Suboxone-
Is there anyone else in here that is currently or has been addicted to suboxone?
..well i have! Was on opiates for years and lost everything and the only way i could get "clean" was to get addicted to another drug.suboxone-although at the time i decided it was better than the alternitive?is it/was it? Idk? Like aas everyones body and mind is different.and addiction effects us different.so i guss what im getting at is there any1 who is struggling to "ween" off suboxone or methadone? And is there any1 that has completed the "suboxone program"? If any1 knows me im not much for writing as it shows but its been on my mind and it helps me hearing sucess stories and is also nice being able to help another brother or sister out.so please how is everyone?.......-peace-

I remember. Methadone IMO should be used strictly to detox. I don't think people should be using 200+ mg of that shit a day with klonopins or Valiums (no idea why but seems a lot of doctors put ppl on both at once). It's got a horrible reaction in people. But yeah man There is a show I watched a while back called methadonia on HBO. Crazy man! I think this Bupernorphine and Naloxone shit is a much better alternative. It may sound silly but I'm basing this on what my eyes tell me. Ppl get way too fukt up on the other shit. Seems these subs don't get ppl doing the methadonia shuffle , bent all the way over without bending the knees and finger tips barely off the ground for 5 second,...then straight back up into a standing position answering the question you asked 2 minutes ago. Never saw subs do that. But I don't know

ReadyToKillIt's picture

I saw that documentary and experiemced methadonia firsthand. It truly is liquid handcuffs. I started with it because i knew it still got you high and i was onlyhalf committed to quitting. After a few months of being out of the hustle, I was ready to fully commit. I switched to subs and I can truly live a productive life on the these. I will be off eventually, but that will happen when it happens.

Methadone is only bad like that when people keep telling the doc I need more. When in reality I had 2 gram a day heroin habit. And 55mg of methadone was enough. I stayed sober and wasn't all fucked up because I wasn't overdosed on it. I truly did everything my counselor suggested. And it worked. 2 years on, and the last year of it was weaning down. 2 mg a week worked for me. I'm a great example of methadone working to give my life back. I tried to detox and never stayed sober. 982 days sober today. Although I did attend meetings (4/week) read the big book,12&12, daily reflections, and attended church. That's what worked for me. Everybody is different. I hope this helps some one. Pm me if you want to hear my whole story

Edit! Way too much info in the open. Pm me if you want to talk iboga or ayahuasca

cdyrdes's picture

Isn't ayahuasca the root of a certain tree from the amazon thats supposed to make you hallucinate real bad?

Edit

This Is a talk for another thread. But no and yes. Depends on your perspective. The rumor is if you want to know the secrets of life and travel to another dimension to see interdimensional beings, ayahuasca is the way. But it has a profound effect on addicts. But the iboga is the real prize. It has a 95% success rate for curing addiction. I'm not exaggerating

it comes down to will power bro. I see many say it cant be done but im a firm believer in if you want something bad enough and put in the effort the sky is the limit. have a strong support system and think of all the reasons why you shouldn't be dependent of any drug and write it down, wean yourself down little by little doesn't matter how long it takes any little bit is progress bro. I've seen many come of shit after years living the life some who had worse addictions than others , I had a buddy who would go through 4 to 5 oxy 80s a day sometimes more sometimes less but did it for years , constantly getting sick trying to round up the next killer so he wasn't sick , the addiction had control of his life his life revolved around the addiction. but one day he had enough got a script of subs and was on them for 3 years and little by little weaned down and before he knew it he was taking barely any , when he finally kicked it the mental addiction was still there and at times boredom would set in and his mind would wander thinking about getting high but he never gave in , still to this day hes sober , not because of any miracle drug, not because of some program , not because someone made him but because he truly wanted to be clean and if you want something bad enough and you do whatever it takes without giving up you will succeed its easy to get clean but its just as hard to stay clean. it takes a hell of a lot of will power and effort no body and nothing will do it for you, you have to take your life into your hands and make a change.

I'm glad that worked for your friend. But as somebody who was an iv heroin addict, meth, crack, benzo, alcohol, and any other drug I could ingest for over 15 years. That wouldn't work for me. Not everyone can just do that.while I'm happy it worked for him. He is a minority. And working a program has worked for millions upon millions of people. But the method you describe is no where near as effective. I hope people don't read this one story and think it's the answer. Reading the big book gives you testimonial after testimonial of people using the steps and succeeding.

Everyone is different and it comes down to determination period. Are there many worse than others sure, and being and ex drug dealer i saw many clean their act up who were clinically oversosing multiple times a day.some did it with multiple different drugs to help them get off, others did it with minimal, point being its going to be hard for anyone . Different drugs carry different types of dts i was strictly relating to a opiate addiction which carries some serious dts. But there are also many who have an addictive personality in general and there is no drug for that its strictly will power and determination to get and stay clean. For example opiates require different drugs to help dting aka dooe sick same with heroine, bezos different ball game stay on and abuse to long and dont wean off you can have severe seizures and die or cause extreme harm to yourself, alcohol different meds required different dts which include both sickness and seizures due to the dependency. This was for someone who was dependent on opiates not anything and everything. Anything and everything is a psychological issue trying to fill a void like depression, loneliness, boredom etc and just enjoying getting fucked up. Anyone who reads one situation and holds it too all situations is truly fucking dumb my friend no offense. A minority i disagree maybe a minority for all addictions in general ,but not for opiate dependency and opiate dependency only.as of late it has come to everyones attention that phishphan is still a junkie and doing shady shit as junkies do but hopefully he straightens his life out and stops getting high on opiates or whatever .....

Don't put a number on it just know you will be off them when your ready. Take it one day at a time. It works if you work it...your worth it so work it. Lol

Nitti's picture

I personally know some fucked up people that were the worst of the worst junkies and today, are normal, happy , productive people thanks to suboxone. Some of them just couldn't do it without it and that's cool for them. So wherever you stand with this, don't let other ppl make you feel bad about yourself. You just keep doing the damn thing and keep focused on what's important. I know too many ppl who this shit helped to sit back and let false propaganda get slung around about it.

I've been on subs now for 4yrs, I'll start by saying that they are way worse than painpills any day. I've tryed many time to go cold turkey but it just dont work major withdraws.Im so ready to get off of them that its not even funny. I started out on 3 a day the 8mgs now im down to 1 a day. Some days I cant get by on just a half of one. We can kick this habit if we want but it will be hard work. I use to hate myself when I was on pills but I like the person I am now on subs. they seem to make me calm and more relaxed just all around happier. I know its a false happiness but at least im happy.

they are way worse than painpills any day

This statement always makes me shake my head. This is something someone put in your head and you took it hook line and sinker. There is no such thing as one being worse than the other. If it feels worse to you it's becuase you think it's going to be worse. The only difference between any opiate painkillers is their half life. Bottom line they all attach to the same dopamine receptors and they all create the same issues. This one in particular is designed slightly different. It's an opiate blocker along with another drug. The active life is a lot longer which prompts ppl to say "it's so much worse" outloud which is essentially dope fiend bro science.

I've tryed many time to go cold turkey

Why would you do that? There is no need to ever cold turkey any opiate. You're setting yourself up for failure. Being sick with every common uncomfortable, nasty ailment you can think of is not something ppl handle well. Not in our instant gratification nation. Weaning down is obviously much more practical and you give yourself a fair shot. Look at how they do it in detoxes. They have a method that seems to do the trick. Follow suit.

This is for all you guys on suboxone or methadone or any other opiate with fear in your heart. Stop listening to the devil inside you and definitely stop listening to Joe Blow over there with the needle in his arm telling you subs are worse. They're a tool! If you're truly ready to stop, you'll stop. If you for whatever reason feel that being in suboxone is what keep you from going back to the diesel, then do your thing. I ain't mad at cha and you shouldn't give a shit anyway. It's your life. Your quality of life at stake. If you're like my man Shaun here and you feel like you are finally at peace with being on this, then that's awesome! Don't let other ppl make you feel bad about it. Fuck them! They don't know what it took to get u where you are. Anyone who can so freely throw around judgment from atop their high horse clearly doesn't understand your journey. But if you're trying to stop and get off that as well, don't let the bullshit infect your thoughts. It isn't worse than the next drug as far as your ability to kick it. The active life is longer. Prepare for it. Wean slower. Forget the shit ppl say. You'll notice some say it's easy as cake. Some say it's impossible. What's that tell you? You get my point...

noob143's picture

Now this is what I'm talking about. Do you bro. This is solid words. Listening to "they say" will get you no where. If your not doing all the foul stuff you did when you were at your worst. Then you are succeeding.

ReadyToKillIt's picture

Its all good bro I started the same way. Try this, half an 8 in the morning then a quarter of an 8 at night. Do that for about 4-5 months then try cutting the morning dose in half. Thats how i started weaning down from 8 mg. I actually found it easier to drop from 24 mg to 8 mg, than dropping below 8 mg. Im currently at 1mg am amd 1 mg pm.

Hey brother I sent you a FR. Get back to me.

It wasn't approved in the US until October 2002, which means it wasn't really available until well into 2003.

See, I hate a liar. Thank you sir for confirmation. This guy trying to plant the seed of doubt in this guy's head. Toxic!

Wtf are your credentials? Did you just tell him to keep using until he can afford to take months off of work and afford a multi thousand dollar treatment facility? You must be the worst specialist ever. Almost pure shit you posted here. If it werent for the talk about a support network, Id say you have no clue what you are talking about.

There is a ween down on suboxone but there is no ween off suboxone

False.
You'd be more credible if you could spell wean

comes down to the mind if you truly want it you will do it. It'll be hard but your dedication and will power help achieve.

I've gotten myself down to 1 mg 2x per day. I started out 6 yrs ago on methadone at 120 mg daily, switched to sub 5 years ago at 8 mg 3x daily. My dr just wanted to keep me strung out. He flipped when i told him i started weaning (lol some docs are just as bad as dealers). Anyway, my original point was i couldnt imagine even withdrawling off of 2 mg let alone anything above that.
