I’m not your buddy guy

ad

How do you handle it when someone smaller and younger than you decides to call you buddy or pal in a patronizing manner?

While it's normally water off a duck's back, I am pretty juiced up right now. I had a guy say, "Have a good day, buddy." His wife was right next to him, and I'm pretty sure she was eyeing me, so I'm sure it made him feel big.

I had to humble myself because I was at work, and I simply told him, "Have a good day." But is there a clever response to this that won't get you in trouble lol?

Either short tempered or havent been through enough real life bullshit. These arent situations to waste emotions on. That said, a comment like that in front of his girl, if the tone is truly patronizing would likely get eye contact and a chuckle.

This right here. I’m in my own world typically paying attention to my daughter playing and eyeing potential dangers/exit routes at all times.

I do the same thing brother. Subconciously even and it Is PTSD. The world is a crazy place and I'll stay scary. Scary kept me alive in a few spots I could have easily not made it out of. Praise god

You know that’s called PTSD right? “Normal” people supposedly don’t do that. Although normal people are boring.. they are the NPCs of the matrix

I think it’s weird that people DONT look for escape routes, or sit so I can analyze my surroundings.

Analyzing all people and locations of possible threats, as well as exfil isnt normal? I cant help it, but my wife loves it, gets her hot and bothered that im her "protector". Credit to the Middle East for my amazing sex life LOL

Is it really? Well normal people always seem unprepared and caught off guard when shit happens

TeaBody's picture

Yea… but in reality, how much “shit” is actually happening. The statistical possibility of getting caught in an event where we actually need an escape route is nearly zero.

I guess it also depends on where one lives. I live in the rural area. My closest big city is full of weak hippies and neck beards. And after visiting Greece and Italy these past couple of weeks, Europe is full of pussies as well.

Well I personally have been in 3-4. One when I was engaging in illegal activities, so that’s my fault there. The other ones were because pick up basketball breeds pure ignorance and guns were pulled arguing over foul calls.

But those aren’t the scenarios I’m thinking of. Moreso someone trying to snag my kid, a car losing control and coming over the curb, etc. Had one while driving with my wife and we were behind a truck with shit poorly tied down in the bed, I told her to stop following behind them and to go around or something bad was going to happen, second we got past them they lost their entire load in the bed of their truck all over the highway. That’s more the kind of stuff I’m thinking of not really active shooter type scenarios

Ahhh ok… in that case, yes, I’m always on edge

Quiet Ngas kill. If youre bout it bout it, you dont have to say shit. I just walk around...ive got a natural resting bitch face so I try to make up for it by being friendly. But if someone isnt on my vibe... fck em. I dont even allow that negative shit to get in my head. If somebody has to son me to make themselves feel like a man, im usually not even paying attention. My mind is in my own world. If we gotta throw hands im ready but otherwise I could give a fck whats going on in someone else life.

With that being said... with all the cameras out there today... ugh... it sucks... if you get caught in 4k getting Sonned, your life can be over in a heartbeat, these days. Going viral.

Regardless, I think taking the high road, being humble, eating humble pie if you gotta, that shit can save your life these days. Its not worth your job. Its not worth your energy. Its not worth the steam off your piss man. Fuck anybody thats trying to bring you down. Hurt ppl, hurt ppl.

“Lil fella” even if he’s bigger than you. It’s hilarious to see someone stroke out over it.

Hit ‘em with the ole, “you too, Sport”.

Wait until a guy at Home Depot hits you with ‘boss.’

I personally like “thanks, nephew.” And “take care, kiddo.”

Boss bothers me. I don’t know that you can ever say that in a non patronizing way unless you’re fucking with your boss.

Bodhi's picture

Unless it’s in Spanish.
“Boss” feels suspicious and patronizing.

“Jefe” or “cabrón” means this guy knows exactly where the weird bolt I need is.
