Joint pain from Accutane

ad

What’s up bros, looking for some advice.

Been dealing with bad folliculitis for years, then began to get acne on top of it when I stated using different compounds. Finally got on Accutane through my doc, about 2.5 months in and currently at 80 mg a day.

About a month in I started getting lower back pain and now it’s basically every joint. Still training hard but it’s definitely rough.

I’m drinking around 3 L of water daily, taking electrolytes and fish oil, but not noticing much relief.
Anyone else deal with this on Accutane? Anything that actually helped with the joint pain? Not expecting miracles, just trying to make it more manageable.

Vitamin A from fish liver oil was a known cure for acne, but Roche couldn’t make billions of dollars of a vitamin that they can’t patent so they created a derivative called accutane and originally pretended it was safer than high dose retinyl palmitate. Take 100,000iu’s of vitamin A, 1-4 times a day, along with deca and you won’t have any acne or joint pain.

It seems that Accutane causes more problems than what it supposed to be fixing hahaha. Joint pain, back pain, liver damage, high cholesterol

It’s definitely not for everyone. Accutane is a serious cost to benefit decision that each person has to weigh carefully. For me, after years of trying just about every other option without lasting results, it feels worth it. Studies show that roughly three quarters of people who take it see long term improvement, which gave me some confidence going in. And honestly, I’ve put far worse things into my body, especially in my younger years, than a prescribed, closely monitored medication.

I see more horror stories vs success stories about it.. the same could be said about Tren as well, but my dumbass still takes that hahaha

I got lower back pain on Accutane at 40mgs a day no need to be on 80mgs a day
I wish I can find that scientific study where it showed 40mgs is better on a longer run than a blast of 80mgs

It’s definitely a high dose, it’s what my dermatologist prescribed, 80mg a day for 8 months. I’m thinking about lowering the dosage on my own to 40mg daily to see if it’s more manageable and just run it for longer if so,

I think this is the study:

I used 80mg a day and also got back pain. You can def drop the dose and increase the duration - I've found this helps mitigate sides dramatically. I now use 30mg EOD, it seems like the most important thing is total cumulative dose, not daily amount

You can try taking Glucosamine HCL and MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) legal supplement or you can try some Deca

Thanks man, I’ll do some research on the Glucosamine HCL and MCM combo, I’ve never heard of it. Deca is most definitely on the radar. I’ve read that 50mg a week is good starting point if you’re just looking for the joint benefits.

Yes 50mg is a good start for joints. The Glucosamine HCL and MSM combo can be found at Costco but I am sure other places have it as well.
