eRoider Down!
ad
Guys we need to send good healing vibes out to DiabloStrong! Him and I were out for a nice relaxing motorcycle ride on Friday when a giant asshat decided to test his brakes on the highway. Just a note, cars stop faster than bikes. Diablo made a noble effort at stopping in time, but ran out of places to go.
Luckily he was wearing a good helmet and riding jacket, unluckily he wasn't wearing good riding pants. His knees are cut up, and the back of one knee is really bruised up fron where the bike landed on him, up and over style.
He'll be fine (and pissed at me for posting this LOL), send him a PM, or leave a comment to let him feel the love!

CleyonSince this thread got bumped I figured I'd update. Saw DS two days ago, he's healed, no more sympathy!
Hope all goes well for u mate
F1-WilliamsHope you have recovered
ThunderLightSorry about injuries, I see all are healing well, good for you
Diablo any accident you can walk away from is a good one. Glad to hear your still with us.
thanks Mega, hopefully my 2013 zx6r should arrive in the next couple weeks. i ordered a white/black one, it's sexy as hell
Dam so you like the saki ninja crotch rockets. Nice color combo and it is one sexy mofo.***Video of Diablo Strong and his new bike
agreed
i modified the story a bit to not be so entirely my own fault when i was explaining the wounds to some girls at the gym this morning ;)
but an update: every day my leg is feeling better, i can walk almost normally now. i think this is entirely a testament to the healing powers of testosterone.
Big thanks to Cleyon for recommending i not start PCT early and finish out my cycle, i think that last shot of test is speeding up recovery big time.
glad to hear you're doing better bro, fucking cars are gonna be the death of us bikers, the majority are inconsiderate assholes who'll have no problem pulling out in front of you or cutting you off or running your ass over if you should happen to fall. People these days (shakes head).
CleyonHeck yeah bro, you only had one shot left of the cycle anyway. There's no way it could have hurt!
Good deal!!
DiabloStrong,
Glad to hear you walked away. Heal well.
thanks brother!
Been to the highside twice myself... once when a Gas tanker decided he wanted my lane, I hit the median and just about had it stopped when I hit the drain grate that was lifted up... saw sky.. ground... sky.... ground before it was all over... thankfully nothing broken and limped into the HD dealer in charlotte for a new brake assy to fix the busted one.. second time was doing a tuning run on a FLHP for a guy, throttle stuck wide open 2nd gear headed into a sand covered turn... highsided it right down the street coming to a stop in front of my house... neighbors came out to see me with bloody arms, palms, and one knee beat to crap cursing my ass off cause I now had a busted bike to fix that wasnt even mine.... rolled it down into the garage, pulled the edelbrock POS carb off and bashed it with a sledgehammer. Told the guy what happened and that I would fix the damage, but HE was getting a new carb, cause I would not put that one I had rebuilt 4x already back on (didnt tell him about the sledge falling on it repeatedly, lol!)... anyways, sheetmetal can be replaced brother, you cant. Glad youre still with us!!
damn dude, sounds like you got lucky twice. relatively, any bike accident that we walk away from could have been much worse. thanks for the comments bro.
My thoughts exactly, if I can stand and curse afterwards it was a good crash, LOL... and been lucky more times than I want to think about.. last one was in early 2010, stopped for a light and just barely seen a moron flying up in the rearview and popped the clutch to keep him from mowing me down as he blew the light on 1 in Daytona... friend of mine on a semi stock evo took off after him. Took me a second to catch my breath and then I took off too... blew past my bud like he was standing still (gotta love a stroker!) caught up with the moron at 1 and Granada, was just about to reach into the car to pull him out when I saw one of Volusias motorcycle popo sitting in a parking lot looking at us, so I settled for ripping him a new one thru the window. Light turned green and he took off while I pulled in and told the popo what had happened. Last I saw the popo was just idling along behind the moron waiting for him to fuck up.
Why didn't you pull the clutch on the second one when the throttle got stuck?
Actually hit the kill and did do that, but was just deep enough into the curve when it unloaded onto the front end it pulled it over to the right. Wouldnt have been a problem if not for the sand that had washed onto the road.
CleyonJust to give a little flavor to this (since Grrrl has impuned my honor), I'd like to relate the story of my first time down. It was my first street bike, a 1981 Yamaha Virage 750. I'd been riding motocross for years, but this is the first street bike I purchased. I loved her, washed her, polished her, sometimes I kissed her.
Anyway about six months after I bought her I did a full strip down detail. Took the tank off, took the exhaust off, polished ever nook and cranny I could find, even armor all's the tires and seen till she shone like the noonday sun. After I'd admired my sparkling beauty for a few minutes I jumped on her to go pick up my favorite girl for a ride.
I swiftly left my driveway, and turning out of my driveway she slid right out from underneath me landing me on my side sliding after her. When I picked her up and took her back to the garage the only damage was some scrapes on the exhaust and brake lever. However I looked like someone had taken a cheese grater to the right side of my leg and arm. This is where my "always wear long pants", and "never armor all the tires" rules came from.
duuude, that's rough! i've actually seen a cheese grater accident and it's not pretty! haha the paramedic that was cleaning my wounds in the ER told me the story of his first cleaning a few years back. some drunk driver who went through his windshield during a crash had all the skin on his arm peeled back to his shoulder. the drunk was on the perfect combo of drugs to not feel any pain, but hte paramedic had a hard time scrubbing grass and dirt off of actual muscle.
CleyonYeah, that's a NASTY job! More painful than the scrapes where the injuries to my pride. Come to think of it, I fell on my right side in that one too! LOL!
Speedy Recovery to you DiabloStrong! I had some close calls in the past but thankfully never crashed. Get better soon.
AnonMy best wishes to you Diablo, so sorry to hear of this but by the sounds of it you'll be riding again real soon. Glad your alright
damn right i'll be riding again lol! as soon as i can bend my left knee fully i'll be back on a bike.
Anonmate got cleaned up on the way to work not long ago by a female driver in a rush to get her kids to day care..end two broken legs..be careful guys always scan the road terminator styles and have a buffer zone for tite situations..all the best diablo, happens to the best of us!
Hope you get better soon. Lots of motorcycle wrecks lately. My brother also went down last week only broke a rib and some bruises !!
DAMN NOOKA! Glad you're ok bro. Keep the rubber side down
thanks for the comments guys, yeah it could have been MUCH worse. the guy i hit was thankful that they didn't have to scrape me up off the highway. i jumped up right after the accident and was walking around a bit, sort of in shock. Cleyon said something like "dude your leg" and i looked down and saw blood pouring down my shin, pooling in my shoes and all over the ground. thankfully shock took most of hte pain away, i pulled a couple large pieces of glass and gravel out of my knee and then took a seat. the hardest part of recovery is going to be my knee, i think there might be a tendon bruising or something, i can barely bend my left leg without feeling a pain deep inside my knee.
i'll be at the gym tomorrow, working out chest, don't need legs for that!
Sucks about the bike...but ya got all your parts and you basically walked away from it. Last accident I got in I laid my bike down after someone had cut me off...life flashed before my eyes kinda thing, but no broken broken bones. Speedy recovery bro.
CleyonI kept suggesting that you should sit down and you were like. "No I'm OK"... Then all of the sudden sitting seemed like a good idea to you! LOL! I was suprised how quickly you pushed the bike off of you and got to your feet, I almost expected you to be unscathed. Tell these nook as what the Doc said about your calves.
the doc thought i had injured my calves because she thought they were swollen, then she started poking and prodding my legs and said 'nevermind, you've just got muscular legs" damn right i do! hahah
HahAhA funny shit
AnonHaha I crashed my bike once, and the adrenaline made me leap up and grab that bike.
And that was the last I remember for a few minutes, I blacked out ! The adrenaline from a crash can be intense.
My last one I went up someone's backside on the 10 fwy, flipped up about 120 degrees, came back down with both feet on the ground, swung my leg over and laid her down nice and easy
Bent rim and buckled forks and I still rode the motherfucker home! LOL!
There are two kinds of Riders:
Those that go down
And those that lie about it
Whether you're walking, rolling or getting rolled away as long as it's not in a bag YOU WIN
was the there any parts of the bike he wants to sell? thinking about upgrading myself so in these circumstances it would probably be the best idea to just send the popeboy his parts
BTW im jk, im glad he's alright, I had a close call a few weeks back when I dumb bitch on her cell phone decided to jump in my lane and I fish tailed a bit but pulled outta it. I think it should be a law to require the use of handsfree bluetooth if operating a vehicle imo.
it's a 2012 ninja 650. will probably need about a grand of repairs before it's in original condition again. front and right fairing need to be replaced. the gas tank has a little dent in it and the molding around the rear seat is cracked.
I know it has to make you sick see something that new and that expensive get fucked up, at least you came out of it ok. Glad you geared up could have been not so lucky ya know
get well bro
Well.....he can always pick a new bike from any of the ones featured in the Google ad above...LOL.
Fucking Google = Big Brother.
CleyonThose pieces of high performance Chinese machinery! WooHoo
so on top of the embarrassment of laying his bike down and cutting up his knees you've posted it up here ???
CleyonIt's done out of love! The guys get it. I told him about this thread and everything. It wasn't his fault that people like to brake spontaneously on the freeway.
Wishing him a speedy recovery. Know my share of good men who have been permanently fucked up from asshat drivers on the road. Glad it wasn't worst. Get well brother!
Anonglsd to know it wasnt worse shit thats a scary situation right there
Hey bro thank god u r still alive! I have been riding your years and have had a few close calls! I also have seen 1st hand the tragedies! And more than once it was not the rider but the idiot behind the wheel! I'm glad u were wearing a helmet and riding jacket! I have the scars on the bac of my calf to remind me that the exhaust pipe will brand u for life! Get well soon bro!
I ride a '76 KZ 900 and trust me, you don't need to have anyone pull out in front of you to go down on that bitch...lol
Hope a speedy recovery for Diablo.
Screw that, hows the bike???
edit: I'm joking ofc. These situations are never easy, even if you come out unscratched. Get well soon brosky!
CleyonHe was thinking it was a total loss, but when we picked it up today it looks like it's totally cosmetic damage. Not too bad at all, if anyone wants to go in on a GoPro camera I'll put it on my helmet for the next round of fun! LOL!
