+ 2 Ground Bison
ad
Just wondering if anyone else ever eats ground bison as a substitute for beef. Yes, many people will use ground turkey, but bison happens to be even leaner. It's great for making any recipe that would call for ground beef. It can be hard to find in some places and a little more expensive. I can get it cheapest at one of the health food stores in town. Just a suggestion if you want to try something new. Does anyone else ever eat bison?

Great stuff. I have a freezer full of Venison though but my store has Bison but its real expensive.
AnonBison has more protein and less fat than chicken..plain and simple!! can't go wrong if you can get your hands on some lean bison or venison meat!
Yeah... bison is awesome. I found a website where you can order steaks online. The protein is high, the fat is lower and it has a very clean taste. The downside is the price. Supply and demand I guess. There are more cows slaughtered in a day in the US then bison in a year.
I know costco has bison burgers too.
There's a bison farm not far from my house. That sells processed meat, I should check the prices out. That would be a nice change from chicken, turkey and fish. I've tried bison burgers and there is a definite taste difference from beef. I think you may have me looking in a different direction for a little change thanks.
No problem! The farm would probably be a great place to get it at a reasonable price. The place I get it is just a small local health food store that only carries local goods. It's better quality and better prices than any grocery store. I find that local places like those are usually the best to shop at. I would definately check out that farm!
Every time I get a chance - bison rocks. Unfortunately, it's not often.
I eat almost entirely venison in place of beef these days. I always fill my freezer full every season. It's way cheaper for me to kill a few deer during season and process it and freeze it. Comes out way leaner and cheaper. I get lots of my protein from it, and snack on the venison jerky that I make. I prefer it over beef any day.
sgtstedankoYes, I do. 1-2 times a week. It's good, & also alot higher in omegas : ) I think the reason its not more prevalent, is solely based on price & the fact that its not easily available.
