+ 1 forearms...
I typically lift heavy with the exception being arms. From time to time I'll use heavy weight but nowadays I stick to lighter weight being the bicep and tricep are relatively small. In the past it was strictly heavy curls and heavy tri extensions. That being said my forearms are big compared to my upper arm...forearm being just under 18" my upper arm just over 20". I wondered how much of the work is actually being done by the forearm. So as I'm doing tri pulldowns with light weight...I focus on the forearm. I realize as well as feel it in a way doing more than just being a pivot while performing the excersize. Light bulb! I'm still lifting too heavy as I only want to feel my tri working. So I take more weight off...in light of this post being too long...I'll just say wow I totally left my pride stripped bare baked at the door but had the most intense tri workout I've had in years! As I type this my tris are in utter ache...havent experienced that for as long as I can remember....I guess I'm posting this because shit like this excites me...my lady dont want to hear that shit hahaha she hears enough...

Just did this myself. I was curling some 25's. Huge embarrassment but I really hit the bicep tonight.
Nice! When you think about it...forearms perform alot of the lift doing db curls for sure. For myself biceps are the hardest muscle to isolate. Im thinkin that's due to never really totally isolating the bicep so to speak. So next arm day Im gonna pick up the cute dumbells and go to work. It's hard to get away from that heavy mentality...deads squats and bench need to stay with deads squats and bench...awesome to read that you had success blowin out your bis tonight lifting weight that they actually lifted...by themselves...no help needed
If you want to isolate your biceps do spider curls with low weight to exhaustion, guaranteed you will be sore as fuck and work your bicep to the core. I had to stop doing them because I built so much peak in a rested state my biceps look fkn hilariously big compared to my delts.
Had never heard of spider curls. Just read on how to perform them. Easy enough. It's awesome incorporating a new movement into the routine! Thanks for the info going to try them out. I'll let ya know how it goes Irish
Its about ego, guys in my gym clearly doing curls too heavy for them and they jerk their whole body just to lift it.......and have small arms. I walk over and pick up the cute little pink 30-35 pounders and control my movement and concentrate on my bicep or forearm and I look like popeye. It should never be about pride, it should be about training properly because you will gain massive size and strength while they gain lower back pain and zero growth.....but the invisible ego will be bigger in their brain lol.
Well said! Anyone who reads this...this--->It should never be about pride, it should be about training properly because you will gain massive size and strength while they gain lower back pain and zero growth.....but the invisible ego will be bigger in their brain lol.
