Experience with Var
Hey, friends.
Quick stats: 39, on TRT for over a year, doing 3rd cycle. I'm 13 weeks into a test e 500/ eq 600 cycle and pleased with results: I'm up from 181 to 195 and a bit leaner, probably just over 10% BF. Diet has been on point and training has been great with my lifts going up almost effortlessly.
I had a well-respected vet suggest I do a few weeks of var at the end to tighten up a bit. I got some from a non "on-hiatus" but previously top source. I'm using the same source's test e and eq and I know it is good compared to the pharm grade I was previously using. I was feeling great on the oil stack and making great gains.
I started the var a little before the end of my cycle since I had a vacation planned with my wife and planned on being in a bathing suit and eating whatever I felt like. I figured I would "peak" a bit early.
I was almost 4 weeks into the additional 75mg of var a day without a real significant change. I'm a bit harder and maybe a bit more vascular, but not really in the way I was expecting. I had heard I should expect phenomenal pumps and some real fat loss, which I didn't really get. A little of both, perhaps, but it feels like the trajectory is not that different than what I had going on the oils.
More importantly, I have been SUPER emotional. Not really angry, but depressed and irritable. I feel like crying when a sad video is playing, stuff I know wouldn't make me feel that way normally. I've been successful at keeping it to myself, but it is intense. And I've never had ANY depression or irritability in my life, other than minor, event-related stuff that everyone has. I'm universally thought of as a happy-go-lucky, positive, laughs at everything type.
At first I figured my estrogen was up, and I increased my adex to 0.25 4days/wk, up from 3 days. No real change. No other changes of elevated estro, either.
I dropped the var for my last dose yesterday.
I do have some coming from another source, but I ordered it a while ago just to have it on hand for another time.
Questions:
1. Should I expect emotional changes from var? I thought it wouldn't aromatize and that it isn't very androgenic. I'm pretty surprised. And I don't think it was the Eq/ var, since I have been on it so long with no issues.
-
If so, what is recommended for it? Is it related to estrogen? A different approach to AI better? Or is it just one of those things you deal with or don't do the compound?
-
Could I have something else in my bottle marked var? Like winny, perhaps? I won't name names, and like I said, I feel good about the oils I have from the same source, and since I don't have any var experience, I'm not sure what to expect. If you know what source I am talking about, or think you do, and have some insight or previous experience with his var, I'd appreciate a friend request/ PM.

Should I try the new source var to compare at the end of this cycle? I haven't done any labs, since starting, but I'm on a good liver support supp and could wait 3 weeks to finish out with a month of the new stuff. I'd do LFT"s first to be certain I'm good. Not married to this idea. It is more for the head to head comparison, but I could just wait.
Thanks, amigos.

Sounds odd. Adex .25e3d is base dose. Var causing what you're describing doesnt sound right. You might run the adex .25eod if getting sensitive/emo. That sounds estro related.
Thanks for the response. Sorry about the delay in getting back, but I was out of town for the holiday and not on my computer.
I was running the adex 3x/ wk all along and doing fine. It wasn't until I was 3 weeks or so into the new oral that I started getting that emotional stuff. I agree it was probably estro related, but I figured since I was on week 12 of my test e/ eq cycle and doing great before I started the orals that the new side had to be the oral. And I thought I shouldn't get it with var. That's why I posted the questions.
So you think it was not var?
BTW, it went away almost immediately after I stopped the oral. And upping my adex to 4x/ week didn't seem to help, which is why I stopped it.
you got a lot of questions in there but ill try to answer of few of them because id be willing to bet we got our var from the same "on hiatus" source. i just finished four weeks of the var and damn near had the same results with it that you stated, maybe slightly less on the emotional stuff tho but i did see a lil bit of that in myself. as for the var i have a couple posts on here about whether it was legit or possibly something else. at worst it could have been winny but i was running a fairly low dose so it was hard to tell. i did get good gains out of it tho on top of my prop cycle (vascularity up, strentgh up, leaned up a bit) could have all been from the prop but i doubt it. i didnt run adex or anything during because i had no problems with bloat and although i seemed more emotional it was very very mild. also this was the first time i ran var too so some of the sides i was expecting didnt happen or i had different sides than other people so that got me questioning what i had but i know he prop was great so im sure it was just me overthinking it. someone on one of my posts said i could have liver values checked because if you had var it wouldnt wreck your liver values as much say if you had winny instead...long ass post here but i was looking for someone else too that may have run in to the same type of situation that i was in. hopefully some of this info helps you out.
Thanks for the response. Did you end up getting liver function tests?
no i didnt. i switched job recently so i dont have insurance at the time and i was trying to wait a couple weeks after my pct to get my bloods done. i know that wont help with my liver values at that time but eventually from the var i had i did get some of the var related sides so im sure it was gtg.
