post up your last lift session!
ad
Mine was Catalysts arm routine...if you don't know...do yourself a favor!
That shit hurt's beautifully! Throw it up! Your last most recent assault on your body underneath the weights! Maybe YOU are throwing weight in a certain manner that will benefit a stagnant day under the weights for the rest of us!

I also seem to feel them better with a supinated grip. I still mix in some overhand as well.
Ha! Thats why I like this thread...a refresher course.
Back this morning. Had a rest day yesterday and it showed today. Pulled a lot of weight today.
Deadlifts up to 300kg for 5
Dumbbell rows up to 90kg for 6
Wide grip pull downs up to 150kg ish? For 8
T bar rows up to 140kg for 8
Underhand grip cable rows up to 150kg for 8
Narrow grip high hammer strength pull down up to 160kg for 8
Done. My shoulder still hates wide grip pull downs with a passion.
You gotta put up some pics for us bro. No face, no ink, just mass.
X2 I've been waiting for that..... No ink or face and he wil be fine.
Exactly!................. it would be a crime not to post a pic to show the engine behind all that power.
I feel like a little boy after reading that fkn list lmao!
Read below - I might be changing my lifestyle shortly. I certainly don't do any science anymore and I never did like playing referee in office bickering. Anyone need a has been bench scientist? Comes reasonably house trained, follows basic commands like "squat", "lift". Can be expensive to feed, not particularly cute and often unnecessarily sarcastic to be honest.....
"Change is as good as a rest!........ so they say!
Do it i say............ feeling trapped in a fkn job is unhealthy, make the break sooner than later imo.... the world is your Oyster
Worst career decision I've made. Greed took over and I just looked at the ÂŁ's if I'm honest. Life's too short.
Ive been self employed since 81........ had some hairy moments mind in the first decade but its best decision i ever made.
I sold up and retired a couple years ago but got bored so started up again lol........ not as big, nor am i chasing the Dragon any longer, just taking my own time renovating one building and enjoying a big cash in day.... no rush, im not under any pressure at all and suze is running the gym and all the classes that go with it so everything is all very nicely under cointrol......... happy days!
Hope you get settled very quickly man..... have a total chanfge and get physical instead of massaging test tubes lol
All the while I do my current job I won't. That being said, that may not be got much longer the way I feel at the moment.
Had to convert kg's to lbs...you definitely got your monster on this morning Cat! Damn near walked through a brick wall for 8 as well!
Had some guy talk to me about entering uk's strongest man last week. I laughed, then I looked st the weights etc those boys are shifting and it's not as ridiculous as I thought.
Thats a nice card to have in your back pocket brother!
I'm tempted, I am. Just not sure if it's a smart move after three shoulder surgeries, two hip repairs, and an acl repair.......
Sometimes just knowing you can do something is enough to satisfy. Then sometimes we must physically do it to be satisfied. If you are like me, when Im tempted, one foot is already in the door. Will I be content with not walking through that door?
Lol - that's me all over too. I wish it wasn't but part of me has already decided to do it "just to see".
Ofcourse "just to see" haha! That competative nature brother!
thats kind of funny i think about doing things all the time ..'just to see if i can' ;-)
And they say we lose the kid inside us...pfft lol
With number like you have been putting up why the fuck not? Go for it
I trained with a strongman competitor fora few years and used to hold my own in the static events. It's the more "agile events" I'd struggle with. That and would I destroy my shoulder yet again? Any more medical sagas and I think I'd lose my mind.
pewpcakepr of 335x 10 on bench
well... i watched some girl in the gym I haven't been to in about six months squat 245 for two reps twice ... (mind you 6 months ago she was doing 225) .... she didn't loosen her belt so i m not sure why she was wearing it and it looked exactly like my inzer so I checked my bag to make sure she didn't take mine by accident ... then I watched her struggle with dead lifts at 275 and I almost went over and asked her if she knew why she hadn't really made any progress with squats and why she was struggling to pick up that 275.... but I figured since she had the stay the f*** away from me look on her face, i just watched her struggle while benched my 225 for working sets while i start my journey back into the gym after a major illness and surgery..
She was having belt issues...
Aww so cute...245...Didn't even try and hide the stare did ya lol
Awesome you got back to it Miss GRRL! I had no idea you had surgery! I remember you feeling ill a while back...had no clue the severity. What matters is you overcame it like a beast-lette and you are ready to check some girls already lol... glad you're back in action!
yeah... i probably did look a lot like that ;-)
its been a work in progress .. a few steps forward and ten backwards ...legs are coming a long slowly starting to ride the spin bike again and working upper body regularly now... can't wait to get back to my deadlifts though ... need to show these people how to do it ;-)
Damn straight! You know the saying, what doesn't kill us, only pisses us off
...well my version anyways. I sense a PR in the making. Anyhow Im pullin for ya to get back to speed and beyond. So it's only right the chocolate cake friday will be to celebrate your comeback!
Welcome back!
thank you I am stupid sore ...lol....
Today was of course Sunday, which for me is primarily about traps. Started things with 10 sets of shrugs at 20 reps @ 225 with two sets mixed in at 30 and 50 reps. And two sets to fail at 315. Next high pulls off the bench for several sets of 6-10 between 135-225. To end the day and really push things (for me) I did basically a power clean into a squat into an overhead press for 6 reps x7 or 8 sets by then I was pretty whipped.
I have been trying to incorporate more compound and Olympic style lifts into my routine lately. It is kind of fun mixing it up and since summer is coming all of these lifts have the potential to burn the winter fat off. I know I walk out soaked
Shoulder was fussy so I couldn't perform the clean part, started with the bar at the clean position and squatted and pressed overhead. Definitely activated different areas for sure...and had my ass out of breath dripping in sweat! Over time have gotten away from lifting like this but other than the shoulder it was very productive. Destroyed traps too. The ache was damn deep
i m not so coordinated and i think i'd fall over ;-)
Ballet classes have worked wonders for balance!
i took ballet classes ... grace is not my middle name ;-)
Well then! Atleast we know if we fall the ground will always be there to catch us lol
I did different versions as complexes yesterday for a change of pace. It definitely gets the sweat pouring.
Saw that you are tracking your macros using an app in another thread...the locamotive is picking up speed looks like brother!
Yea, I am sticking with it. I purposely ran really low carbs a couple days ago and paid the price of a terrible nights sleep, lol. It is getting easier to keep track every day tho and I am now really starting to see where and how I can make this work.
I hear that! When I jumped into this "cut" I way over did it cutting out carbs. The wrenching hunger in my gut kept me wide awake. I've been tinkering with meal frequency, carb source times throughout the day before 2pm and like you it is getting easier. Becoming routine in a way...or sucking much less, whichever.
Never solely commited to traps on any given day. I like this alot! Power clean to squat to press!? Nasty! Im hitting this tuesday. Shock the body big time. Knuckles D!
Yea, they definitely are power moves. As long as I am not hurt or get myself hurt I am digging it.
Found a video of them.

Yesterday was carb up day so I hammered chest and back today. Jumped from chest movement to back movement.
Db flys 90lbs till failure straight to db rows 90lbs till failure. 5 sets.
Incline db press 120lbs till failure staight to bent over db rows 120lbs till failure. 5 sets.
Close grip benchpress 315lbs till failure straight to wide grip pulldowns 200lbs till failure. 5 sets
Pushups till failure straight to close grip pullups till failure. 2 sets. The pump was huge! I cant lie the bf% is dropping and for once I myself was blown away by the image in the mirror. Actually seeing shit happen
Mine wasn't too crazy today. I warmed up with 50 clean pushups, then on the flat bench I pushed 225 with 3 second drops with a two second pause at the bottom, 10 reps x 10 sets, then I moved over to the incline and with 225 again on the bar found out my shoulder was unwilling today. So I switched over to flat bench flies, now knowing how fickle my shoulder was I started at a measly 30 pounds, I pyramided up to 75, again holding at the bottom for a two count each rep and contracting hard as fuck up top. By the time I finished that pyramid I was almost 90 minutes in and it was time to roll.
Again, nothing crazy but I promise come tomorrow I will feel this session.
Some of you guys may notice my workouts usually only consist of 3-5 lifts but normally a minimum 10 sets. A guru around here once told me to run things like that and I have ever since and it works.
Damn shoulders! They are a pain when they fuss! Lifting with no momentum, ass kicking and humbling...see how high you can reach above your head tomorrow lol
Set up a lifting course in the garage this afternoon. Little rest between each movement...just kept it moving for a total of 5 sets each...reps till failure each movement except military press as I have to be able to rack it lol...damn close each time though.
It went military press, to hammer curls, to side laterals, to db shrugs, to tri pushdowns, to facepulls. Wanted a little bit of everything upper body and it did the trick! The pump was nasty from all angles
Some nice sessions going on...
Tuesday was shoulders for me. I always warm up the rotator cuff first using light dbs. Then I get into it:
Standing behind the neck barbell raise
2 X warm up sets at 12-15 reps
4 X heavy sets at 8-10 reps increasing the weight each time
1 X heavy set at 6 reps
Then drop back to the 2nd heaviest weight of the exercise and rep to failure
Seated military press
3 sets of 8-12 reps increasing the weight each time
Then pyramid back down
3 sets dropping the weight each time and going to failure (drop sets)
Upright barbell row
4 sets of 25
Side lateral raises
Start heavy then rep to failure followed immediately by 4 Drop sets reducing the weight each time (no rest) rep to failure each time
By the end I needed the Mrs to mix my post work out shake because I could hardly lift the fucker
Chest day this morning. Anyone else ever get one of those days where you're just a weakling? Everything felt heavy today. Went in thinking I'll train heavy. 3 plates a side on incline felt like trying to press a tank this morning, so switched it up and pumped out a load of volume instead
Incline BB - 100kgs for sets of 25
Incline flyers - up to 35kgs for sets of 20
Flat "hammer grip" flyers - 30kg for sets of 20
Pullovers - 50kgs for sets of 25
Flat DB press - 50kgs for sets of 25
Done. Eating to make up for a below par session. Just wasn't feeling it today.
Those days are definitely frustrating(more common as of late) pisses me off so I do the same thing, "alright you wanna be weak!?" Here take this set after set after set beating!
Did some chest and tris tonight. Dumbbell work, 115s for 16 , 120s for 12, 125s for 2 sets of 8 and then 80s until failure. Wife did 80s for 12 twice and then 85s for 8 twice. Then did pecdeck for high volume. Then a machine for 3 sets slow controlled reps for contraction. Then some fly's. Then onto a few tricep drop sets and tope until failure.
