Let's say besides the obvious one, gear lol. For me it's been switching to 100% whole unprocessed foods. I cook everything I eat and I weigh and meal prep every single meal for the week. Been a huge money saver buying in bulk and I feel and look great. No more cravings for sweets and junk food. My grocery list: russet potatoes, sweet potatoes, red lentils, ground beef, ground chicken, frozen vegetables, Greek yogurt, white rice and raisins.
Previously I would try and stick to macros but not really have any actual meal plan to follow, and I would always get off track.

Joining a gym that you actually enjoy. I spent years at planet fitness and didn’t realize how much it actually sucked until i switched to a hardcore bodybuilding gym.
Like you said a dedicated meal plan! I’ll also add not being afraid of a de-load week and a day or two off. I always come back stronger and hungrier than I was.
Taking more rest. Started growing like crazy. And when I start taking food seriously also was a big game changer
Learning to connect with the muscle that I’m training has taken a long time for me.
Still struggling with this one, mostly on chest and lats. Lat pushdowns especially my triceps will take over.
Although I’ve gotten better over the past decade, I hope to continue to improve for as long as I train. Lats and chest have been most difficult for me as well.
Sgned upto an top gym. I work my ass off every session.
Diet for sure - keeping what I eat simple & repeatable was a game changer for me. And essentially cutting out all processed crap. Don’t know why I couldn’t figure this out 20 years ago but nice to pass the lessons on to by son who’s starting to get into weightlifting & nutrition.
opossumsHonestly, that's the part people overlook. If your meals are already prepped, there's nothing to decide. You just grab your food and move on with your day
I'd probably say the same. Meal prep is a game changer.
