does anyone drink milk?

ad

I realized the other day that I haven't had a glass of milk in probably 20 years. I actually don't know anyone that does. Other than an occasional bowl of cereal, I have zero. Wonder if there is any benefit as an adult.

Love the stuff, always have and no doubt always will. Go through around 10-12 pints a week. This is between tea, coffee, cereal and supp shakes. Or just have a glass as it is if I'm eating something hot and spicy.

Used to mix a bit in with raw eggs when I was young, makes me wanna heave now, shakes go down a lot easier.

2 gallons of store brand whole milk a week. It's cheap calories and protein.

Drink of the Gods. I can not imagine my life without milk. MILK!

When I was at Uni, I didn't have a lot of decent advice, or money, so I used to have 4 pints of milk morning and again at night. and they used to have 400g tins of tuna, would drain the water and add mayo and eat from the can. I smelt like metal when I sweat. Now I have 1% milk and add that to weight gain powder instead of water.

I agree I enjoy fair life a lot...

I drink about three gallons of milk a week :/

I absolutely love milk and will probably drink it until the day I die.
One benefit is 8 grams protein per cup

I'm going to go to store tonight and see if they sell Fair Life. I doubt it, but worth a look. Thanks

NoWeakAces's picture

That's what my wife drinks. It's not bad really, just too pricey for the amount I consume. Most of your nicer grocery chains carry it in half gallon sizes.

Drop-set's picture

Thanks, found it. Not cheap but I snagged a couple.

NoWeakAces's picture

Milk and water are the only 2 liquids I ingest. 2% when I'm cutting, whole milk when bulking.

Drock_357's picture

Yep yep...whole milk fairlife post workout and lunch every day, wether bulking or cutting...
And what else do you dip your Oreo cookies in?...

cdyrdes's picture

Drink a tall frozen mug full every morning with my breakfast. Whole milk the good stuff

My ex wife fucked me up for life, showing me the white blood cell count and a bunch of stupid shit. I still kinda hate her for that. I'm over all the guys she blew and whatever else, but the milk thing, I'll never forgive. Lol.
I make up for it in cheese and butter. I just can't bring myself to drink more than a glass a month.

shawn0712's picture

Lol. How you healing up brother?
I was thinking about you the other day. I came home Friday after hitting chest hard and my wife asked if I crushed myself with the bar. I had what looked like a straight line bruise across my left pec and into my shoulder. The bar hardly makes contact so it wasn't that. Nothing hurt, and it went away quick so I must've just broken some vessels or something but it scared me a little and made me think of your injury.

I quit drinking milk about 15 years ago too. I read about the all the hormones that were injected into cows and how milk can lead to estrogen dominance in men yada, yada, yada. I was also in the midst of my first ever cut and Cutting milk from my diet eliminated about 40g of sugar/day. Seeing that some of the competitors on here drink milk has me reconsidering adding it back into my diet.

RangerVet's picture

It's funny I started 2 years ago drinking a gallon of milk per day. Almost 3000 calories and lots of protein and I feel great. Try it

2% Fairlife all the way.

I cut way down on milk consumption until i discovered fairlife, lactose free, lower fat and sugar, higher protein and it taste freakin amazing. Well worth the extra $1.50 over store brand per jug.

JL's picture

^^^This!^^^ When bulking I throw 1.5l bottle In the cooler and drink it all day with my meals. Not everyday but a few days a week will definitely help with calorie intake.

Makwa's picture

I drink a jug a day of the fairlife whole milk during the offseason and switch to the skim when cutting.

Stopped drinking it about a year ago. Now my family drinks almond or coconut milk.

Jayzgainz's picture

Love my almond milk. (Unsweetened vanilla) My son drinks the coconut. I dont care for it. Although I will still have a glass of regular 2% every now and again. Depends on what I am eating with it.

I really like the unsweetened coconut milk for my post workout shakes. Throw in some cinnamon and PB makes for a good shake.

giardap's picture

(pure) coconut milk is amazing for electrolytes
