Mono??

ad

So, I got diagnosed with the flu and mono a week ago. It has been pretty sucky. I went back to the doctor Friday and my spleen and liver are pretty swollen. We did some blood work and I go back tomorrow for the results. I was told no contact sports and careful with physical activity for a while. All this seems pretty obvious. I went to my sons baseball game and got winded walking from the car to the field. I'm no where near ready to get back in the gym just yet. I realize my cardio is going to take a hit, but I'm curious about how cautious I should be with my weight training. I can't get a good answer from my doctor, because they don't know much about actual training. Anyone here every get mono before? I've heard of people having it for months. I'm not going to use this as an excuse to throw away my hard work, but I also don't want to rupture my spleen or liver because I was too eager. Any thoughts would be helpful! Thanks!

Update: I went back to the doctor this morning. Labs didnt come back too great. My liver and kidneys aren't in great shape, but that was expected. It's not too serious though. Everything is just going to take time. So, she informed me I was not to train at all for 6 weeks. She specifically said no weights, and no running. I can only walk. It's pretty discouraging after just getting off cycle and having some major gains. I'm going to stay optimistic though. My health is most important. I just have to take everything one day at a time. I just hope I don't turn into my avatar all anorexic looking. Nevermind, my boobs aren't that big I could never look like that. Oh, and I'm not 90. I think I'll be ok. ; )

So, I went to the doctor today and I'm officially back down to my pre-cycle weight. I'm losing all my gains! Someone lay hands on me and free me of this illness! In Jesus name amen....... Or however that goes. I don't really know.

Damn it! Are you telling me not only am I sick I can't get better because I'm broke? You are supposed to be the expert on this Jesus stuff. I thought you of all people could help me. I'm pretty sure if we get all the eroids members to pray it will work! Lol

I had mono once and it was about 2 weeks of really bad cold/flu then another 2 weeks of being sick. I went from 180lb to 155. It was pretty sad but after a month I got right back to 175. (this was when I was skinny and in high school.) my spleen also got enlarged and I had stomach pains from it but it went back to normal after.

I might add I also had strep throat and an infection all at the same time so I didnt really eat for 2 whole weeks because it hurt to eat or drink water. (applesauce and pudding only!)

If you only have mono you will be okay just try to eat what you can and stay out of gym for a couple weeks. Just rest up and let it pass and when you are 100% you can start doing cardio again once your all healthy.

Good luck and don't worry you will be fine Smile

That is so funny to me! I had a guy pm me once trying to hit on me because of my avatar. I laughed so hard! It's supposed to be a joke. Lol... I'm not 90 years old, my boobs aren't fake and creepy looking, and I'm nowhere near that skinny nor do I want to be. I am a small person, but not like that. I looked nothing like her before I ever used AAS. As great as muscle is, there is nothing wrong with women having a little fat in certain places.

Yea I had it a couple of years ago. I was almost done with a cycle when I got diagnosed. It took the piss out of me. Had to take time off work and it took about a full 18review months befor I got most my enery back. Is kind of dragin though. I think mono cause me to have some anemia. Getting some b12 injections to combat.

Yeah, first thing got a steroid shot. I'm now taking an antibiotic to help with a possible sinus infection and the possibility of strep. I do B12 shots twice a week. I am planning to take at least another week off from the gym. I haven't been able to eat at all until yesterday. I got back on my usual diet. I keep craving sherbet for some reason. I got some that's claims it's high in vitamin c. It can't hurt.... Lol. Just happy to be able to eat again. I just had sweet potatoes with dinner. : ) I never eat red meat or fried food anyways. Yeah, I knew something more than strep was going on too. I've had meningitis and mentally that's how I was feeling. I knew something wasn't right. I'm just going to take things slow and listen to my body.

Since I've had several viral infections at once: mono, the flu, and possible sius infection they prescribed me antibiotics to help prevent against Strep since your chances of getting a bacterial infection increases with mono. They didn't put me in the antibiotics until they suspected a sinus infection since they will not treat anything viral. It was done preventively.
