+ 1 Need TRT Labs, but currently on Blast

ad

So I'm normally on TRT (100mg-200mg T. Cyp weekly), but for the past few weeks I've been doing a blast of 500mg T. Cyp with 300mg Mast weekly. I have an appt with my TRT prescribing doc and I normally get labs done prior to appt. I know my Testosterone levels are going to be significantly elevated if I go now but my question is how long do you think it will take to bring my levels back down to "therapeutic range" once I go back to TRT dose? I guess I can just get labs done at a private lab first to see where my levels are at as I have done that in the past when I'm on blast to see where my estrogen levels are at and whether I need an AI or to check my H/H. Just wondering if anyone knows or has experience with how long it takes test levels to come down. I realize this can vary from person to person, but any input would be appreciated.

If you’re doing one injection each week then the test cyp will reach it’s highest TT at 3-4 days and highest FT and BioT at 5-6 days post IM injection, E2 peaks somewhere in that latter range, SHGB elevates over 3 months consistent T use and should remain at that level for the duration of TRT. thereafter. All values for Testosterone should be around or even below 300-400 by day 10-12 post last IM injection but this isn’t always what your labs will show as you can expect something close to 100 points swing in one way, or the other just by the nature of these tests, which are not meant to be precise beyond their current level for their usual scope of use. I would just delay your appointment if you can, and for sake of being on TRT delay it for quite a bit if you can stomach that to find out what your actual recovered normal levels are, if you in fact, are approaching TRT for that purpose if you are just searching for doctor, prescribed testosterone you could play it as close to you with tolerance as you feel necessary, but also do not have any biotin for at least a week before the test and then claim that you took 5000 mg for the previous month or two as a hair and skin and nail supplement, or whatever. If it comes back elevated by often can interfere with most assays and nearly guaranteed to mess up most of your immunological and endocrine panel, standard hormone values in one direction or another.

Testosterone will show high elevation erroneously, even with a few days or more of wash out from biotin supplementation. It’s not the greatest plan of attack here, but it’s the most scientifically viable explanation for you to act incredulous about why you might hit above the detectable ceiling if you go get tested fairly soon. Then you can research and send the FDA warnings and industry articles grappling with this issue. That’ll buy you another week or two to come back and retest when you think your levels are where you want them. If you are not using any biotin don’t start, and the retest results will show your T levels as can be expected to continue to decline per the pharmacokinetics outlined reasonably specifically as above for most men using cypionate ester.

You can also try to eat tons of food and sugars that lmorning before your test, it reduce your values for testosterone pretty significantly, but not to the degree biotin will interfere; with the additional benefit of the manufacturer listing biotin interactions and noting that interference is a possibility that technicians rarely ever read or add to the narrative, nor do they ask physicians if it’s a factor.

Typically on that dose you would wait 18 days before starting PCT. That is about when the test levels are in about the so called normal range and not elevated so therefore PCT can begin. If you need 200mg/wk for TRT, you are an outlier as far as metabolizing test though so I really have no clue how long you should wait. Best to get some bloodwork or better yet don't do a blast before you are scheduled to see your doc.

DeeMan's picture

Yea going by 5 half lives that would be about 25 days post pin.

Nattyboomba's picture

About 3 weeks. Cyp has a half life of around 8 days, so as long as you stop injections for a minute, it’ll take 18-21 days, typically.

DeeMan's picture

Yep around that time

DeeMan's picture

Yea that half life stuff is debatable. Some say 8 days and others say around 5 days for half life of test c

Lucci's picture

Thanks Bro. I was thinking like 2 weeks because I still need to keep the level where it looks like I'm on the TRT dose . Appreciate the help.

Lucci's picture

so what is 50mg/wk?

Flushin's picture

Lol u just love finding reasons to throw hate around huh?

I think we can deduce what I was alluding too as you just made the statement that "100-200 isn't TRT at all". Actually I guess I can say the same thing to you as you didn't specify either. The difference is I'm not a ^&%^&Y that criticizes everyone's posts and constantly makes sarcastic, belittling comments. Seriously bro you need to check yourself. I've been viewing this forum for a while, even before I registered, and you do it to everyone all the time. Maybe other guys are afraid to say something to you because you have a ton of Karma points, but all that looks like to me is someone that doesn't have a life. Like I've said before it makes me not want to post. I was just looking for help.

And who said I was self-prescribing??? I get my HRT Test Cyp prescribed by a well-known and well-respected Urologist in his field. My levels stay right around 700-800. So seems like he knows what he'd doing because he has me right in therapeutic range.

"Unsure of everything" you say. What exactly am I unsure of??. I get my labs done regularly for my HRT and they are always fine including my hemoglobin, hematocrit, LFT's, BUN, Cr, GFR, etc. I was just looking to see what other guy's experience has been with test level lowering following dose reduction.

As far as 100mg-200mg T. Cyp/wk not being a TRT dose. I will agree that 200mg is on the higher side, but you also have to factor in what the baseline was. In my case it was VERY LOW. In addition, most studies evaluating the use of IM Test Cypionate or Enathate use doses in the range of 50mg all the way up to 600mg/wk. So my dose falls well within that range. This info I'm quoting comes from clinical studies published in medical journals like JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association).

This cat did the same to me because I posted something very similar to yours. I don’t understand the condescending tone when we’re asking for help. That’s why I’m NEVER AGAIN posting bloods or asking questions in this forum again. This cat is always quick at criticizing instead of helping, and all he’s doing is driving people way.

@Rustyhooker suffers from Napoleon complex from time to time and tends to osculate between being very helpful and slipping into a cynical form of alcoholic leprechaun depression. He wasn't treated well as a gimp. I think that the latex body suit and dog collar cut some of the oxygen going to his brain.

Don't let him get to you, try and be empathetic and understand, it's not easy being him.

Reysalsero's picture

Hahahahahahhahaha!!

Flushin's picture

Why do you say this? I'm in the same boat as Lucci. Reputable urologist 200mg/wk.

Flushin's picture

You literally just said " trt is medically scripted, and no Dr. ever just gives 100-200mg/wk".
You're wrong.
To answer your question, yes, my script says take 200mg/wk.

Flushin's picture

Lmao I see what you mean now, no such thing as a varying dose.
*facepalm
Maybe he takes 100/wk sometimes to stock up...

Reysalsero's picture

You must be in love with me. I’m flattered by your attention but I’m straight. Move on

Reysalsero's picture

Cause he’s an idiot that’s way over his had, and thinks that people are here only to read his garbage. Don’t pay mind to this cracker and read from the good guys who are here to help.

Reysalsero's picture

------ you’re such a child. Why would I post that if I was lying? What am I gaining from lying? Dude, grow up. Get a life.

herktime's picture

Kinda siding with @Rustyhooker in principle here but to be fair, the FDA prescription insert only says it is approved for marketing and therefore on label prescription in ranges of “50-400mg [every two weeks]” - never understood that and it’s old approval so the indications aren’t broken down, but suffice to say it’s lawfully prescribed at one 400mg dose every 2 weeks, or one 200mg per week. Possibly one 400mg per week but can’t imagine…

Flushin's picture

What day post pin do you get tested?

Greg's picture

Your doc will tell you; the last possible moment before the next pin... preferably in the AM. You're looking for your lowest numbers.

Flushin's picture

Lol ok, well then there is no doubt I'm below 700 at 200mg/wk. shrug

Makwa's picture

My doc would freak out if he saw my levels above 700.

Greg's picture

So what? unless you dip below normal that's not an issue. What is an issue, is if your levels are above normal at any point. You don't want that either. It took about 18 months working with the doctor to find the correct dosage and pinning frequency to have good, consistent, mid-range levels.

Flushin's picture

It's just that everyone seems so shocked at my dose. I feel 10x better than I did when I started, averaging below 100 at 30 years old

Greg's picture

What's your "normal" levels at 200mg per week and what is your pin schedule? You seem to be dancing around the numbers and not giving us any clear indication what they are.

DeeMan's picture

No dishonesty is when you lie on a fellow eroid brother (me) by making up stuff without any evidence and saying things like "you owe 13 reviews." So not sure if you should speak on dishonesty again rusty lol....And yeah the weather is horrible out here. Lol crickets as usual huh? I know!

DeeMan's picture

Ahh lil baby finally off that Gerber Budweiser huh? Don't get too blasted like ya did in the past now. Never know, might mistake someone for someone else by saying that they owe 13 reviews. We don't want that to happen again ya digg? Or according to you it never happened haha

Bro I'm just going to respond to this one more time. Like I said yesterday, I've been on T. Cyp 200mg/wk for the past 2 years. I was originally on 100mg/wk when I started HRT and my Dr.(a urologist, not a Dr. from a HRT clinic) bumped me up because I was on low end of therapeutic range and I was still having issues with low libido (I'm 46). I guess I should have just said 200mg/wk from start, but I thought I was being thorough. I'm not sure what deceit you think I had in mind. I provided honest info and was just looking for some advice. I'm well informed medically as I'm a pharmacist. I can look up the half life's of these compounds myself and try to determine how long it would take for my levels to drop, but as we all know what's in books doesn't always equate to what occurs in real life. I guess I was just hoping to get someone with practical experience to respond with some info. Instead I feel like I've been cross-examined. I'll say it again, why would I lie? How could I possibly benefit from that? I wasn't looking for a lesson on pharmacokinetics, which I've taken in pharmacy school, just some feedback on what other's experiences have been in regards to the question I asked. I received some helpful responses (Thank you Makwa, Liftedpresence, Greg, Deeman, Press1 Onesick, and Ghost and anyone else I may have missed). If I do or say something wrong I'll be the first to say I'm wrong. I just mispoke yetsreday. If you still think I'm "Lying" ..LOL ...so be it, but that's all I got.

No hard feelings Rusty. I guess I just took offense because I didn't know why you seemed to be attacking me, making assumptions, and criticizing everything I said when I was being transparent. I know a lot of guys on here aren't, but I am and since I'm new I guess you'll have to see that over time......

Reysalsero's picture

Bro, he was attacking you. And will do it again and again. Just like he did with me when I was trying to get assistance from the community. Called me a liar because of my numbers saying I was self administering when in fact, I work with honehealth, and that was the actual rx I got. Like you, I don’t need to lie, there’s no point. But, he assumes w/o knowing and trust me, he’ll do it again and again, just like he does with others. I’m glad you got the help you needed and best of luck bro.

DeeMan's picture

So your levels stay around 700-800? What's levels on 200mg/week of your prescribed test c? I didn't see it.

Lucci's picture

700-800 is my level on 200 Cyp /week

Stephenalt's picture

200mg split eod has me at 800ish total 48 hrs after pin (so immediately before next scheduled pin - if that makes sense). This would be the absolute lowest point, and I don't have a reading from "highest possible point," but with cyp I can't imagine it would be over 1000.

I keep hearing stuff like "150 is a generous dose," and "200 is TRT+," which I don't think is helpful. I've seen enough bloodwork here to understand different people react very differently: just saw some results where the OP was over 3,000 on 350mg. Don't understand why, but it's a reality.

And it's probably a good reason for this OP to reschedule the appointment. Ideally he'd get a test on blast, get off for X days, then get another test to see where he's at. That way he'd know exactly how to approach this the future.

I'm late to this party but hope things went well...

DeeMan's picture

Ok cool. I forgot to ask what is levels at trough( lowest point) and Peak? I'm just curious. We can learn from this.

Either you metabolize testosterone super fast, as in you're an outlier or you have bunk gear. That low of levels on 200mg a week. That's crazy
