber, the poorly tolerated Prami because of sides, and the poor availability of all of it. It would be nice to have a few more options. Anyone with Bromocriptine experience, please chime in.
I have heard similar stories about bromo. I guess it's sides are not as bad as prami, and some tolerate it better than caber. But that being said it is not as powerful as prami, and it is much more difficult to obtain than caber and prami is.
CleyonThe fake Caber (and the ridiculously high cost of it) is the biggest downside. That's why I've been looking at Prami. Pound for pound it seems to be on level with Caber. Great discussion all the way around. Thanks for bringing all the info.
I have been looking everywhere for a source for either Caber or Prami or something that will work in a similar manner. Domestic sources are really lacking, and I'm not really comfortable with liquid Caber. I would prefer to have a manufactured, pressed pill rather than some powder somebody capped in an UGL or some liquid suspension of who-knows-what. Too many reports of fakes in this type of drug. Probably because of the relatively high price. More money to scam. Good luck in the quest for quality prolactin suppression!
I'm not going to name a source but hopefully I can point you in the right direction. I will add that I am the same as you, when it comes to ancillaries I prefer pure prescription pills. But I can guarantee you that liquid prami is really good stuff and affordable too. It is suspended in alcohol so the dosage is spot on 100% of the time. They are a peptide source. Extreme pep is my favorite they have never let me down. GWP also makes good stuff too.Try it out you will NOT be disappointed.
I'll send you a friend request so we can PM about this kind of thing when it comes to names of sources. That's a little TMI for a board.
But the liquids really work in your experience? Can really feel the effects?
CleyonI've got a source for Prami, their Lytro, Dex, and other stuff I've tried has all worked well for me. All of them liquids. If your interested friend me, and I'll send you the source I use for AIs.
Hey bro, I've almost pulled the trigger on my shopping cart with a couple of overseas sources for my PCT gear. I'm sending you a friend request and hopefully we can exchange helpful info. Thanks.
Anonfr sent...would like to know your sources

This was a report from lab study on rats, but the effect is clear. It supports the obvious hypothesis that PRL would be inhibited by increasing use-able dopamine. I'm sure there are lots of other resources that support this.
I feel that bupropion would be a good substitute that would be gentle and slow-acting, but easier to obtain and with a better side-effect profile. One would likely need to take it for a month orally before a lot of effect would be expected, but it is a choice that I found quite effective and pleasant.
It seems to me that after about a month of Bupropion (Wellbutrin, Zyban), one's useful dopamine levels would be high enough to inhibit prolactin. Bupropion is a catecholamine reuptake inhibitor, and therefore, it leaves more circulating dopamine for the brain to use. It wouldn't be as fast acting as Caber or Prami, but the side effect profile would likely be gentler. I've used Wellbutrin in the past, and I felt more energetic, less depressed, and had a slightly increased libido. It can tweak anxiety in some cases, so those prone to such a thing may want to monitor that. I was prescribed some weak alprazolam for that (just in case), but such wasn't necessary for me. Bupropion is used both as an anti-depressant (acting in a different mechanism than the more common SSRI's, which affect serotonin) and as a means to assist in quitting smoking, as cravings are lessened by its effects. I've used Bromocriptine before for purposes of libido enhancement, but I've never had the pleasure of Caber or Prami. I do see time and time again that Caber is usually fake, especially when capped instead of in a pressed pill, and that it is too unstable to take as liquid suspension. Prami is reputed to have some harsh sides. I hope that these comments can stimulate some further response and discussion on this matter, as I'm curious about what will be attainable and most advantageous in keeping up libido and otherwise fighting the increase in prolactin.
Thanks for bringing up this topic.
To further illustrate the application of Wellbutrin: It is marketed as the only anti-depressant without "sexual side effects." That is their big selling point because nearly all of the other anti-depressants increase useful serotonin, which will plunge you into sexual apathy. Raising circulating dopamine, Wellbutrin (or Bupropion) does not have this effect.
Furthermore, I've seen it marketed online, and you could also get it prescribed fairly easily. When you tell your MD you have been having symptoms of depression, also tell him you refuse to take an SSRI because you don't want the sexual side effects. Then discuss Wellbutrin and how you read that it doesn't have sexual side effects. Or just say you want to quit smoking and need Zyban. These are not controlled substances, and they will usually be happy to Rx you a trial.
Anonhey man, my personal experience is with that of prami, never caber. Caber is too expensive and as you stated it is faked quite a bit. My current cycle is tren, and am using .5 mg of prami every night before bed. I fall sleep roughly 20 min, I love it. Im a lil groggy in the morning, but it wears off within 30 min. As for my sex drive... It was weird, I think prami takes time to build up, because my libio was completely gone up until 5 or 6 days ago, now Im laying pipe to my wife every night.. and the orgasms are fucking intense. So my next run on tren, I will be taking the prmai 3 to 4 weeks before my cycle starts. I also added 300mg of B6 in my vitamin routine. Like I said earlier though I never tried caber, and don't need too.. I like prami.
As for dosage I read that you supposed to start at .25 mg and work your way up to 1mg a night. .5 mg has been working for me for 3 weeks now so Im keeping with that until the tren night sides take over, but as of right now Im g2g.
do you sleep through the night? prami has done wonders for my titties; however, i hate how i fall asleep and am awake every 20 fucking minutes with prami. its not an uncommon side, and you're lucky if you don't get that. of course, the reason im using prami is for tren, which also doesnt help sleep, but i'm not the sweaty tren-insomnia... prami feels different
AnonI do wake up numerous times in the night... but my wife and I have a 2 year son so we pretty exhausted by the end of the day. I usually (not during current xmas vaction time) go to bed between 7 and 9 and wake up at 4am to go to work. I think the waking up has to do with the tren and not the prami, IMO anyway. But it hasn't gotten so bad that its unreasonable, yet anyway.

After reading that Im a lil scared...ha
CleyonYeah, I'd read that, but since the "Results were not statistically signifigant" I decided it wasn't worth getting too worked up over. I keep track of my blood pressure and everything while on cycle, so I'll just be more cautious. Also, I'll probably start with .25mg/ED and ramp up to .5mg/ED after a week. It sounds like taking it for a month at a time, and ramping back down afterwards is the right way to go.
Anonyeah, I think that's the way to do it. Im still figuring it out myself, but should master (to an extent) its doses and such by the end of this cycle.
