Road Rage - A lesson to be learnt.....
Had an interesting afternoon today. Picked up junior from school for a change as I got home early only to be involved in what I would describe as the most extreme anger outburst I've ever seen.
Effectively a car pulls out in front of me from a side road, I swerve onto the other side of the road to just about avoid him, this guy the jumps out of his car shouting and screaming that I should have just let him out. Ok, calm down, nobody is hurt I thought to myself. I should point out here that I drive a Range Rover with tinted windows, so this lad can't see in......
In his rage he comes over to my car and opens the passenger door which is nearest to him. The seat my young daughter is in. The door opens, he starts swearing and threatening me going crazy right in my daughters face. Now I'm in "protective dad mode". So I jump out, walk round to greet him, he looks at me and says "oh shit".......
My daughter is petrified by this guy, (who must have been about 140lbs by the way), crying etc in the car so I'm now as angry as this guy was. I settle my daughter, then go back to his car to "discuss" with him. By which time he has decided he no longer wants to threaten or attack me for some strange reason and is really sorry. So sorry that he climbs into his own boot to get away from me lol!!!!
End result was I didn't, (and wouldn't), lay a finger on him. Hopefully the fact that he was scared will stop him behaving like that again. I'm a big softie usually, but when it involves upsetting my kids, the game changes.
Hope my event entertains!

i wouldnt of touched him either but my bat would of smashed his teeth out cunt!!! that makes me vicious just reading it, sorry to your child mate
AnonHe probably shit his pants. 6'1 250, and since we all know everyone here trains a bit different than the average joe :).
Yea he shit his pants. I would have made that guy apologize to your daughter and explain how grown ups do stupid things sometimes.
Man I'm not even on anything at the moment, have a passive demeanor, and if it were me I'm not sure I would have handled it too well when my daughter is involved. You definitely can control aggression. I would have proli pulled my 40.
He does that to the wrong person and he'll get his head shot off... You did good man
Ed raises his hand Ooh pick me pick me!
LMAO!. That's too easy for you bro. You stick to shank'n hookers
somewhere in here..you stopped your car.. which means you decided to get into with this
ass-hat..which is where you went wrong.
Im just as guilty of doing what your doing (so) I really don't have a place to say something. I had one of the episodes last year.
2 - a-holes in there 20's . I managed to scare the shit out of both of them.( lucky me ,, or maybe lucky them..not sure.)
Point of this is.. Even if this goon was a 120 lbs soaking wet with rocks in pockets.. your better of avoiding
shit like this. Court costs, Pain, and or worse is not worth it.. I have a "very" short temper... and its taken
me years to learn to control this and avoid trouble. ( esp with your kids in the car ).
Your driving a Range Rover.. could have easily run this guy over..(lol.)
just my 2 peso's..
I hear you and you're right, probably should have just driven away. In this instance I had to stop, (country lane, this car effectively stopped in front of me sideways blocking the whole road), so didn't have anywhere to go other than reverse with traffic building behind me.
Definitely better to avoid where possible.
I'm sorry but disagree. You're car was blocked and dick head opened your daughters door and could have hurt her. You had every right to pummel his sorry ass into the pavement and hamburger his face with your fist. You could tell court that you were in fear of your daughters and your life since HE got out of the car and forcibly opened the door. I would be in court with a big ass smile knowing that I protected my daughter and she can count on me to be there.
last time I checked... most doors have locks...and windows roll up..
and most people usually have cell phones.
Or you can get out of the car and have something worse happen.
In the OP the guy opened the door and was standing by her.
yes.. I got that..
I totally understand why you'd feel that way and I don't disagree. I just don't ever want my young kid to see me kicking lumps out if someone, justified or not.
Its your call but a man having the audacity to open up a door where my daughter is seated and proceed to scream at me from that angle over my daughter is a clear and present danger to my daughters well being. There is no discussion at that point since it only takes a second to pull out a knife, gun, punch her in the face etc etc. Its obvious that limp dick would have had continued his barrage if you weren't so big and likely has never been on the receiving end of a good thrashing since his loud screaming would likely deter anyone less-than-huge to avoid confronting him. Just my opinion.
I agree 100% that is a selfless act for sure not subjecting her to that. If I were to be selfish I would have taken the guy out even if he didn't pose a legitimate threat just so I could feel better. But how do i later get those images out of my daughters head? I say again good call.
Your a better man than me if someone did that to me and my little girl it's on I don't give a shit!!! I would go into scared freaked out totally fucking nuts Mode!!
RustyhookerDude.....good thing some size and balls gives intimidation factor. He voulda been a full wakko and on your Childs side of the car. Glad you did that as it probably saved his life. He keeps that up, there will be that door he shoulda never opened.
Absolutely. He does that to some of the boys I train with and he'll find himself in a whole world of trouble. I've got a feeling he might think twice before he plays the big man again lol!
Nice to hear you are able to control yourself. I couldnt imagine being in that situation. Especially with a newborn I could only dream about what it would take to hold back. When your big tho people just dont wanna fk with you
He had a lot of guts just opening the door. Thats asking for it....Way to be an example for the children. I'll go +1 you somewhere real quick!
Well done! Using the appropriate force. Not that I care for this guy's well being but for the sake of not having your daughter see you pummeling this man. Those images would be hard to shake for you daughter. I have often found my personal weakness has always been my family. When we go on a vacation I am always thinking differently about scenarios such as I can't respond the same way as when I am alone because my first priority is to make sure they get away safe if need be.
You have a lot of self control.
If I had a daughter and a psycho got that close to her let alone yell at her face I would (without hesitating) do whatever it takes to destroy that fucker.
Glad to hear this didn't end violently, but when you daughter is in danger that would definitely cross the line
WeatherwedBTW- Excellent judgement not using violence in front of your kid. It's one thing for a kid to be upset about a threatening stranger, but it's way worse to see their father engage in mutual combat. When you're with your kids there's no room for ego- just their well being.
That's very true, wise words. Difficult not to lose it in that situation, but you've got to put the kids first. Last thing I want is for her to think its acceptable to hurt people even if you could argue there's good reason to.
WeatherwedI carry foam cs pepper spray in my car at all times. One day coming home from school a guy slammed on his breaks in front of me and got out headed towards my window. I guess he thought I was tail gating. I calmly rolled down my window, allowed him to get close enough, and sprayed him in his face and mouth while he was screaming at me. Put the car and drive and pulled off. He was still laying in the middle of the road when I lost visual.
It wasn't something I wanted to do, but I was sitting on my ass and I wasnt going to wait for his intentions to reveal themselves in the form of a broken jaw.
my brother did something like that.. I think he got a visit from the cops.. wicked funny tho..
You should have stabbed that little bastard right through the sternum. That's what I would have done.
everytime i come back and read this i crack the fuck up....i just imagine your self pic avatar stabbing someone real quick hahah
I would have lost it an beat his head of his shoulders
HAHAHAHA. Thats greatttt! People like that are ridiculous IMO theres no need to get out of your damn car to try to settle something so stupid. You did the right thing tho. All that working out paid off scured him away real good.
he was lucky you are a nice guy! would've been a bad day for him if you were one of those short fused individuals. funny how when he saw you his demeanor went a complete 180, haha... Lifting weights for the win.
That's exactly what I told him when he was shitting himself trying to get away from me. The next guy you have a pop at like that might decide he IS going to kick you around the road.......
AnonLook at you!! Your a hero in your little girls eyes. Way to go pops ;)
Definitely not in the hero category. Think she quite likes the "my dad is bigger than your dad" line mind you....
Lookin a certain way is usually a deterrent. In most cases there's a zone you don't go into with a man that's bigger than you. You acted only when you needed to. And you still kept your composure. You're a better man than me. The minute that fucker touched my car door ,..shit not even,... The minute he approached the seat with my child or woman or anyone I love sitting in it, he was getting met right then and there. And if he managed to open my door before I had a chance to react he'd have been picking all his teeth up off the ground. It's not right or smart but there are just certain things that set me off. I maintain much better control today than I once did. But still, there are some things that just cause me to see red and get tunnel vision. When it comes to protecting a loved one, I'll murder someone with my bare hands. Come at me aggressively while I'm in a seated position, you're fuckin done! I'm not asking questions. You handled yourself like a man! You thought it through and kept your child safe and calm and defused the situation. I can only hope I would handle it the same way if I'm presented with it.
I'm pretty calm Nitti, comes from my years of martial arts. If he hadn't been threatening in my daughters personal space I wouldn't have even felt the need to scare him like that. As much as I felt like it, I'm not getting locked up for assault for some prick like that. It just isn't worth it.
I totally agree. Unfortunately I don't possess that kind of self control all the time. Maybe a product of my environment. Maybe just mental. But I try. I wish I did brother! It would have kept me out of a lot of trouble. They didn't teach me discipline in boxing. Martial arts is all about discipline.
Great job keeping everything under control. I hope I can maintain the same amount of composure if I'm ever put into a similar scenario.
I just googled boot. The dude climbed in the trunk of his car!?
Sorry, should have translated that!
Absolutely, climbed right in there as I opened his front driver door. I went from wanting to rip his head off to nearly pissing myself.
Hahahahahahaha oh my god! I would have died! Hopefully with all of the surveillance cameras you gys have over there this winds up on YouTube. That's awesome.
No cameras, country road. Shame, I'd pay big money to have a copy on DVD.
small man syndrome. good thing u didnt touch him if ur daughter was watching, have to set a good example for the kids but i dont have to tell u that
I think probably was the case, a touch of "I'm small but hard". Wasn't quite so tough curled up in his trunk / boot !
Ok,so after googling what a "boot" is,that is hilarious.
Props for keeping your head on strait. Could have been a lot worse but it sounds like your work in the gym was the only thing needed to calm that dude down haha
AnonI think my children know I would defend them fiercley, and that includes non physical threats (unless of course they are from me ;) ) But I would not want my children to see me in a fight , no matter what the outcome I think you really kept it together nicely. So much for roid rage eh ? Road rage beats it every time ;)
If I showed you the cycle I'm running at the moment Nov, this scenario would make a mockery of the term "roid rage".
Good stuff, staying calm is important. But when you fuck with family or put them in jeopardy, its on. For me whatever has to be done to protect a loved one is acceptable. +1 for keeping your cool.
You showed far more restraint than I would have. My kids are off limits!
Way to go keeping your cool!
It was close mate! In retrospect I'm glad he climbed into the boot, made me laugh out loud rather than ripping his head off.
I would have loved to seen that! Comes out screaming and swinging runs back and climbs in his boot!
