A little humility?

ad

I'm seeing something around here that's becoming all too common. People with superiority complexes. Obviously this is just a part of human nature. And just like in any other community or society, eroids has different demographics and groups of people who fit into a category. It's supposed to be a community of sharing knowledge and experience with some level of comradery, and in most cases it is. You see everyone sharing and helping each other out. People posting pics when it took every ounce of courage they had to hit that save button. They get all the support and encouragement from their eroidian brothers and sisters that they need to push forward and not relent. You see it in the forums, cycles, diets etc. But you also get the douche bags. Usually young, in pretty good shape and feeling good about themselves (as they should). But the minute they feel like they are being challenged at all, they immediately get defensive and passive aggressively belittle the person they're interacting with. Talk shit about their pics, about how stupid their cycle plan is, how old they are, how light weight they are, how little experience they may have etc. It's a little bit ridiculous. While they may very well be physically superior to others, they believe that its the only thing that's important. Don't get me wrong, i am extremely health conscious and take excellent care of myself so I understand that. But I don't weigh 200lbs. I can't bench 405lbs. Does that make me you any better than me? Because you can lift more? Or might look better than the next guy? Fuck no! truth is what you have is an inferiority complex. Maybe someone called you names in school because they were smarter than you and it made you feel small so you decided to get big. Maybe you got your ass kicked a lot and you needed to feel big to compensate. I don't care what the reason is, it's dumb. If you are truly superior, then why the need to defend your superiority? You being bigger or stronger than another man doesn't make you any better. Everyone is good at something right? So you may kill me on stage but even tho you out weigh me by 50lbs, I would light you the fuck up in a fight! You think im gonna stand there and let you lift me mufukr? Does that make me better? Fuck no! Why the need to make others feel small? Whether it's insulting their intelligence or their physique or age,...whatever! Why? Does that make you feel like a big man? It makes you a fuckin coward! What ever happened to humility? It is possible to find a balance between confidence and humility ya know! Everyone isn't on the same level with anything around here. I don't care if its age, cycle experience, physique, intelligence, skill set. We are all unique and all of us together make community great! It isn't a bodybuilding site. It's an AAS site. TRT guys, Power lifters, fighters, average joe who wants to look good naked. Nobody is better than the next man! The minute you start acting like you are, it just shows how truly inferior you feel. So the next time a guy who may have a little more experience or has razor sharp wits disagrees with you and makes a valid point, chalk it up and learn from it. Everone won't get along but who gives a shit? What the next guy eats doesn't make you shit! None of us knows everything or we wouldn't be here. Learn from each other. Take what you can and pass it along. You're forgetting what BFG had in mind when he made this site. Lets try to keep the integrity of our site in tact! None of us are better than the next guy/gal

Couldn't of said it better my friend

I mean no disrespect for Nitty but nothing was done about the assholes who literally got away with name calling and 4-letter word calling on my posts time to put this into action I think!!!

You come on my post about humility and get mad about my lack of action with? What you want me to ban ppl for giving you sound advice? For telling you to relax and try to look at things from another perspective? You fly off the handle and start these dramatic wars and you want to be supported by me? I sat back hoping you'd figure it out. That you're just mad and being unreasonable. That didn't happen. The only thing my lack of action has done is make you more bold! Well now I've taken action. Hopefully you can learn a little humility

dudebro's picture

jesus christ, stop whining already. ive seen you do more "name calling and 4-letter word calling" than anyone else on this board.

Your condition seems to be worsening by the minute. Why are you here again? You come in with this apology that was equal parts excuse and condemnation. Yet you refuse to even acknowledge that you yourself brought on most of the "attacks" with your own attitude. You speak of people pussy negging, yet how many times have you went after my karma this week? Yea, I know and so do they.

Viking himself took you under his wing and tried to help you. He also told you to stay away until you get yourself dialed in as they were tired of babysitting for you. But here you are again, stirring up shit unnecessarily. I truly hope you get the help you need

Keep dinging my karma lol.

Yea, you are right (as usual) Nitti. I think in this raging, testosterone soaked little corner of the internet we have here we all fall into that trap on occasion. The trick is once it has been pointed out that is what you are doing is to make it right or step off. We are all human and mostly men, you know the rest.

I would love to tag a few users in this but I'll refrain from doing so ;)

Then when you guys see this happen you should be putting ppl on blast. Give me a taste of their own medicine. If you don't want to at least pass it along to those among is who love confronting bullies.

You know what makes this site great? You see an average guy, much like myself, a guy with a wife, kids, a career etc. post up a picture of themselves now, and compare it to a few months back, and realize how much we help each other on here. I'm a father and a husband first, a "worker" (not putting job type here) second, and a fitness enthusiast third, so when I see someone who DOESN'T look like Jay or Ronnie post up some before and afters, I can relate.

When people bash each other on here for no CONSTRUCTIVE reason, I just shake my head. At 31, I'm by no means far from being an arrogant, mid twenties punk, but I have grown in leaps and bounds MENTALLY, and I love seeing one of my peers on here make big progress. I applaud the guys on here who post up pics that an outsider wouldn't understand, but as fellow eroiders, we all appreciate in terms of what it took to get from where the individual was to where they are now.

I hate seeing the cyber bashing, it's not why we are here, and all it does is discourage others from posting or joining or sticking around long enough to learn. This site has made me really understand more then I ever dreamed went into responsible AAS usage, and I for one am thankful eroids exists. Lets move forward guys, no one can progress if we hold each other back with pety bullshit.

I have the utmost respect for this dude... Since day one he has been one of the more supportive/constructive criticizing mentors/mods on here. He will get at after your ass If you fuck up.. BUT he isn't disrespectful and not once has had something negative to say about size. FINALLY someone that understands everyone's goals aren't the same!

Don't get me wrong, these huge body builders have dedicated their life to the sport and are wicked sick in their own way....but I never want to look like that, I have no desire. I would like to eventually compete for mens physique...not "sports modeling" but physique! The dudes that don't fuckin skip leg day lol.

Anyways nice post, and much respect!

Love this

Excellent post!

Excellent read. Couldnt be more right. It is the responsibility of the bigger stronger faster smarter crowd to help those less gifted in a supportive and encouraging way. I coach little league and I always pull my best kids aside and talk to them about making their team mates better by building them up. When we drop a fly ball or strike out we smile and clap and say its ok well get em next time. If it aint like that they dont play for me no matter how good they are. It should be the same here. That bein said, I can take my ass chewin and correction cuz the many who have helped in my education have done so in a really cool way. Thsnks Nitti.

That's deep bro, I agree. We all start from somewhere. A lot of times when I see these young guys at the gym with GOOD attitudes who are clearly giving it their best, I often go up and compliment or encourage them. A simple statement like " you kicked ass on that set" goes a long way. When I was starting off I was a runt.

That's cold though how some people were trash talking pics. One of the main reasons i never post. We are all here to learn and to encourage one another. Nice words go a long way bros....negative ones....not so much

Well said Nitti mad respect to you brother.

Fair enough. I saw the reply "I agree" to that dude's comments. He has the right to express his opinion, but not at the expense of the next man. You're good. I'm sure you have a better idea of what I was trying to say

tyler717's picture

i think i may have agreed when he was talking about the cocky kids flexing and what not, sorry for the misunderstanding, glad to see the Mods doing their job tho! Smile

Thanks for keeping us grounded bro, mad respect!

I'm bumping this calling out some ignor-ANUS's in a source page. They seem to think they can pick apart or tear down people here for not looking like they do. Actually I only saw one of their pics. The other two probably look like the ppl they are making fun of. That's usually the case anyway. So I expect to see the following members in this thread within the next 24 hours with an explanation of what they mean when they say that if you dont look like you're on (cycle) when you aren't, then you have no business using AAS,.....

One already got banned. I'll let him back in a few days but he needs to chill a little. And I hate this fucking topic because I don't like to sound as if i'm grouping bodybuilders all up and throwing stones at them. fact is it isn't bodybuilding that is the issue. It's individuals who happen to be Young bodybuilders who have the issues with everyone else on AAS

Thanks for this Nitti.

Everyday I have more respect for Nitti. You impress me with your maturity and leadership of this site.

PS, you should have posted this on General talk. I have been on this site for a while and just discovered Off topic. There's just so much info to digest.

Nitti's picture

If I put it in general then it would be flooded with upvotes and sends the wrong message. Off topic is the same audience as General I believe. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Great post. You see the superior complex at gyms all the time, but the reality is we're all at different stages, body shapes and sizes. It would be very boring if we was all god bods & monstas.
Not to mention the snide comments that get throw about the changing rooms at my gym.
Yes, if you think your a guru gym user, show some love & a bit of humility, peep's will respect you more, fo sho, big bro's!!!

Good Post Nitti! Reminds me of an Old Indian Proverb I Read a Long Time Ago.

An old Grandfather said to his grandson, who came to him with anger at a friend who had done him an injustice, "Let me tell you a story.

I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those that have taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do.

But hate wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking poison and wishing your enemy would die. I have struggled with these feelings many times." He continued, "It is as if there are two wolves inside me. One is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him, and does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will only fight when it is right to do so, and in the right way.

But the other wolf, ah! He is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannot think because his anger and hate are so great. It is helpless anger, for his anger will change nothing.

Sometimes, it is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of them try to dominate my spirit."

The boy looked intently into his Grandfather's eyes and asked, "Which one wins, Grandfather?"

The Grandfather smiled and quietly said, "The one I feed."

Now come on pimply it is not an Indian proverb it is a Cherokee Native American story. Can't give the Indians credit for that:) Just kidding brother this was a perfect proverb to compliment Nitti's post! Thank you for bringing out.

pimplybutt2012's picture

you are 100% correct Pank it is a Cherokee story.I apologize for generalizing and not giving credit to where it was due, lol.As soon as i finished reading Nittis post it reminded me of this.I dont think i could have written anything better so i used that story.

Darktide's picture

I 100% agree! I knew this saying from years ago when I was young and it fit perfectly it still has as much meaning today as it did then. Keep bringing the goods brother!
