Panic Attacks from Tbol
Hey guys, just some quick stats first:
28 years old
5'11, 200lbs, 10% bodyfat
Have run three previous cycles with Var and HCG in the past which worked awesome for me but that was about 4 years ago. After a long break decided it was time for another cycle:
Was two weeks into a cycle with 120mg Test Phenylproprianate /week, HCG 250iu twice per week (basically HRT; I'm hairloss prone, taking prescription finasteride), and 40mg of Tbol per day...
After a few days I noticed my heart pounding a bit and that it was very hard to fall and stay asleep.
By the end of the second week I was having full blown panic attacks and had to take benzos to calm myself down. I have actually had these sorts of attacks while off gear but eliminating stimulants seemed to fix me right up.
So I stopped the Tbol about three days ago and am now feeling more or less back to normal. Has anyone else experienced this with Tbol? I've seen it mentioned on forums before but I figured thats usually because people are not pinning Test with it and get shutdown. Anyway, I upped my Test to 250mg this week just to get some sort of gains while I figure this out. Would really love to hop back on the Tbol (its from a legit source) but the anxiety was just unbearable. A buddy of mine said I should try again in a week or two once the test has built up more in my system but I feel like I will just feel like ass again. Any advice would be appreciated!

First of all, i didn't had panic attack in past but i had 3 friends who had panic-attack and all were using steroids.
I believe that the panic attack it self is a disease. And ping-pong between stimulating drugs - benzos is not good for it.. It just makes your panic attack deeper and deeper. Benzos doesn't cure anything. Just help you to stand until it pass.
If i were in your shoes, take break with these substances (mostly tren, tbol, high doses of test, caffeine, ephedrine etc) and think about having some kind of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) first, until get rid of symptoms. Or at least you can read about sources online and help your self. Then you could use these substances without problem.
My advice is not the best to some but is what has worked for me and I have run some pretty hectic cycles and I also know a lot of Pro BBers and what they use to help with anxiety and to sleep. I always have benzos on hand when running a lot of tren and EQ . usually Xanax. It will curb the anxiety and will help you sleep and helps me run higher doses. it's addictive stuff but it's what works for a lot of guy's dealing with anxiety and making it possible to run gear we want to run at the doses we want to run them at.
It definitely works but, for me at least, it started to become a crutch very quickly...being tempted to reach for the pills anytime I felt a bit off. I hear the withdrawal can be crippling also. That being said there is a time and place for benzos I just want people to know that you can learn to overcome anxiety/panic attacks if you invest some time and energy into it. Not everyone will see results as quickly as I did but it's a skill that you have to train just like going to the gym. I'll continue to practice the techniques and go in for occasional sessions for quite some time I imagine.
Hey guys, sorry to resurrect an old thread but I just want to share an update which may be helpful to others experiencing anxiety on cycle or in general.
After the discussion in this thread I stopped my cycle and the daily panic attacks did seem to subside to their pre-cycle levels (still enough to be a huge pain in the ass). Being fed up and not wanting to go on benzos, I decided to start Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) almost immediately. Long story short, the results were quite profound. After about 4 sessions (4 weeks) my therapist was able to convince me there was nothing physically wrong with me and that my panic attacks and anxiety are simply a result of overreacting to normal "bodily noise" and that I could learn to recognize and break these negative thought patterns. She also said that avoidance behaviours like not drinking coffee/preworkout because you feel it will cause a panic attack will only serve to reinforce your anxiety and that I should slowly try to reintegrate it back into my life.
Well at that moment it was like a light switch went off in my head. Even though I had a panel of blood and heart tests, I had always assumed there was something "wrong" with my health, like adrenal fatigue, which was remaining undiagnosed. But in that moment I realized, although technically possible, the probability is much higher that it really is all just "in my head" (shout out to backonroids for calling this lol). From that moment on, my panic attacks virtually stopped and I began drinking coffee and eventually preworkout with no increases in anxiety!
So the final test was getting back on the gear - I figured if I didn't test myself in this way I would never really feel confident about ridding myself of anxiety. I am now in week 7 of 8 of my cutting cycle with great gains, and most importantly, NO ANXIETY.
If this is something you struggle with, I highly recommend CBT. It is well accepted in the medical literature as a treatment option for panic attacks/anxiety and I can now see why. Really gave me a new appreciation for the power of thought - both negative and positive.
Much respect, and great share. +1
Thanks guys for the support and kind words!
Nice to see you got things sorted out.
RustyhookerAgree
Sounds like a predisposition for anxiety in general. AAS tend to exacerbate this issue . The increase in blood pressure will surely add to this. Time for full blood work. May be time also to look in yoga, Tai Chi, meditation or my favorite a personal relaxation therapist.
RustyhookerWould really love to hop back on the Tbol
Because having a bad trip is somehow cool? Like its the new fad or something?
You do realize that with no REM sleep, you basically do not grow.
Tbol is another oral that gets faked. Just because you got it from a "reliable source" doesn't mean jack shit. The real way to tell is twofold, a lcms test or you take a bloodtest, If you are already on anxiety meds and you are cycling, you are heading for trouble. High levels of test and E2 cause anxiety in some people. If you're heart is pounding out of your chest you might have a heart condition or high blood pressure too. You need to get a full blood panel done and a full physical or you just might kill yourself. I'm surprised with your condition any doctor would prescribe hrt and if he did I am pretty sure he gives you very low doses if he isn;t a jackass.
I had a full panel of blood and heart tests - there is nothing physically "wrong" with me, doc said it was just anxiety. Would not have started a cycle otherwise. HRT is not prescribed (I just meant i was using HRT type doses during the cycle).
You've answered your own question. The fact you say that and also have tranqs on hand is not really a good sign there friendo
So no gear allowed if you're prone to anxiety eh?
I guess that's reasonable but, man, I've already given up coffee and alcohol and I was hoping I could indulge in a mild bloody cycle now and then but guess no dice there either...fml
You might have missed my point fella.
Either way, there is a post about anxiety in this forum just below your forum post. If you have a look in there, there's a bit of advice I have posted to another chap. Might also help you.
X3
X2..... Are you self prescribing?
No my doc gives me like 10 pills at a time for emergencies. Hardly ever use them
Have you checked your blood pressure?
Yes. I thought that might be the problem but its hard to tell if my BP was high from the gear (kind of unlikely at that dose after two weeks) or if it was high because i was freaking out lol. baseline is 120/80 and I had readings ranging from that number all the way up to 152/90 depending on how anxious I was at the time.
Sometimes it can be a mixture of things that can cause an increase in blood pressure, buts it's important to factor & narrow down anything that can increase it. Blood pressure, anxiety & heart attacks are often linked.
Ive ran tbol quite a few times and never have any kind of panic attacks i usally run it 60 -80mg a day in my opinion any less than that is kind of a waste but thats just me personally im no doctor but you did say you had panic attacks off of gear and if you do think its the tbol then i wouldnt use it anymore? And yes im on meds for my anxiety so i know all about panick attacks
ya its weird...on paper there is no reason it should cause anxiety. Were you on meds when you ran the Tbol before?
Yes iwas and stil am i dont think i can say what meds but it never seemed to interfere with the gear and I've had some pretty bad panic attacks funny thing is ive never had any real bad ones i can associate to my gear use but everyones chemistry is different if i was you and you think the tbol is causing it dont run tbol bro that would be my best advice what more important your mental wellbeing or using something that messes with it????
Hmm so its possible it might have had the same effect on you if you weren't on meds... I could probably get some more for my cycle but I'm hesitant because of how addictive they are. My doc gives me like 10 at a time lol ate those like skittles the last couple weeks. Ya you are probably right about giving up on the tbol - just such a waste of a cycle
Yeah but you know what fuck the cycle bro gotta think about keeping your self healthy mentally and physically first
Absolutely!! Your sanity is much more important than some short term gains
Hell yeah whats the one thing preached on eroids constantl stay healthy period!!!!! Nothing is worth putting your health wether it be mental or physical at risk
backonroidsA lot of this stuff is all in your head mate ..
And read the rules no source talk !
And your stats haven't changed since July so your doing something wrong if you've been on cycle ..
lol maybe you're right but anyone on here who's suffered from panic attacks before knows how physically crippling it is. Your body pumps out so much adrenaline you think you are going to die right there on the spot. And even though you know thats not actually going to happen you can't convince your mind otherwise...
Just edited the post to exclude the source.
I just updated my stats today... was 190 or so in July. Have only been on cycle for two weeks (it was meant to be a cutting cycle.
