+ 5 Does Steroid Use Affect Your Relationship?
ad
I’m realizing more and more how lucky I am. My wife of almost 20 years has always been pretty supportive of me. She may not know every detail of what’s in my stack, but she doesn’t hassle me about it and trusts my judgment.
On the flip side, one of my buddies is going through the complete opposite right now. His wife recently found his stash and it’s blown up into a serious issue. She’s even threatening divorce over it. Seeing that situation really puts my own dynamic into perspective.
Curious how it is for everyone else. Are your partners supportive, indifferent, or totally against it? Do they even know?

My fiancé has been very supportive about it actually. I was in some bad health about a year and a half ago. There was a lot of reasons for it but it left me weak and under weight. I had used gear before many years ago and decided to try it again. Being I was 47 and my test had fallen to under 300, I knew gear and diet would be very important. I have made a lot of progress. Gained 25 pounds and feel better than I have in years. Seeing all this my girl has been so supportive. It even got her into peptides and she is always making comments about how much better I look and how happy she is. It has helped our sex life out too, as I had 0 sex drive before with my 300 test levels. Having a supportive partner makes a huge difference.
This last tren run I was a mad man and everything made me mad around my girl. Pretty sure I’m done with tren, but I’ve said that a hundred times before
This is gonna sound weird, but take an ssri with it. Prozac, sertraline or duloxetine, for instance. Let it kick in for a few weeks before you start your stack, and no more crazy mood shifts. Works like a charm!
People may think that's a lot, but taking tren is already a lot, and I love not having any mood shifts personally. I'd rather just not deal with it at all, it makes my life much more manageable.
I am on 40mg Prozac per day. It could also be that we were at the end of the relationship and everything she did pissed me off, and tren just made it worse. If I was in love and happy, things probably would have been different.
Love doesnt hurt and is not angry and painful.
Yeah, 100%. Not really talking to her as intimate anymore. Was a coworker turned situationship, never officially labeled. I've been upfront with her about gear the whole time, she even knew I coach a few local guys. She had a basic understanding, nothing deep. Told her it was just TRT at first, she was fine with it, she smokes, I don't care, mutual "not my business" energy.
Ran my first cycle recently, test, primo, GH. GH was pushing my T3 past range and giving me anxiety. She was supposed to visit, couldn't because of work (checks out, we work together virtually). Peak cycle, looking good(shes loving it), eating clean, first time on primo/GH, anxiety ramping up. Turns out she's got avoidant tendencies too, when things got heavy she pulled back, which obviously made me spiral harder, blew up her phone, which pushed her further away.
Still rocky now. Recently blew up on her again, not cycle induced, just me being too blunt about what I want and need. She's guarded because of her own past relationship stuff. I've told her to call me out if I'm out of line while I was on cycle, she hasn't. Think some of my anxiety comes from her not being as open and transparent as I am, and that anxiety pushes her away more and the drugs did not help. Just food for thought.
I got off everything went back to TRT trying to resolve things but she still pushed back so im back on now lol
Sounds like you would have had the same needy issues without gear. Gear doesn't make you needy. Makes you impatient in traffic.
Now, lying about your gear use or minimizing it in an already established relationship is cause for concern, but that is also not gear induced. It's just bad character.
Also, here's some food for thought that was given to me long ago, and it's a good one: "don't dip your pen in the company ink". Words to live by.
Just like: "if it's got tits or tires, its gonna fuckin cause you problems".
Yeah 100%, not to go too deep but to call myself out, I have a pretty deep abandonment wound, a lot of it from childhood and being self conscious growing up. Mostly dormant in this relationship until her recent pull back, which got too real for her, she caused a lot of it but I gave in 100% too. She has an avoidant attachment stye and I think my needs were valid but she felt she couldn't hold up to that standard. Think what the gear induced was the timeline, if she went a week silent I'd have been fine before on just TRT, but this time a week felt like a month. Usually good at walking away, but it's been sticking with me a lot. Recently decided to just keep it cordial, walk away, not text, give her space, throw my phone across the room and move on. Even her texting me basic things was enough to send me into a spiral so i muted her text notifications entirely, unfollowed her etc.
I was on that boat too, held my boundaries strong when I first met her, but she kept prying in and eventually, you know what happened. Recent events taught me a lot, other women are giving me attention, deattaching as we speak, not good for my mental at all.
Not your therapist, but you gotta work on that head game man.
Tbh, whether anyone will admit it or not, most guys here are on gear because of some underlying issues they have. Whether it's getting old and trying to stay relevant (me), body dysmorphia (almost every single person here), generalized narcissism (pipeliner47), or even just feeling inferior to other men, everyone here probably has some screws that they could tighten up, the point being that you aren't the only one.
You need to be okay all alone in order to attract quality women. Women are like cats. have you ever tried to chase a cat around? They go and fuckin hide. You have to truly be OKAY regardless of whether she's on your lap or nowhere to be found. The less you dwell, the less you focus and freak out, the more cats you will have wanting your pets.
But you gotta find your own purpose first. And it's not "getting yoked". It has to be deeper than that. You have to have a passion and a drive that gives the vibe that you have a purpose and that no woman will ever detract from your intention to achieve it. Once you have that, you won't even care anymore. And that will be the zen you need to slay pussy relentlessly.
My wife is supportive but also blissfully ignorant. If she really knew the nitty gritty of it all she may be a little more apprehensive. We have a very healthy marriage, my usage doesn’t impact it, so I think she just rolls with it.
Yeh if you’re hiding shit from you’re partner it’s not really you’re partner is it….im definitely not a relationship guru and certainly am capable of setting a dumpster fire here and there but something like gear use is a lifestyle by that I mean most of us are on it for life and if you think you can keep that secret up for that long good luck with all that….come clean or come clean ya dig it
Couldn't tell ya mate
Through my relationships whenever I have used I have found that women get more mad about being lied to than gear use. Of course there will be some women that are just totally against it because they are ignorant or you become a giant dick on them. My wife doesn't have an issue with me using, but I am just the same ol person as I was before them. A previous relationship I was literally just on TRT and my GF found my vial of testosterone and flipped out that I was on steroids and started talking about leaving me and all that BS. We aren't together anymore obviously lol.
Personally I feel the relationship with my girl is much better when she is one of those 2 or 3 times a year for a couple weeks moods that she wants to run some low dose var and cialis. Heaven on earth as it was meant to be, boys.
I'm lucky in that she is freakier than even me, and likes it when I'm Tren even more than me too! So there's those "fun" few months every year as well.
A bro of mine got the ultimatum: “Me or her.”
Plot twist… her name was Trenbolone.
So yeah, gear can affect relationships. I guess it all depends on who the real side chick is.
...I don't think so, @Milfpounder has it?
Nah, steroids make me a better person.
I have an open communication with my fiancée about my usage. I do give her a heads up if I'm taking anything that may affect my mood, but I typically keep it chill these days. Being on gear forced me to quit drinking, so her view of gear is that it has been part of my journey to get a better physique and had the added benefit of stopping my drinking-which at times in my life had been an issue. I tell her what I'm using, let her know if I'm changing dosing for a reason, and generally keep her posted on the process. She appreciates it and has picked up on certain slang words and such. She's the best. May you all be so lucky.
My Ol'Lady knows what I do, she doesn't really like the fact that I do it but she over looks it. The only reason why she puts up with it is the high libido, she loves the fact that I want her multiple time a day, every day
michelle692002only when i am taking tren. Last night everything she said i was so dam annoyed with every single thing she said.
At first yes. She said she would leave me if I did it. But I still did it. When I was first getting used to being on anabolics I would sometimes get angry and whatnot. But now I’m used to them and my wife has mad mental issues and I’m able to keep my cool when she’s unstable even while on tren so she doesn’t say anything about them anymore. I’ll give her a heads up even when going on cycle just to have someone aware things could get hairy. Only time she tells me to stop now is when something bad health wise comes up like a bad BP reading or breathing like grizzly bear
Yes for for good and bad usually low doses that help your mental state and in the bedroom... How high does too fast or even after ramping or even being too long 10 nors this all can affect your mental state and if you happen to be someone who's already a bit edgy ..you might some problems...some don't but most gym bros I know ... Heavy gear usage after a long time can affect your mental state in some and usually it's causing problems.. if your relationship is on the rocks and needs tender care .... Even if your the calmest guy gear could add issues... It's real and hormones change the way you think .... Hey you should know that ... Your girl turns into a total bitch once a month...or they can be testy or depressed..my ex was not bad but my teenage daughters ...watch out ..so it's just biology... We work with hormones and enzymes .... Survival ..
When my wife and I started dating I told her I was going to use gear. She said she’d leave me so I left instead lmao. I ended up not hopping on gear but let her know when I hit my 30s I was gonna go on TRT. Went the clinic route and she was whatever about it….. then packed started landing lmao. I never hid it bc I knew I wouldn’t be able to. She recently said she wants me to stop and I said no way. Only reason I’d stop is to have kids. She views it as I’m an addict and I’m taking drugs. She won’t let me explain or talk about it.
Just recently she looked at some of the pills I had I. My drawer. I had some cialis. Adex and Nolva laying around. She asked me what they were and before I could even speak she said she had looked them up and wants me to stop taking them. I asked if she knew why I’d even take them and she said she didn’t care.
I have everything in my closet on my side. Nothing is hidden from her but if she were to start going through oils I had and decided ti look up tren o man! No doubt there’d be arguing.
It’s frustrating as fuck. Bc the only real reason she can give me to stop is bc she simply doesn’t like it. Everything I do is for my family. The only things that are truly just mine is my gear my weights and my motorcycles.
It’s frustrating as fuck.
Technically she’s right, we are drug addicts taking drugs. Atleast all of us not making money off our physiques. We wouldnt be doing this if we weren’t, given the health ramifications. Our drugs just don’t have the social and financial impact of narcotics so it doesn’t seem as bad, and it’s not in many ways. Still very bad in the more important way, our health.
100% I’m an ex addict and it’s the same amount of effort I put into finding better and cheaper drugs, it’s the same with gear. Actually worse cuz it’s a little more acceptable lmao
She is definitely right. There’s no doubt in my mind that my addictive personality and previous drug use made the transition to PEDs easy. You’re right, it doesn’t have a social or financial impact and that’s what makes it easy to justify.
It’s a beautiful tragedy. I’m looking better, new veins are showing, lifts are going up but my inside are being destroyed.
I still think it’s a million times better than being stuck on uppers and downers when managed correctly.
Reality is I’m playing mental gymnastics with her so I can continue abusing PEDs.
Hey, I really appreciate all of you for sharing your experiences. Relationships can run the gamut, and it’s been interesting and honestly eye-opening to read what so many of you have been through. I also appreciate that there’s a place where people can talk about this stuff without real judgment.
Being a gym rat can be isolating on its own, and when you add PEDs into the mix, it can feel even more isolating. That’s why I always enjoy seeing different perspectives here. Plus, a lot of you are genuinely hilarious.
Ex knew I was on TRT. Not sure she knew I cycled but I kept everything locked up.
New GF knows and she injected me eod on my last cycle. She was on HRT when we met and was into peptides so that really helped.
The ex wouldn’t even look at HRT when she had symptoms. Glad she’s gone.
It has definitely affected my relationships in a few different ways to the extremes. However I am very open and honest about what I do with my companions, transparency is really the only way I’ll operate. There also seems to be a fascination or attraction to the lifestyle and the science so it works out
We were on our like 3rd date over a decade ago when my now wife asked me point blank and said something to the effect of she doesn’t care, but wants doesn’t want to be lied to. I really didn’t want to tell her so early on before I really knew this was going somewhere. Lying didn’t seem like a good idea so I told her. It was pretty obvious back then. She was always cool with it.
I was all for telling your spouse and being honest before I had kids. But since having kids my thoughts have changed. if you have young kids I don’t think you should. If something happens and you guys divorce your steroid use is an easy way for her to get full custody. Especially when she starts talking about your frequent roid rage episodes and shows them pics of your stash. Maybe sends them to Eroids too. You should get on Dr prescribed TRT and stick with compounds that could be part of your TRT regimen. And all she should know is you’re on TRT from a doctor. Even if you don’t have kids I read a story on here where the soon to be ex wife sent a guys Eroids account to his job and he got fired. Might have got arrested too, I can’t remember. Everyone’s wife is cool with it right up to the point they can use it against you.
I remember a few years ago doing a cycle, and after a few weeks, my wife said to me whatever lab your using ....Keep using it, lol
That was the ultimate sign of approval lol
Not at all. She knows I take test, mast, hgh, hcg, and cialis also why I take those compounds. She knows when I do something I do it right with lots of research. I research the hell out of shit before diving in even if it’s just buying a blender or crock pot. She trusts me.
I may or may not have forgotten to mention the tren…
Ya that just definitely gets the “forgot to mention” lmao
No. Not if tren is used to a minimum and not too high. I don’t even like tren so I don’t care.
Steroids can DEFINITELY effect a relationship. Tren it's self has ruined a lot of relationships.
You would always want to tell your partner what you do. But some people just can't handle the truth and it has to be kept a secret from them. Like this dumb whore threatening to divorce cuz she found gear. Sometimes you just gotta keep stuff secret from girls because they don't know how to handle things.
Wife knows everything
Girlfriend doesn't know
Mistress is ok with it also
Bro, hahaha
Sounds like if you all got together, be hell of a night bro
Should change your handle to pumping hahaha
I’m in the same boat as you, honestly. I’m very fortunate.
Married for 16 years, three kids, and my wife has always been supportive.
She knows what I do and she trusts my judgment … especially because I study this stuff deeply and I’m a coach, so it’s literally part of my profession. She’s in the healthcare field as well, so she has a solid general understanding, even if she’s not deep into compounds or pharmacology.
Funny enough, she’s the one who helps me pin spots where my mobility isn’t great… so yeah, she’s definitely involved
To your question … yes, steroids can absolutely affect a relationship. Especially when they’re used without intelligence or consistency. Poorly managed 19-nors can mess with your CNS and take you to a dark place. Bad estrogen control can wreck mood, confidence, libido, and emotional stability. If your partner doesn’t know what’s going on, they’ll feel it but won’t understand it … and that’s where problems start.
In my humble opinion, transparency from day one is the best path. Not everyone needs every detail, but trust and honesty go a long way … both for your health and your relationship.
My wife had a hard time when we discussed me starting TRT. I mainly think because she has parents that are close minded (guns are bad, steroids are only abused and make you a killer and so on) Because of that my wife is very decisive in her decisions and of course, is always right.
It took lots of talking and explaining of why I’m starting TRT to help her understand. I showed her my labs and she did a lot of research on her own.
She still doesn’t love that I saw a clinic and not an endocrinologist but that’s what worked at the time. I’ll see an endocrinologist at some point.
Nah, wife knows everything. From when I started to now. Got to keep it honest.
Been married 14 years next month.
Plus, she helps me pin and she started using gear too.
A win win for me.
UNIT_i always wanna bang my gf she gets annoyed
Ive always been up front, right to the point from the beginning if your not cool with roids or weird sex, this is probably not gonna work. Surprisingly in the two or 3 times i have done this, neither of those things were a problem.
My left hand gets jealous sometimes.
She knows everything, I mean everything! nothing hidden, no sneaking around. We’re solid, communicate openly, and the trust is real. She’s amazing. If anything, being honest about everything has made us closer. Hell, we even bring women home together.
When relationships blow up over this stuff, it’s almost never the compounds. It’s the secrecy, dishonesty, ego, or using gear as an excuse for bad behavior. Transparency and trust change the whole equation.
Dirtyred2When on tren I do the opposite of what I’m thinking keeps me out of jail
A few years ago I found that i was hypogonadal. Was 26 with several symptoms and total test was 116. Once I started getting amazing results for my overall mood and health, my lady was onboard. Getting curious about other supplements, id add 1 thing at a time and keep her informed on what im doing and why. This constant communication kept her out of the dark and helped her stay supportive. To help me judge my use of extra compounds and to show her "proof" of good health, I really kept on top of labs too.
Like I saw someone else mention, I think your second buddy just messed up by keeping his lady in the dark. Secrets, regardless of how big or small, will put a strain on a relationship in my opinion. Hell, mine even had me pin her for the first time today with reta when she saw how much weight I lost and shes very skeptical about new stuff. Keeping them involved is just the logical thing to do in my opinion.
She gets alot of interrupted sleep when I'm on deca. Especially if she's facing away from me. Other than that, just typical female bullshit. Its not a problem, and she even likes it..... until we're in an argument and she thinks she can use it as a weapon.
Single now so no. My breakup from a very long term realationship drove me heavy into fitness. I would say fitness/gear has made me a way better man. Physically and mentally. I stand on business, do what l say, and dont take shit from anyone. I fear nothing today, and love every single day im alive. I wish l took fitness serious years ago, life would be even better today. Im proud of the man l am today, and l know fitness and gear deff helped me do that.
