Blood donation

ad

How often do you guys personally donate blood? Do you have a set number of months or only when you feel it may be necessary? This coming Monday will be the first time I’ve have blood since last September. Fully understand that is a long gap.

I hit the Red Cross every 2- 2.5 months. I used to donate the power red, but had a bad experience back in November. Guess needle wasn’t in the vein so when it sent my platelets back it fucking hurt like hell. Needles to say I didn’t say a word and dealt with. Damn near brought me to tears. My upper arm biceps area was fucked for about 4 months. Never again.

Thank you guys for the info, much appreciated. I read a lot about these topics and watch videos from people like vigorous Steve , more plates more dates , Dave Polumbo and so on. But you get so many different opinions.

I find that they look at you funny, the old ladies with disgust and the young woman with ohhh man i want to bang this guy when you say sex partners over 60. So do yourself a favor and lie

I used to always donate once while on cycle. Was always paranoid about all this high hematocrit talk you hear about. Been years since I have donated now. Not really necessary IMO. Good thing to do because blood is always needed but just not necessary to do.

Not necessary just for you? Or in general?
And what if someone is on trt?

It's not needed if you're on scripted TRT and your levels are well within normal levels. If you're on a continuous cycle pretending you're on TRT, I would consider regular blood donations.

If you are doing normal cycles with regular time off in between, your levels will normalize and donating, as Makwa indicated, is a good thing but not necessary.

So I'm on scripted trt, but 200mg/week. My hematocrit and hemoglobin are always 50/17, looking at all my previous blood results, when my test levels ranged anywhere from 160 to 1000.

I did donate regularly to keep hematocrit down but at some point I crashed my iron. Also, donating over and over again will only make the hematocrit issue worse in my opinion since the body will recognize he’s losing blood because of the donations and will speed up the blood making process and thus producing red blood cells faster than before.

I found IP6 very effective for controlling hematocrit on cycle !

It was a few times a year when I was cycling, but to be honest it’s been a while. In my opinion, and it’s just my opinion, donating blood helps people in need, there’s a level of dignity to it, but at the same time it’s basically bloodletting. You need your blood my friend. It will shave a little off of your hematocrit, RBC, but it’s a VERY temporary fix. If your numbers are concerning, you may want to evaluate what you’re doing. There’s no magic pill, but there’s also no magic fix. Think long term.

Depends. Are we talking running a cycle or trt purposes?

  • will be the first time I have donated blood since *

Since what? A cycle or trt? If cycle it will just go down on its own after stopping. If trt , check bloods and see where your hemoglobin is.
