heroin addiction is a bad MF. I lost everything, and experienced ''lows'' that were unfathomable. Prison, homelessness, and overdoses were actually the norm for me for several years. I Thank God for being clean now....

It is hard to do the AAs thing without recognizing it for what it is; another form of drug addiction. Although AAS are technically considered ''drugs'', they are really just hormones instead.

Brother, you've been through some serious shit. If you're clean at this point, you know how important it is to embrace the "clean side of lifting." As in, lift smart, eat super clean, and stay consistent on both of those fronts. It's easy to do a bunch of steroids. It's hard as shit to crush the gym consistently to put those steroids to work. If it was easy, everyone would do it. It aint. It's for the chosen few.

And for former addicts who got high using needles, the thought that "I need that needle to feel normal" is just as powerful when they start using AAS. There's a reason people CYCLE. Time on, time off, it works. Staying on all of the time causes long term bad shit. Don't be stuck "on" all the time. A person can do considerable damage if they don't cycle.

Good find. This guy is honest and candid. That's the start.

As always, friends, USE YOUR BRAINS.

  • Nothing replaces hard work, dedication and focus.
  • There's no magic pill.
  • You get one trip on this rock. Don't fuck it up with an impulsive decision.

Carry on lads and lasses, carry on.

The low of coming off is horrible..thank god for test is all I will add..
If you cant relate, stay that way..a path the other side never wishs no one takes.

im right there with ya bud...

White Bolt's picture

He didnt talk anything about steroids in this vid, just about his past drug addictions and Zyzz

RoidyNoob's picture

yep, i know. thats why i didnt mention steroid talk on the title. I said he spoke about gear on his channel.
Take a look at it

robb's picture

its possible i suppose, how did he keep his weght on, how could you eat, not to mention lack of motivation. Where did he find the time and money?
Training on methodone is very do able cos im doing that at the moment.
I tried to stay training when i had my last relapse but it went to shit pretty quick. Crack and heroin is a mayor F up. Ill be off methodone soon, about a week now hopefully.
The way he compares himself to Zyzz is a bit off in my opinion. Zyzz was a rec user, jerry ward by the sound of it was an all out junkie, took more DRUGS than i did.
Interesting post. Cant +1 tho.

Im guessing you're taking Methadone? with an A.
Anyways dude, if your overcoming any type of addiction; good for you and much respect.

robb's picture

Yes that's the stuff, green liquid. I'm down to 5ml a day now so hopefully I'll be done in next week. Ive dropped from 8ml too 5ml in last few days so I'm on track. Still going gym, id be fkd without it, lol.

ive tried methadone maintenance, suboxone, etc. But will honestly say that being off ALL opiate related drugs is HONESTLY when you will fee your best bro...

Methadone tapering can be shitty and can take very long... The way i look at it is like this: The weening in itself is uncomfortable, b/c you have to SLOWLY feel worse by the day. And what CAN happen, is that it becomes temting to just go out and get more opiates to put back in that 'comfy place'..

Suboxone, on the other hand, is different. Since it is not a full blown opiate, you will not get that 'tempting' feeling that i am trying to describe. Instead, it will help you just feel content. Plus, you will KNOW that there is no point in attempting to get high while the subs are in you, b/c it would be impossible (assuming u use suboxone, NOT subutex). Also another benefit to suboxone...you can ween yourself off the stuff while still functioning well.

What I did: Come clean off the dope, and start 8 mgs of Suboxone as soon as i started to feel the sickness coming on. The next day, 6 mgs.... the next day, 5... next day, 4..... and so on. All the way down to where one little crumb every day would keep me afloat and content. Then one day, you will no longer need the crumb. From personal experience: nothing helps this process more than starting some gear and trying to think about nothing but getting gains and pussy. All while going to AA or NA and just working a job or doing w/e it is you do. I will take the gym life over being strung out or in prison any day of the week Smile

there are (3) things that makes prison suck: lack of pussy + lack of AAS + lack of good food =]

Fortunately this was 3 years ago. I didn't really have any issues coming off meth, i did the last bit very very slowly with the intention of having a trouble free transition into sobriety.

It wasn't a breeze but no way near as bad as some i know make it out to be. I tried kicking it at 5ml a day but felt shit, got down to 2ml, stayed at that dose for a couple of weeks then woke one morning and just thought fuck it, and just got on with life. The 2ml was barely enough to wet my tounge, a lot of it is in one's mind but if it works then who gives a fuck.

Oh crap my bad - im new on here, so i tend to noot notice the dates on posts sometime. But thats awesome you pulled through bro! I can genuinely feel for ANY person who has been through that. People just dont know what its like, unless they have been there and done it.

I try to remind myself of the pain and anguish that was involved with that entire lifestyle, b/c it keeps me feeling grateful and blessed to be alive. I love going to meetings, but i often make up excuses as to why I 'dont have time', etc. I have learned that there is a distinct difference between thriving and surviving. to survive is to just remain alive with a heart beat....To thrive is to maximize the most out of each and every waking moment, in order to get the most out of life.

I know AAS is not the answer. But I think that things like test and maybe some var or mild anabolics here and there dont pose too much threat. speaking of which, i am going to try to start a thread somewhere regarding additional bloods that are important to monitor (e.g. liver, kidney, etc.) as well as something pertaining to heart health.... The media comes down hard on the whole 'enlarged heart' thing with AAS, so i wanna make sure of how to keep tabs on all that. Glad all is well bro, God bless and keep on truckin homie

robb's picture

I'm on 5ml now so I can taper down ok as long as its done at a steady rate, some people ive met kick it at 5ml but I'm taking this last bit slowly, im at the final stage so dont want to fk up.
Looking forward to a shackle free life.

sobriety is the new high

RoidyNoob's picture

may i ask, what your issues were? just out of curiosity, and how u came to overcome your addiction through fitness...
cheers

robb's picture

My real issue was crack, id buy heroin to smoke on foil after to come back down, get the wired up feeling out of me. Ive never just got heroin.
I 1st got into fitness a couple of years before I got on smack so always had it in me to do it.
Eventually I ended up going to jail a number of times, for petty things. When I.was 23 I got 5 year sentence, did almost 3.5 year of that and just trained my arse off the whole time.
I've had very small relapses since I got out from that and more jail but as soon as I feel bad off the heroin I get on meth and back to gym.
I doubt I'll relapse again, each time I do its for shorter times, and I fkg hate myself for it, seeing all the good muscle just evaporate is a killa, and when I start back ive got it all to do again.
This time I'm already strong, I can do 1 rep at 100kg on bench, unaided, I train on my own and squat 115kg. This is only going to get better and that's why I love the gym, (endorphins aswell prob) only been training again for a few months, I'm making good progress.
I could of just stayed on a maintenance dose of meth but that shit can go on for years, then I'd have the issue of psychological dependence to deal with.
Prob reads a bit mish mashy this, im going to tell the whole tail of it in the recovery section when I get proper off methadone.
Thanks for your interest. If it's not quite clear, anything, just ask away.

Sorry, I'm new to this online forum shit. I gotta remember to look at the dates, didn't realize how old these posts were.

Sometimes people will exaggerate certain things. Like maybe he used to bang H and coke once or twice a day for the most of the time, but on occasions he might have done it 3,4 or 5 times in a day, even on workout days. So years later he'd tell people that they used to do H and coke 5 times a day, as if it was all the time, but really it was only on occasions. And maybe it wasn't intentional, or said to impress anyone, just a statement that was not totally accurate.

Modified's picture

It's definately not sustainable.
