Swollen Quad Questions

ad

I've researched the pin spots on the quad and went for it three days ago. It was only 1/2 CC of depo cyp. I can't bend my leg and my tendons on the front outside of my leg are inflamed. The pain sucks, but I'm more worried I hit something I shouldn't have. Already called my doc and he hasn't called back yet. Any related or helpful information is greatly appreciated!

@Benros prescribed cyp. The crazy part is that I've done gluts and delts and no sides, but DANG that quad sucked! Lol

you'll be fine bro. its just some PIP. it happens to the best of us. unless its red and swelling up, no reason to call your doctor. if the injection site looks normal but you just feel the pain, then you are good. it will pass. there are some great tips to help reduce the pain but it will happen with some products. some more than others and some nothing at all. are you on TRT? is this dr prescribed cyp?

To answer the questions about my history if AAS, I have none other than what my script is. My whole life I honestly looked down on AAS users, but then one fateful day I was diagnosed with low T and it shook my reality. Well, for six months now I've been researching and have found I was absolutely wrong on my assumption due to being a low informed moron. Now I'm packing a years worth of gear away and will start my first run here shortly.
As far as where I pinned, unfortunately I hit the 12 o'clock mid thigh instead of the outaide 3/4 way down. I took some anti inflamitories last night and today it is much better. I will heed the advice to warm the oil before injection from now on, thanks everyone for the grounded advice!

Yeah that is what I thought if I assume right by your eroid name you do mma. So this will be easy for you to understand, the iliotibial tract is a nerve that runs down the outside of the thigh all the way to the knee joint. That is of course why we who do mma enjoy kicking are opponent there so much. I am sure you remember that feeling when the nerve was virgin territory and the first time you got it kicked "ouch". Anyways if you hit that let alone with a needle but also injecting a new compound that was not heated, you can imagine the perfect storm that it causes. Glad you are feeling better, I know that pain all to well Smile

where the injection site is inflamed, is it hard or soft to the touch. if it is soft and mushy more than likely you have an infection, if it is hard like a knot, it is just your body reacting to the compound and this is ok. heating the oil prior to injection will lower the viscosity and help absorption. but Never massage the injection site immediately after injection. pushing on it will just send the oil back up and spread it through the sub q layers of the skin where you dont want it, this will increase the chance that you will develop pain or an abscess

The location of the injection was it the outside of the thigh mid to lower level?

Right now it's just really tight and swollen. It looks like the time I blew my knee. I went a little center of the muscle instead of off to the outside. If it gets worse by the morning ill go see the doc. Hadn't thought of the lymph nodes, good call mechtech!

Number one is virgin muscles. My first cycle I pinned only quads and about ever 3rd time I pinned either quad I would get stiffness and or swelling. Each quad has 3 places to pin as well, when standing where your middle finger touches the quad with your arm hanging and then 2inches above and below. Rotate those three spots around every time you pin your quad. Also you could have hit a lymphnode. This will result in some crazy swelling and stiffness. Very important things to watch for are redness with the swelling and fever in the area where there's swelling. If you have this then go to the doctor for sure. Back to virgin muscles, now when I pin my quads I don't have any trouble usually and if I do its minimal. I know how nerve wracking it is to experience any pinning issues because the first thoughts are infection. Just remember to swab the top of the vial before drawing and use another swab on the injection site pre-injection. Using one pin to draw and a different to inject really helped to ward off any post pinning discomfort also.
