+ 2 Micro dossing

ad

I'm 46 and looking to TRT. Lately I've been feeling really down and out, no motivation, tired all the time and no sex drive what so ever, just miserable. I see a lot of commercials for TRT most of which talk about dosing 100mg every 4-7 days but lately I've seen a couple of them internet companies talking about micro dosing at 20mgs per day. I can kinda see where micro dosing could keep your blood levels more stable but would 20mgs a day really be enough and also they recommend just giving yourself a shot just like you would for insulin and not intramuscular.
I know most of you guys know a lot more than I do when it comes to dosing and amounts. I welcome any ans all directions on which avenue would be the best to take and at what doses you would recommend

I went from 150 mg once a week on
test C 1300 ng/dL

to

15mg daily pinning shoulders, triceps, thighs, etc
Test C and my totals went to 547 ng/dL

I do feel fantastic and have no sides whatsoever switching to daily pinning. Im also getting stronger every session.

It is weird AF that SERUM levels dropped a lot.

The best I've felt period was using 50mg of prop every other day, sex drive, mood and motivation. Really happy with that protocol.
But I'm just a young dummy with only 1 year experience so I bow down to the og's. Just my 2 cents.

I do 17 mg/day when i'm on just my trt dosing. More frequent doses means more stable blood concentration levels and can help with acne for those it's a problem with. That's why i started doing daily shots. I do daily even when i'm on cycle.

20mg a week you’ll probably feel worse than ever. I think you meant 20 every day

irongame427's picture

You misunderstood. Micro dosing is 20mg ed, not ew. Compared to the typical TRT protocol which is 1 80-160mg shot per week. Or 2 40-80mg shots per week spaced out by 3-4 days.

I’ve never tried this. But I’ve seen alot of people who do in the various TRT groups. Most seem pretty happy with that protocol. It absolutely results in the most stable blood levels and most closely mimics natural test production which occurs daily, not in huge blasts once or twice a week.

Don’t count on your endo having any knowledge of this though. Don’t be surprised if he puts you in some brain dead stupid protocol like 100mg every 2 weeks. Despite their titles being endocrinologist, most don’t know shit about TRT. The original clinical trials that resulted in FDA approval for TRT with injectable test cyp in the 80s was done with 200mg injections every 2 weeks. A lot of endos and urologists still follow this stupid protocol because that’s technically the only fda approved and tested protocol. All this other stuff is off label.

What's the difference between HRT and TRT

Owes a Review × 1
BillyBear's picture

TRT = Testosterone Replacement Therapy ie just test and nothing else.

HRT = Hormone Replacement Therapy ie other hormones including testosterone. HGH + test, you could argue this is HRT

I personally like smaller doses 50-60mg a week. If I want more I just add in npp or bold cyp.

Jockstrap's picture

75mg per week has me at 850. But i also do bloods and use a real Doctor. Microdosing is junkie shit.

Black90tsi's picture

My "real doctor" has no problem with me doing daily doses instead of twice per week. I was having issue with acne whenever adjustments were made and it took months for it to clear up. Daily doses keeps hormone fluctuations at a minimum and those fluctuations have a big part to play with acne break outs. That's the whole reasoning behind me doing daily shots and my doc agreed with the reasoning.

irongame427's picture

No. Most “real doctors” are fucking retarded when it comes to TRT. They’re the ones prescribing people 1 big shot every 2 weeks.

Obviously daily/micro dosing is the most effective approach as it most closely resembles natural test production. Our bodies don’t let out one big blast of test once a week or twice a week. It’s produced every day. And small doses ED more closely mimics that and will result in the most stable blood levels.

The issue is who the fuck the wants inject every single day. I sure as shit don’t. Not IM anyways. So I take my 2 shots a week and it’s fine. But it definitely results in peaks and troughs.

Some doctors and TRT patients are going the subq route for daily dosing. This is the only practical way to your average TRT patient to comply with daily dosing. Alot of people seem to like it. I haven’t seen any complaints. I’ve never tried it though.

Mob112's picture

I actually don’t mind pinning IM everyday. Is it easy when I’m super busy of course not. I don’t get discomfort from pinning. More stable mood, drive, etc. I started at 2-90mg shots a week. Daily feels better. Really depends on bloods and overall individual imo. Just my two cents✌️

Just a few questions for you if you dont mind me asking.

Do you have Insurance or pay out of pocket.
Do you have to actually go into the office every week or do you get a script to take home..

Yup as @press1 stated, I’m almost sure they meant 20 mg per day not per week. 20mg per day is my TRT dose. Keeps all markers in check and total test around 900-1000. Your rate of metabolization may differ so your dose may differ, but one thing stays absolute: if you need an AI your dose is too high.

30g 1/2” insulin pins is what I use specifically. The 0.3cc variety so dosing such small amounts is easier.

irongame427's picture

Are you shooting IM or subq for daily dosing?

SeeOhShow's picture

1/2” gets in to muscle pretty much everywhere on my body year round except glutes. Though either option would work. When pushing ~0.1ml/day sub q causes no problems.

press1's picture

I'm no TRT expert, but based on the things I've read and my own general knowledge 20mgs per week will do nothing at all for you mate - probably make you feel worse than you already do. I know guys however who will microdose 20mg every day using an Insulin needle and they really like that method @SeeOhShow

I think 100mg every 4 days will work well, the gap in between shots is not too long and you will get less troughs than just injecting once every 7 days - thats how I would do it. I'm 45 buddy so just a year younger than you and I can hand on heart say I know if I even got my natty test levels back to normal it wouldn't feel as good as being on TRT - especially if its making you feel low and depressed all the time. It may be worthwhile just to get your own Testosterone levels checked by a blood test first to make sure you are going the right route and that your levels are indeed low.

shaun1's picture

I have my Dr. ordered Test results around here somewhere, I was tested 6months ago and my T levels if I remember correctly was a 228, this was ordered by my Primary Care Physician not a Endo, I have an appointment with a Endo scheduled for Nov 22nd that's as soon as I can get in. It's been scheduled since the last of July.

Ohh blimey mate, no wonder you are feeling like crap. Thats a low number for sure - even 400's a low number. I guess if you are wanting to get on script for it then you will have to remain with these numbers until that time - rather than self administering your own TRT with some UGL stuff. Depends on if you want to go for 2 months feeling like this mate ultimately.

shaun1's picture

No I really don't want to continue feeling like this, for 2 more months it rough,. My biggest concern is what will my insurance cover if I go the Dr route vs UGL's. I'm going to try and hold my shit together for a little longer and see what the Endo says before I make any rash decisions.

Why not call some local HRT clinics? Mine takes insurance, and insurance covers the test. It’s all dirt cheap. When I decided it was time I found my clinic like mid week, had an appointment for bloods the following Monday, the follow up with the doctor Wednesday. And that Wednesday I had a script sent to my pharmacy and a shot in my ass before I walked out the door lol. It was incredibly fast and seamless. I had to call a few before I found one that accepted insurance. You’re unlikely to get good care at an endocrinologist. Some are good, most suck and don’t know anything about TRT.,

Could pop some dbols or take prop and stop for the clearance time before your official test.

How long before my actual test should I stop the prop for my natty level to be back to normal if I was to decide to go that route.

I misread the 20mgs per week, it was 20mgs per day. My bad.
