How many of you guys Homestead, raise live stock. The wife and I raise chickens, goats, turkeys and a few geese. We have close to 150 chickens, 3 goats, 2 turkeys and 4 geese. Please feel free to share your homesteading tips and tricks and of course pictures of your animals.

How much is 1 chicken then? What do normal ones cost in comparison?
My wife gets 175$ for a pair, for her chickens which is one rooster and a hen.
So which is there more money in then - selling the chickens for meat or selling the eggs for food?
You know how they have show contest for dogs where they walk them around and their judged well over here in the states we have Chicken Shows. Their judged on color, feather quality, how they stand etc.... all you win is trophy's, bags of chicken food, but most of all you get bragging rights, if you are known for your chickens winning then people want to buy hatching eggs from you or buy some of your chickens so that's where the money is. Me and my wife raise show birds. She can get upwards of $100 or more for one chicken.
If the traits are correct on the breed from Ayam Cemani they can go for 100 to 1,000’s. It’s all in the quality.

Yeah they are cute. Not the smarts birds but my daughter loves them and does shows.
My wife raises Standard Dark Bramhas and she shows as well, there's a huge show in Ohio on the weekend of November 7th and we're showing there.
Can I ask how you guys workout that live in these areas? Is it all home gyms or do you have any gyms there
I live in a very rural area, about 15mins on the outside of town, nothing but swamps and farmland. In town there is a Planet Fitness and a crossfit place, so not many options.
Listen w the right intensity planet fitness can get it done haha
I live in a city of about 500k people. But I live outside of the city limits almost into one of the little country towns that surround it. We go a Y that’s 11 mins from the house that has childcare.. but my favorite gyms are a good 20-25 min ride and they don’t have childcare. I also have a fully equipped home gym so we do a few days a home and a few at the Y when the kids are driving us nuts.

One day I’m going to build a bigger shop and then convert my current 20x40 shop into a gym. My basement gym does everything I need but space is obviously limited. I could have so much more shit in a 20x40. It would be the ultimate home gym. One of my many dreams for my compound lol.

I got a few arseholes living in my building currently who choose to smoke cannibis around their 2 young kids in the apartment - A 1 year old and 7 year old 24 hours a day, I think thats disgusting.
