-2 Proven way to get bigger and stronger
Do you want to get bigger? Do you want to get stronger? I know a way that is time tested and as far as I can tell on here not often mentioned.
Here it is, get a work out partner! I think this is one of the best ways to improve all around performance and have more fun in the gym. Now hear me out, I know all of us are basically egomaniacs suffering from dysmorphia but when you add a workout partner into the mix it really allows you to do the most important thing there is in the gym IMO and that is train to failure all the time. From personal experience I can tell you that I put on 45 lbs of lbm (170-215 while maintaining a 32" waist at 6-2" with juice of course) in 5 weeks due to the fact that I had a partner I trusted. We used to do 2hr workouts daily and fail at 3rd to 5th set every exercise and we only hit 1 muscle group a day. My partner and I started out 95lbs apart, thats right he was 265! You can not (I can not) go to failure with out a partner for fear of loosing my grill lol! When you have a good partner you keep each other on track and abuse each other to the point of forced gains. I hope you all consider this and realize that it doesn't matter if they are stronger or weaker than you all that matters is you push each other and keep each other safe. There is no substitute for training to failure, it's what I aim for every day and it truly is where the magic happens. You may not be able to imagine how good it felt this X-mas when i went back home and trained with my best friend while i was 234 and he was 244 but it was very satisfying of course best of all is that my new work out partner ( my 16 year old son who benches 315 and hack squats 14 plates!) was with us and we tried our best to destroy him but he hung in there like a champ! I will be making a post soon on " how to be a partner and how to spot the right way( no homo).

NIce post, bro! Its always great to have someone to workout with to push yourself and take it to the max rep you can with a bit of assistance. Going to failure and having that spotter will help a lot with gains. You can get extra reps just by mentally having those extra reps.
Thanks Bradd, I think you said what I was trying to with far less words, thanks!
I think that a training partner is good for one major thing (assuming they know what they are doing) and that is ensuring proper form and contraction (the squeeze). I thought I knew what I was doing until I started training with someone that knew more than me. I then realized why my forearms were disproportionate to the rest of my body (because I used them in every exercise). I think heavy weight and wanting to max is more for power lifters. In the words of Kai Greene, "I am not a weight lifter" I am a bodybuilder and there is a difference. Too much weight and you form will suffer, limiting growth and increasing injury potential.
You are right, that is a major thing. I think there are many benefits to a training partner, form, variation, confidence, forced reps, competitiveness, etc.
I haven't gone for 1rm since I was 18 so I agree there as well, but I do think stronger = bigger. Of course apearence is more important to me than strength but there is a corolation.
im gonna agree with xV on this, 45lbs in 5 weeks? so 9lbs per week? so over 1lb per day? thats obsurd. Eat lots, train hard ( i dont like to train to failure everytime but thats just my opinion) and you will get bigger and stronger but Indont care how you train , eat or what you use, you will not make those kind of claimed gains ever.

u put on 45 lb in 5 weeks....yea right bro, thanks for the lies.. well shit i hope it wasnt water weight... i want to tell u this..what u wrote is not 100% true. the only proven way to get big is to workout until u cant lift a 5 lb dumbbell and food.. and u dont really need a partner if ur self motivate it...
Your right, not 100% true, let me explain. When I was 38 I was 240lb and barely able to squeeze into 40" waist jeans. I got into a accident on my daughters horse (he ran me into a tree at full speed) and cracked 3 vertebrae C5, C6 and T7. Cracked both collar bones, both sides of my sternum and 2 ribs. Also had a clean break from top to bottom in my right hip.
Being as heavy as I was made my knees, hips and back hurt a lot of the time. After the accident I decided to loose all that fat I was carrying around and try to get back in shape.
I started by only eating once a day and walking a lot. I was working 10 hour days in New Mexico as a union iron worker foreman and the office was about a quarter mile away so constantly walking was easy. I lost the first 20 lbs quickly and then started doing push-ups, sit-ups and dips every night. Lost another 30 lbs and then added in some dumbbell work and finally got down to a trim 170 with a 31 inch waist.
I held that weight for about 6 months and went out to San Diego for a new job. I ran into a old friend of mine who had been cycling for 3-4 years and I ran my first sustanon cycle. I kept doing my same routine for the first 2 weeks and didn't gain any weight, but I wasn't trying to either. My friend talked me into going to the gym with him and over the next 5-6 weeks of training 2 hours a day and eating right I was up to 215.
I didn't see it nesescary to include all this in original post cause I didn't think I'd be called a liar and compared to some jack ass. I was just trying to point out that having a workout partner can be very beneficial. And one more thing, first aas cycles are known to be best as far as gains and mine certainly was. I also never said anything about going for max weight or lifting heavy, I am 41 years old and have no desire to be injured any more than I already have. I still think that failure is important and I always will.
one more thing , i only know one man who can put on 45lbs in 5 weeks .... and that man is papa swole!!! thank u
Wow bro, when I first checked your reply I did what a 41 year old would do and waited 7 days to reply so I wouldn't resort to your 24 year old egomaniac bullshit by calling you nes like you did me. I checked out your profile and chilled till I could respond like a grown man.
1 week ago you said you started at 21, now you say you started at 17!
Your hittin on chicks at the gym post you say your 265? But latest pics say 230?
And I'm the fucking liar? Fuck you. Nothing worse than being called names by someone who wasn't even alive when I started lifting especially when the name applies to them way more. But that's something I've found is always true, people acuse people of what they themselves are guilty of. Sucks man, I respected you enough to cool down before I replied, now I realize I was right, your a punk ass.
sgtstedankoI agree completely, brother. nice post
Thank you SGT
