England and the bodybuilding community lost a gifted young man at the age of 30 this week due to mental health.
We are all big men who throw weights around but this only reinforces the importance of talking to someone if you're struggling, especially in these difficult times when loved ones are effected, financial problems arise and there is no gym to keep up a healthy routine and take our frustrations out on.
We all are on the same side, like minded individuals who love gear and self improvement. You’re not alone, message someone on here who you have mutual respect for and talk to them if you are feeling down.

Horrible loss. Should be a wake up call for us ALL to take care of our own mental health issues.
R.I.P Big man.
Sad but a good post. A wise man takes care of his brain as well as his body.
Mental health unfortunately has a stigma to it.
It doesn’t discriminate either. Robin Williams. Tyson Fury. Kurt cobain. Those guys had/have money and fame and Family Robin Williams commuted suicide so did Kurt cobain and Fury tried to. I’ll never understand it. All the money in the world didn’t help. Now that I think of it some of the happiest times in my life I was broke. I guess in a way I am rich just not the money rich.
I’m a big fan of Tyson Fury, not only for his fighting attributes but also his honestly about his own mental health. There has been a lot of marketing hype turning him into a mental health awareness advocate but I still think his openness to talk about his struggles with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts has given it less of a stigma for young men battling with such issues to come forward and seek help and support, whom otherwise would end up broke mentally and not the role models their children and community require and need.
I hear you bro, I feel like the richest man alive with my beautiful family around me.
The problem is that there are a lot of two faced and untrustworthy people in life - I had quite a heavy bowt of depression around 10 years ago when my life turned upside down losing many things that meant a lot to me including a relationship. I had a few people convince me I should talk to them about it all and how I felt - Only for it all to be used against me and regurgitated to everyone they also knew. I think the only people you can properly talk to about things like anxiety and depression in true confidence are Mental health professionals. The problem then is that many people feel too ashamed and scared to do this ....
In many ways you’re in a better position because of that now as you beat the grass and the snakes appeared. Imagine still thinking you can rely on those fellows 10 years on, the whole time they’ve tripped you up and planted the seed of doubt in your mind at every opportunity.
I’ve been in similar situations in my younger years and now I put all my energy in those few who put the same into me and so far it’s worked out very well.
Sorry to hear the way things worked out for you but I have to play devils advocate. I’ve found I couldn’t ever talk to licensed professionals because if I said what was on my mind even if there was no intention of doing it I would be put away. And it’s happened before too on more than one occasion. I think there’s a whole different level of complexity when they know substances are involved. At least in my experience there needs to be a professional involved but also at least someone to let in about anything you don’t feel comfortable talking to them about. The fear of talking to people is real and it’s always a tragedy when someone doesn’t reach out on time. Hope all is well stay safe out there
I’ve heard that many times and it becomes truer each time I hear it mate.
Rest in Peace ...
Well said.
Damn. :(
Sad times.
:-(
Rip
Seemed like a down to earth guy. Real shame.
100.
Too many men going this way.
Its devastating
Men are more likely to commit suicide, go to prison and not have an education education passed school. They say it’s a mans world, I beg to differ, at least in our country.
Jesus that’s so sad! :-( the mind is a very complex thing for sure, so many very successful people have depression and anxiety when you think what have they got to be depressed about but it’s just not that simple is it. Thankfully I’m not afflicted directly but several members of my family are and it’s really not nice.
So true. It can effect anyone at anytime and it can be a small thing which sets it off. Having a support network, whom ever it maybe, partner, work colleagues, Internet stranger to talk to can be a life saver
Way to young to go... rest in peace brother
I didn’t follow him but what I saw he was a good character and didn’t take himself to seriously. 30 years old and what seemed like everything to live for
Yeah he whas a good character. Nice physic also, its crazy how people can act like everything is alright with them. And try to swallow there problems instead of telling about them but who would taked him serious ?"Normal people"say its steriods related .. but who knows what other problems he had in his life
Acknowledge your feelings, I know so many guys who think stuff like “I can’t be depressed, look at how good everything in my life is going”. While having good things in life makes it more likely that you’ll be happy, there many many times where that you’ll still be depressed and it’s caused by something else entirely. The sooner you learn to acknowledge and respond to your feelings, the sooner you’ll be able to actually reach out for help. Do it with everything and develop it into a habit. Be open to your friends and family, they will listen and help cause they want the best for you. Hell honestly reach out to some people you know on here, I’ve had great chats with people that helped me think and set me on a better path.
Well said bro, I too have had plenty of help on here from members I’m proud to call friends
Amen brother.
Cheers bro.
