Quick True Life Story - My Son

ad

My son recently got out of the Navy after 4 years of honorable service, over the course of his tour he stopped at various ports overseas (he's always been into BB, grew up around it) and being a young teenager - he knew it all. I got lots of letters from him during his tour about how easy he could get gear over the counter at some of the places his ship stopped at.

I always tried to tell my son that he doesn't need that stuff at his age, but of course he didn't listen, he knew it all. He did swell up, he out grew me in a matter of a couple years. Anyways, fast forward to June 2010....he's out of the Navy and back home, he gets a decent job, works hard, stops working out as much as he used to, he gets married and basically settles down into life.

Him and his wife have been trying to have a child ever since he got out of the Navy last year - nothing. His sperm count is next to zero...his answer - more clomid lol. Geez, kids! He finally leveled with his doctor and he told my son that "time will tell" they're doing sperm counts every month...and he's chemical free (as far as I know).

Was aas the root of his problem? Who knows? Infertility does not run in our family, his wife's been tested, she's ok, it's his sperm. It's possible that his sperm count could return to normal in a year or so, but for now, it's ruined, I think in the back of his mind he knows that aas was a contributing factor, but what's done is done (for now at least). He's told me many times that he wishes he never went down that road to start with.

The morale of the story is this: IMO, if you're under 25, you honestly don't need to be stabbing aas into your ass, you'll be very surprised at what a proper BB diet can do, figure out what types of exercises work for your own body, then break down your muscle fibers and feed them well and you'll grow like hell.

Your body will tell you when you've hit a plateu - then (if you want) use aas to break through that plateu to the next level, and only "shock" your body every few years. That's my opinion, it's worked for me, it takes a long time to figure out your body and what it responds to, the types of fuel it needs to reach its peak, calories, proteins, carbs, fats, it all gets very confusing very fast...there's no cookie-cutter workout or diet for everyone. We're all different, it's up to you as an individual to train for size not ego.

Personally, I can look at a doughnut or stick of butter and gain bf, others can eat it, refined sugar, high glycemic carbs, they're all toxic to me, others can shovel it down, it took me nearly 20 years to figure out my body, but once I did, I did. People always guess I'm 35 or 37, when I tell them I'm 46 they're like "no way!" That's the best compliment of all Smile

I told all this (and much much more) to my son over the years - he didn't listen, now he can't have a grandchild for me (yet). I do encourage all the younger generation (14-25) to learn your body, listen to what it's telling you. Get one of those big 2" notepads and keep some notes for a week or two, write down what you eat, calculate your calories, protein intake, carbs, workouts and if you don't see (mirror results) in a couple weeks, change it up...but stay off the aas till you half way figure out what your body (really) needs, else you may be in the same boat my kid is in.

That's just my .02 worth of ramblings from an "old" man lol...
