Ok, anybody here have any hints on breaking amps open? Got some Geofman's and the first one I tried with a simple amp breaker completely exploded in my hand, so I stopped to re-asses the situation and cut my losses. Anyone know where I can purchases a really good amp breaker?

I wasn't sure what to do when I received an amp full of bac water with my hcg.
Only thing I knew how to do was be a man and break that shit open with my barehands.
Anonbuy a $6 ampule opener.
Metal nail file. Score the neck all the way around. Pop like nothin. Effortless.

Gravedigging here folks. Looks like I may be using some ampules for the 1st time in my life. I'm pretty satisfied with this video, does everyone on eroids concur?
Why is the OP of this thread having so much trouble opening these?

AnonWait a minute!!! This is my first time using ampules, is the reason I bumped this post. I used the search and didnt want to make a new one.
Do you use the filter needle to draw from the broken ampule?
keep the amp at a slight tilt when breaking, I never had any issues with broken glass. never used a filtered needle.
Also, make sure all the oil has settled to the bottom of the amp. Sometimes the oil will get stuck (like a bubble) in the top.
I think after 2 years he probably has it figured out. :-)
AnonYeah but I have some ampules coming in and I have never used amp before. No amp cutter needed I suppose?
I was nervous at first mainly I did not know how much pressure was needed... see my post below.
IMO, the key is to "confidently" snap like a smelling salt.
If the amp is pre-etched no amp cutter is required.
I have used Geofmans and they are a pain.I purchased a Sepha Ampoule Opener(clic-open),works a treat,make sure you score it really well.
I just took some scissors around teh neck of it, went around it a few times to score it and it just popped pretty evenly on its own.
If the amp has a dot on it over the score in the glass all you need to do is:
You need a paper towel, alcohol pad, amp
roll the base if the amp up a few times in the paper towel –leave the neck and top exposed.
Open the alcohol pad. wipe down the top and neck of the amp.
cradle the amp between your thumb, index finger, and middle finger.
point the dot away from you.
slip the pouch the alcohol pad came in over the top of the amp.
tilt the amp slightly away from you to help prevent any glass from falling into the amp (not so much as to spill the content).
CONFEDENTLY snap the top TOWARD you. It takes about the same amount of pressure as snapping open a smelling salt.

AnonYou got any bubblewrap? Grab two pieces of it and take one piece with one hand grab the bottom of the amp then take the other piece and crab the top of the amp. Once you got a good grip snap them but try not to shake much while you do it also try and separate your hands asap so you dont have any glass dropping on the amp. Bubblewrap has always worked for me even with zafa testonon which is the worst type of amp

AnonI never filter mine cause i break them clean, if you have a filter you could use it i guess. You will get it finally its all a matter of practice.
I tried bubble wrap that was lying around, the second amp blew in half and filled with glass. I might just be doing it wrong.
AnonYou need a fat piece of bubble wrap, i fold mine to 3 pieces or so then grip the amp. If that fails try taking a knife and score the amps, but that alone can shutter them. I would say practice with the bubblewrap and try do the snap fast and not with too much force. If you grip it right you only need a tiny amount of force.
