Anyone else having trouble with +1 on a post

I am fairly new to the forum but I am trying to give posts the thumbs up and my computer just ignores the action. I switched to my PC desktop and same problem. Does this feature just not work?

Have to at least have 50 karma points before you are able to do that.

Oh ok was wondering if it was something like that. What are good ways to build karma on here?
