+ 3 Pre cycle blood work
Hey guys,
So I wanted to do this right so I want to get blood work before my cycle, in the past I would just have my testosterone and estrogen check and basic lipid panel. This time I was thinking about going with private MD lab bodybuilding panel what’s included as listed below.
Includes:
Complete Blood Count / CBC (includes Differential and Platelets): WBC, RBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW, Platelet Count, MPV and Differential (Absolute and Percent - Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils, and Basophils)
Comprehensive Metabolic Profile ( includes eGFR ): Albumin, Albumin/Globulin Ratio (calculated), Alkaline Phosphatase, ALT, AST, BUN/Creatinine Ratio (calculated), Calcium, Carbon Dioxide, Chloride, Creatinine with GFR Estimated, Globulin (calculated), Glucose, Potassium, Sodium, Total Bilirubin, Total Protein, Urea Nitrogen
Estradiol, Ultrasensitive, LC/MS/MS
Insulin-Like Growth Factor I (IGF-I, LC/MS)
Lipid Profile: Cholesterol, total; high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol; low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (calculated); triglycerides; Non-HDL Cholesterol (calculated)
Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
Testosterone, Free and Total, LC/MS/MS (Actual Total Testosterone levels will be provided with this test for levels up to 10,000.)
Thyroid Profile w/ TSH: T3 Uptake; T4 (Thyroxine), Total; Free T4 Index (T7); Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
Just want thoughts and opinions, if this is good enough or too much for pre blood work, I was also thinking about running this same blood work after cycle.
Thank in advance

Got all your bases covered there.
I would add Cystatin C, unique kidney health maker that isn’t affected by weight training like AST/ALT are. Also I would add Gamma GT which is a great marker for assessing liver health.
I think I can add them as add ins, would you run pre or post or both? Sorry for all the questions
Ideally pre, mid and post blast.
You’re good. Thumbs up for making the responsible decision for your health.
Thank you, so do you think I should go with just my normal testosterone, estrogen and lipid panel? Or go with with bigger bodybuilding panel form private, MD labs for before and after.
Personally, and it’s just me, I would get as much done as you can afford, especially if this is your first cycle. Towards most things I have a less is more attitude, but diagnostic health testing doesn’t fall under that category. Even if you weren’t about to use anabolic sand androgens, wouldn’t you want as complete a panel as possible to make sure you’re healthy? An extra fifty dollars may uncover something that could turn into a problem drugs or not. That’s only me though, I err towards caution.
Completely agree with Drexyl here, its never a bad idea to invest bit more.
Thank you, I really appreciate all the help from all of you. I will be ordering the full bodybuilding panel for pre and post. Just going to look for a promo code for private MD lab lol, pretty sure I can find one.
I see what ur saying I am kinda the same way now that I am getting older. Also this isn’t my first cycle, just wanted to start doing it right and not just go off feeling. Because I feel like just checking testosterone, E2, PSA and lipids aren’t enough
